Whatever 57 is in the regular position relative to par is what the goal should be. Wether that’s -1 or whatever the score is relative to par. Would make more sense and not let the course dictate this challenge. Thoughts?
It’s insane that they won’t adjust. If 57 is -2 in the initial layout, it needs to be bumped up to 59/60 if there’s a handful of holes that are now impossible to get birdies on.
My advice: Change the format at this course. If you're saying you need to play as good as one of the best players on planet Earth... let's be honest, it isn't going to happen. Make it a break -2 or whatever it would be. Ditch the break 57. The frequent basket changes to long par 3's/par 4's is making this challenge almost impossible unless you're a pro tour player.
Trevor! What I wanna see you do, (well actually not see it) but off camera come to this course 2-3 days before you know you are filming Break 57 and do a practice round. No scoring, just throw multiple drives, upshot’s and practice putts on each hole from different locations. Then the next day narrow down the percentage shots and after that, pop out here to film the episode. What how Ricky Wysoki breaks down courses in his practice rounds. Use that kind of mindset. You got this. I know you do.
A couple of thoughts: 1) I love this series. 2) Could you change the title to something like “Break Independence” so that you don’t have to break 57 when the course par changes? If I’m understanding correctly, the spirit of this challenge is to break par (not the now-arbitrary 57). It kind of kills the consistency of measuring how you are doing month-to-month if the goalpost keeps moving. In other words - we don’t want to see you break 57; we want to see you break par! 3) I recognize this is excessive, but maybe in future months, you could go out with 3 people (Trevor, cameraman, and spotter), so that the spotter could check the pin positions before you tee off on each hole. It just seems kinda cruel to throw your tee shot thinking the pin is in one position when it’s in a different position. Again, I love this series, so thanks for grinding it out for us and keep up the good work!
Some takeaways for positivity you hit some of the hardest gaps through some of your best drives, kept a good mindset through the whole round, and it was in the lungs. I don’t think it’s really fair to your challenge that it’s constantly changing. I also think that you should finish it out this year just you and Silas. Really good vibes through the whole thing.
Also I love seeing you leaning into this hyzer flip game- for a guy so entrenched in the anhyzer flex game you make the hyzer flip look easy. Keep it up big Trev!
You guys should do a dream 18 big hunt big trev and big kon addition BUT just in Virginia around where worlds is at and then release the videos a couple months before to get people to come early and check out the holes and foundation, boom imma genius
3 pieces of advice for this series: 1. Do a voiceover instead of talking through everything. It’ll help with focus, especially not overthinking shots. 2. You shouldn’t keep score. Another focus piece. It also relieves pressure. It’ll take some practice, but it’s worth it. I’ve shaved strokes off because of this. 3. After you’ve thrown a shot, good or bad, quickly focus on the next shot and what it requires. This is especially helpful when doing poorly.
I think this was a great round. You’re heading in the right direction. I bet you get it soon, especially if they pop all baskets into the short positions.
With this “break XX” being a year long challenge, there is little to no motivation for hitting that goal early. I see myself being more emotionally invested in things that are more transparent and relatable. The “shark vs md3” really peaked my interest. It’s not entirely believable that these guys are giving their all to hit that number this early in the season when drawing it out could “potentially” draw more views… I enjoy and binge all this content, don’t take this as a rant/diss
What if there was an incentive to break that score early? Then the next guy could start his challenge earlier and you’d still have “season long” content?
Definitely a good round of disc golf in my opinion. There were some really good bids on long putts that could have gone either way and unfortunately just didn't fall. I agree with most of the others saying it should be score relative to par rather than stroke total that you're shooting for. Especially since it's changed every month.
Great round! Loved how you were able to maintain your mental game and keep your spirits up. IMO, it shouldn't be a set shot total but a +/- of whatever the course par is at. So if you were originally (@57) shooting for 2 under or w/e, set it for 2 under the base par of that setup. Keeps the goal always the dame regardless of the course pin placement.
I just noticed that the about tab on your channel has a typo. "we hope our content gets *your* excited to play!" Just pointing that out for you guys lol.
One thing I would suggest doing is listening to a couple of audiobooks from Dr. Bob rotella I believe his name is. The two I would recommend is 1. Golf is not a game of perfect. And 2. Putting out of your mind. Both of those vastly improved my mental game.
Yes! The shark is gone! You have good friends to out up with you being so wrong and even being a tad rude to your bro bro Hunter who is desperately trying to help your game. Great videos. I always enjoy them
In memory of the Shark & Hunter looking out for Trevor’s best interests, I have a new video idea. Hunter & Trevor each make a bag for each other. They pick discs they think will make the other score the BEST at New London.
I would forget that course until they move the pins back to the short position. 57 doesn’t seem reasonable for even a top level player at those ranges.
Filming idea.. bring a portable step to see over the thrower instead of telling them to move on the tees. U could even hold down low until the throw. Idk.. have a good one.
More field practice! Seems like there's a lot of tuff tunnel shots. Learn your straight mids & fairways & tackle the holes with confidence! Tidy up your short par putts & you got it!
I would say, try upping the goal so the difficulty stays the same as before, instead of struggling just to score at even or better. Which btw, you put up some impressive shots, not a bad round! You just had some unlucky shots that costed you. Imagine you hitting the line on that island par 3 where you doubled bogeyed.
@Trevorstaubdiscgolf have you tried flippy forehands for those funky approaches like you had on 18? I've had a lot of luck flicking a Jawbreaker Fierce in situations like that.
Almost seems like a “rating” goal would be a better line. Like shoot a 1000 rated round. I guess it would be super hard to find a tournament with the same layout to get a rating read
I feel like i was watching myself in this video.. lately if i make a mistake i make a MISTAKE i'll have like 7-8 birds but then still play like 2 down lol it's like... sigh lol one day i played 3 down on a place i normally don't play well with a triple and double .. i was like man i was popping off cept when i REALLY wasn't lol
It’s absolutely insane to me how there are courses where there aren’t multiple permanent pin locations. And then also don’t have an indication on the tee sign. I would never want to play that course not knowing where the pins are. And they should also probably have it indicated on UDisc.
Bro, why aren't you walking the course to see where the baskets are??? Also, whenever I'm down on my putting, I'm come here to feel better about myself. 😂 Thanks T-dog!
So like...Trev...I think you need to do one of those videos with Hunter where you tell each other what to throw and how to throw it because your disc selection on some of these shots is concerning. Things you think will flip aren't and things you think wont are and its messing you up.
Trevor, look at the possible layouts and set scores to break for each possible layout. I wanna see you break it and if you have to shoot 1030 to break the score it won’t happen
For next month’s challenge, go into it like it’s a tournament round. Get good sleep(I know the baby makes it tough), be hydrated the day before, properly warmup, and don’t talk as much during the round. The first 4-5 holes had you talking for a long time at every single throw and that’s clearly not what you’d do in a tournament. We know what you’re doing, so just save your energy and focus on the throw. It’s you versus yourself, so stop treating it not like a tournament round.
My advice is take only Silas out with you every time. You guys had a very friendly, but disc golf-centered focus, where you get off track with Hunter and Konner. I felt like you had much more control over the mental game with only Silas there, but I've never thought previously that you had a handle on controlling your mental game. I propose that Silas and the absence of the others made this easier for you.
Honestly Trevor, you absolutely need to change the challenge to going -2 and not a certain number of strokes. These constant pin location changes are making this impossible for you.
I think it should be based around par instead of a certain score. This would make the changing pars and holes much more fair. Seems kind of pointless to do a challenge on a course that constantly changes where you'll almost never be able to do it if it's 5 strokes harder.
I think 57 isnt a realistic score for the long pin position. Its just such a hard course with those pins. What do you feel like you have implemented from the putting lesson you had back a couple months ago?
Trevor the people have spoken... PLAY RELATIVE TO PAR. Isnt fair to chase a 57, when the difficulty gets harder deoending on who places a basket where. Keep it the same difficulty
Y'all gotta change the goal. Having the random long to short switches from hole to hole really kills the consistency and gives you no shot of actually breaking it. The goal should be relative to par. That's the most fair

On hole12 your shark would be in the woods
I still think about my shark everyday… I just hope he’s happy wherever he is 😢
With love and respect. Your kids will be able to throw one at least
RIP beloved salachimorpha.
As a new dad myself I’d love a banter style podcast with you hunter and konnor talking young dads life
He's swimming with the fishes..😙
I have a champ Barela roc 3 almost new if you want it
Really don’t think it is fair to you to have to break 57 on a course where par and the holes keep changing
yeah this isnt fun because of the inconsistency
imo if 57 is par on what he started it should be adjusted to keep the "same" difficulty
Fully agree, if it’s changed to a par 4 you add a stroke adding to the 57
Yea totally agree. This is stupid
I came here to say this
New graphic numbers are a bit tough to read imo, but I like the creativity
I love calm analytical Trevor. Really showcased your disc golf knowledge and how well you know the hole in this episode.
Whatever 57 is in the regular position relative to par is what the goal should be. Wether that’s -1 or whatever the score is relative to par. Would make more sense and not let the course dictate this challenge. Thoughts?
My thoughts exactly- give big trev a chance!!
Yea, the goal should be to break par. Regardless of what they change the par to.
It’s insane that they won’t adjust. If 57 is -2 in the initial layout, it needs to be bumped up to 59/60 if there’s a handful of holes that are now impossible to get birdies on.
@@danielpenrodii2389yea I don’t understand why they won’t adjust? It’s probably thickheaded Hunter who won’t allow it
@@yeadogthazmyboi Hunter’s challenge had the same basket layout the entire time, so that’s unfair if he is stoping the adjustment.
100% agree. Make an outline of which holes dictate the total number for par, so they can prove they aren’t just cheating.
He did this a little on his channel. Took multiple tee shots. Worked on his gap hits and all.
A couple of thoughts:
1) I love this series.
2) Could you change the title to something like “Break Independence” so that you don’t have to break 57 when the course par changes? Again, I love this series, so thanks for grinding it out for us and keep up the good work!
"The sun is in my eyes" haha litteraly got a hat on backwards XD
I think the reflection off the disc was the problem.
Some takeaways for positivity you hit some of the hardest gaps through some of your best drives, kept a good mindset through the whole round, and it was in the lungs. Yall should do a series where you both play out of one bag
How has nobody done this yet? That's a bizarrely fantastic idea. Build the bag together (draft-style) and then play.
Give this man a prize.
I didn’t even know Konnor was pregnant! Congrats on the new wee one Kon Man! 🎉🎉
He stayed active the whole time and kept surprisingly trim. Hope he enjoys his leave and comes back with dad strength.
this is by far the most positive i've seen Trevor, and I love to see it. His putts are so close to going in
You guys should do a dream 18 big hunt big trev and big kon addition BUT just in Virginia around where worlds is at and then release the videos a couple months before to get people to come early and check out the holes and foundation, boom imma genius
I appreciate the low key energy that Silas brings, let's us hear more nature noises between Trevor maybe breathing between sentences 😜
You play a lot better when your there with just the camera. No distraction. Keep going you'll get it.
3 pieces of advice for this series:
1. Do a voiceover instead of talking through everything. It’ll help with focus, especially not overthinking shots.

A lot of very clean shots today. Keep it up.
I think this was a great round. You’re heading in the right direction. I bet you get it soon, especially if they pop all baskets into the short positions.
some insane forehands coming out today!
With this “break XX” being a year long challenge, there is little to no motivation for hitting that goal early. I was impressed by Trevs play today. Putt looked good too!
I know it wasn’t the score you were looking for but you played the course great
Hole 1 is an amazing shark hole
Definitely a good round of disc golf in my opinion. There were some really good bids on long putts that could have gone either way and unfortunately just didn't fall. Scratch at 50 has some solid psychology videos that have helped me play in a better mentality and stick to it through the round.
Trev threw some good shots today.
Nice round, Trev. My only question is where is the red Wraith? It seems like it works for you well, especially on this course.
That was a great round. The putts towards the end looked good.
Break 57. “ I’ve got disks that I don’t know what they do.” lol 1:31
I just noticed that the about tab on your channel has a typo. "we hope our content gets *your* excited to play!" Just pointing that out for you guys lol.
You can do it brother ❤
One thing I would suggest doing is listening to a couple of audiobooks from Dr. Bob rotella I believe his name is. The two I would recommend is 1. Golf is not a game of perfect. And 2. Putting out of your mind. Both of those vastly improved my mental game.

Just found out me and big Trev have the exact same Owala bottle. Best in the game rn
I would forget that course until they move the pins back to the short position. 57 doesn’t seem reasonable for even a top level player at those ranges.
Good round! I feel like +1 relative to par would've been a nice target score.
this will never happen if u can't make circle 1 putts but I hope u do Goodluck
Vid 38 of asking yall to come down to NC to play Zebulon Park for either a battle or just to play
Don't give up man just keep toss them discs
You should adjust the score to fit what par the course is in. You could just change the title every month to fit the layout. For example, Break 62
Filming idea.. bring a portable step to see over the thrower instead of telling them to move on the tees. U could even hold down low until the throw. Idk.. have a good one.
4:50 Damn Trevor 🎂🎂🎂
Trevor, you could be playing Silas! I heard he has a greatish forehand
More field practice! Seems like there's a lot of tuff tunnel shots. Learn your straight mids & fairways & tackle the holes with confidence! Tidy up your short par putts & you got it!
Trev, do you have a structured, focused, consistent putting practice routine? If not, starting one might save us both a fair bit of anguish.
pls change the series to break par
Not bad. If you can just get your putting dialed in a little more. You can do this. I would try early in the morning, and just you and Silas again.
Hole 14 try passion off tee? Seems like a good line for it
Fancy new graphics. I like it
I saw a lot of Hyzer flips. Can the gaps be hit with a neutral disc? If so it will be a more consistent shot.
13:14 run killer
You have to try a malta. Excellent overstable mid.
9:03 should’ve worn your goodr sunglasses!
Dang hole 3 seems mental 🤣
Almost seems like a “rating” goal would be a better line. Like shoot a 1000 rated round. I guess it would be super hard to find a tournament with the same layout to get a rating read

Video 2 of asking for a scoreboard/ score animation throughout the whole video, not just after every hole.
When is Con coming back? Paternal leave/ time off is fantastic
Wow. That is nasty heat.
It’s absolutely insane to me how there are courses where there aren’t multiple permanent pin locations. And then also don’t have an indication on the tee sign. I would never want to play that course not knowing where the pins are. And they should also probably have it indicated on UDisc.
Play this course more on your own channel
We love factor
Could you add a +\- number on the beat 57 line! What is the +/- for 57? Is it +2, or -2?? Thanks,
Great round! If you avoided that double bogey I think you put up a better round than Hunter did on his series
Since it is trying to break a number, can we get total strokes and then relative to par in parenthesis i.e. 24 (+2)
Come on Travis let's go
Bro, why aren't you walking the course to see where the baskets are???
Also, whenever I'm down on my putting, I'm come here to feel better about myself. 😂 Thanks T-dog!
So like...Trev...I think you need to do one of those videos with Hunter where you tell each other what to throw and how to throw it because your disc selection on some of these shots is concerning. Things you think will flip aren't and things you think wont are and its messing you up.
Best way to break 57 is to pick a course that isnt running from you 😂 putts looking good though, keep that hyzer away!
"Slightly blinded here" bro you're wearing something on your head that would have helped with that 😂
They should have just made the challenge be even par. I get wanting to have a number in the series title but it does feel a little silly
Great intro 😂
Trevor, look at the possible layouts and set scores to break for each possible layout. I wanna see you break it and if you have to shoot 1030 to break the score it won’t happen

I have a Barela roc 3 for you if I can find out how to get it to you
I always kneel on a disc if I gotta take a knee
Honestly Trevor, you absolutely need to change the challenge to going -2 and not a certain number of strokes. These constant pin location changes are making this impossible for you.
Trevor have you ever thrown a shark? Might be a nice addition to the bag
When are you guys moving to 4k?
I mean. If the Holes are changing, the break score should changes aswell? I understand the challenges is “break 57” but should be flexible IMO
Ya if multiple par 3’s are now par 4’s, 57 is even lower under par. It’s basic math and they’re choosing to punish themselves.
Hats block the sun from your eyes when you wear it regular
putt looks better. hand is opening to the target nicely
Trevor the people have spoken... PLAY RELATIVE TO PAR. Isnt fair to chase a 57, when the difficulty gets harder deoending on who places a basket where. Keep it the same difficulty
This would have to be the hardest course in the world if you think shooting -3 from the longs is close to an 1100 rated round
Said it at the beginning, "Break 58."
So you needed to shot 5 under that’s crazy
Y'all gotta change the goal. Having the random long to short switches from hole to hole really kills the consistency and gives you no shot of actually breaking it. The goal should be relative to par. That's the most fair
Change the par to 60 for all longs (still unfair but maybe a bit more doable).
Not a huge fan of the new font for the score graphic. Its really tough to read at a glance, especially since it kind of wiggles too.
Maybe it's time to bodanza it up and do some form work to gain 30-40 feet, it would help a lot
