Wow mate, you have that mt8 absolutely ripping 🚀. For a bit more pep in the maxx a 6s ecs has been run in many without issues and with the erevo one being a direct replacement however I'd go hobbywing or something else. I'm very surprised with the gearing issues you are having as I've not experience any over my 4years of ownership of a maxx, maybe you've just been unlucky🤷♂️. I have stripped spurs, usually through bearings on either side of the cushdrive wearing out and even motor bearings worn but for atleast my first approx 9months there was no problems. I still run stock plastic spurs today. I like how you gave it time behind the wheel before you make judgement👌. Stick with the maxx and I'm sure you'll love it like I do👍
Hi Gareth! 🏴 Yea I like the maxx. Very tough. It’s dependable. Like a Volvo! The MT8 however is like a Metro 6R4. Mental!!! I’ve just replaced the rear bulk heads on the Maxx as I think I did some damage when I landed badly the other week. Maxx will be back soon! 🚀
Yes. I think it lost some teeth early on. You can almost hear them rattling around in the case. I think I bent the mount when I did that heavy rear end landing in video 3. Never been right since. This time I shattered the non hardened original metal pinion as it is softer then the hardened 50tooth spur I fitted. On the XMaxx you buy them both in a pack (20/50) but from what I can see traxxas don’t make a hardened 23tooth pinion. I’ve bought one off Simon Bryla SBRC instead.
@@Hungrybird474 MT8 is a beast. Think Outcast 4S sized BUT with steering, twice the power on 6S, metal chassis, super strong gearing (literally never fails diffs, spur, pinion etc etc) Negatives are you need Redcat/RPM arms, Redcat hubs (straight fit) and ideally 5mm Arrma turnbuckles fitting. Job done. ✔️
Yep , sweet rides .

Great video. Defo heard the gearing go about a minute before you said. Can you hear it 😂

@@SnoriRC Good old Simon SBRC, great prices and top guy.
Yes I have bought many MT8 parts from him.
One of my favorite things to do after work is spin one up pack up two RC s and a kcrc ramp and go hang out by the woods and get right 👍.
@@Hungrybird474 we can’t get those ramps in the UK 🇬🇧 I might start selling them!!
How u liking the mt8. Thinking getting a roller
I’ve owned them for a few years now. Personally I think they’re brilliant RCs!
MT8 is solid ?

@SnoriRC Thanks, I was looking for a recipe, it is now a really good basher!
@@TRAVELER197 it’s my fave RC on a par with my XMaxx.
