Bill Beutel is forever a legend in New York. I remember watching him in the first 5 years of my life in East Keansburg, New Jersey. When I was born, he was with Roger Grimsby until Roger got the ax and was replaced by John Johnson in 1986. Bill was the suave anchorman and Roger was hardass as he never smiled. We miss you Bill, rest well.
He was a large part of my childhood and my perception of the world around me. Such good memories... and what a voice. There aren't men like this anymore. See you in heaven Bill. ❤️
The anchors of old gave the impression that they really knew what was going on. These was a calming that came with the news. Bill was a great example of this. His voice is my Childhood.
My three words for the great Bill Beutel: A newsanchor's newsanchor. I am so glad I grew up watching this man. I was born in 1992, the era of Peter Jennings, Roz Abrams and Bill Beutel, A newsanchor's newsanchor.
There are few true news anchors now. Bill Beutel, Roger Grimsby, Peter Jennings, Michele Marsh and the gold standard - Walter Kronkite - all gone. The world is a lesser place without them. Tom Brokaw is missed as well. Only Dan Rather remains to keep things balanced.

5:30 or so in... who knew, even about 10 or 11 years ago, where Donald Trump would be now...?
