I started brewing AACT in 2011, self taught microscopy, I stopped 3yrs ago because extracts are so much easier, nothing can go wrong. I stopped using an air pump to do the extractions this yr, now I use a paint stirring bit on a drill, 60 seconds and it's done, add foods, apply. I tested the air extraction (6 port pump) Vs paint stirrer under the scope (Johnson-Su compost) I had to dilute the paint stirrer mix 7:1 to get the same numbers as the air extraction, no microbes were harmed in the making of this post :)
Idk what your opinion on the microbes is, but I find AACT to be too random and a bit limited in the types of microbes that can multiply inside the tea. Stopped using them and went for extracts too
@@santiagolizarraga1190 that's a fair assessment. Extract has a much higher diversity, look at the vermimicrobiomeproject there's a post with the picture of Troy Hinke on the front page (the vermicompost tea guy from Rodale) they did DNA tests on the tea Vs the Extract with Troys tea, the results speak for themselves, brewing teas reduces diversity by multiple oders of magnitude. Also most people stopped adding molasis like 10 yrs ago because it goes anaerobic as the microbes breed so fast they use up all the O2, even in farm scale commercial brewers. I only add humic acid, kelp, and rocksalt to my extracts.

Please make the large scale! If you could do large scale for farms for most of your videos, it would be awesome. I work at a large farm, and have applied what you post at large scale, but not as efficient as I would like. Thank you very much!
this video here will show how to make the brewer to make 55 gallons... this can be diluted 10x and still be absolutely effective... so 500 gallons at a time can be applied via sprayer or drip lines so long as its filtered finely ua-cam.com/video/Jo0sV0712C4/v-deo.html
About the only thing I use now. Easy to make, doesnt burn plants, visible results, soil builder. Sometimes I add a couple of lumps of rotten grass clippings to the bag to get the fugal count up a little.
I've been trying all your ferments etc and they are all fantastic......thankyou so much for sharing your knowledge with us all. I really cannot wait to try this new concoction!😄
We would all love to have that video made in a 55 gallon drum. It's amazing and we all need a big supply. Getting the other additions will have everyone learning how to make these awesome recipes. Thank you Nate for educating us. I'm old but I can still learn.
I try to use a compost tea with worm castings and molasses about every 2 weeks. I just got some kelp meal delivered and now I can add that in as well. I was just top dressing the kelp meal. But after seeing this I now realize I can add it to my teas. I never even thought of that but it make perfect sense. Thanks for opening my eyes. Keep up the great work. Nate, I appreciate how you are always there for us, walking us thru every corridor in the garden! ThanQ! I'm ready for the 55 gal. mother load of nutrients, please! Doo it! Doo it! Doo it! 😉
I currently have an old coffee bucket with bit of compost and rainwater that I threw a bit of old sugar into. I let it sit for a couple days before using. Smells sweet but earthy. I call it the forbidden chocolate milk.
I've had great results with areated compost tea. You can also put the molasses inside the bag With the other stuff and the bubbles do the rest. Smells wonderful.
Yes, please, on a larger scale, I have been doing this for years. I have the pump already, and the molasses I have a 30-gallon container have been doing close to the same thing built a aerator out of PVC that fits down in the 30 gallon tank I hook the hose to it works great
I recently started putting my tea into a chapin sprayer so I can soak the leafs (both sides!) and it makes them look EVEN BETTER than just watering with the tea. Definitely try it out! (You can dilute it further in water if that makes you feel more comfortable using it that way)
Second year using only home made fertilizers, aerated teas are a big part. I take it another step further by using a microscope to see exactly what is in the tea, pretty interesting..
