The draft captain spot should be one of the SBC’s that are currently available. It would give us a chance of trying a card before we part with the fodder for them. I think it would increase draft engagement massively

That’s exactly why EA won’t do it 😂 They want fodder out of people’s clubs so they can then purchase more packs. They are not going to risk having you not submit 500K worth of fodder into an SBC because you spent only 15K on a draft and disliked the current SBC player.

I think that draft should only display the highest rated of the listed player. The gamble in drafts shouldn't be if you get a good team or not, the gamble should be if you're willing to use 15k coins/fifa points to potentially win the draft.
stop taking 93 cruyff as your literal first pick
Think to get the draft you need to start the team with a 93 or 94 rated. Anything lower the players you get on the bench won’t upgrade it
Do a draft where you can only take a player if it’s there best version
Shortest or tallest team - or fastest or best sm/wf

I think an all inform draft challenge would be fun to do! Quite hard as well.

Personally I play draft to warm up for div rivals. Because you play with worse players in the draft and different from your regular team, it trains you to be flexible and utilise different skill sets. Also you don't really care as much about the team you get in draft, you just want a solid 11 man team, instead of always picking highest rated.
