Irish pub culture is dead or dying .40 years ago my village had 20 pubs it now has 5 and many of them aren't the owners principle income anymore.In the cities you will still find pubs ,because drinking and driving is not an issue,but even there among young people the culture is changing towards buying cheap alcohol in supermarkets and drinking in the house and from their to the nightclub. Summer is a great time for festivals and sports events namely the GAA championships in gaelic football and hurling
