Interesting, I have always driven, never walked.
Now we all know how 👍

Mentioned earlier that I was from Niagara Falls but live in Florida since retiring from the Navy.
When I was growing up there were two popular swimming areas on the Canadian side, one was the Dufferin Islands just a short walk from the Rainbow Bridge, and the other was the Cyanamid pool just a short walk from another bridge.
No passport was required and we were young teens walking into Canada without adults and border Agents on both sides were friendly and asked were we were born and if we were bringing anything in.
    No problems.

Real ID is a federally compliant form of identification that meets higher security standards for air travel and accessing federal facilities. Enhanced ID, in addition to being Real ID compliant, allows for easier cross-border travel to Canada, Mexico, and some Caribbean countries by land or sea without the need for a passport. The states that offer Enhanced IDs are Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington.

Originally from Niagara Falls but live in Florida now since retiring from the Navy.
Had to laugh when you mentioned El Paso, because US 62 starts at the border in both the Falls and El Paso.
