When the doors opened on both coaches, I didn't know where to turn so I didn't swivel the camera. Oh well. The NWS has downgraded to only 92 instead of 95. It is 73 now and rising quickly. Good afternoon Mike from 70 cloudy/ sunny mid Tenn. Looks like we are in for at least 7 days sunshine 70 days with nights 50-60. I can stand it! NE Tenn & western N Carolina really got hit with flooding, I 40 at Tenn/NCarolina line washed out plus lots of roads in NC and Tenn impassible. My family( daughter) in Citrus Springs FL lost power just 24 hours unlike lots of other folks. Their church in Crystal River ( near the Gulf) storm surge went over their new barrier and damage in most of church. Only been 1 years since that happened & they got back in bldg In March of this year. Oh my!

I too heard the rooster and although too faint for the camera mic. there was an owl in the distance. It was on the south side of the tracks. The rooster overpowered that own with the crowing. I don't think we will see any rain here for at least 3 weeks or more. By that time, it should fall as snow. LOL! I hope that you have a wonderful afternoon and evening down there. @@carolynsteed3649 I caught the owl while I was on my walk before the train arrived. I had to stop and really listen. Between the dogs and the rooster, it was there. I know it was south of the depot, across the tracks and I think in a large tree about a block away. Not too common any more here.

Saturday night I got to see the westbound Empire Builder stop at the station in St. Cloud, Minnesota. It looked to be on time - 1:09 am. St. Cloud is a crew change point as I saw some conductors getting off the train and others getting on. After the crew change, I saw a passenger board one of the sleepers. The next town on the line has a "no horn" ordinance, so the train didn't sound the customary 2 short blasts. This is a very busy line, about 40 trains per day. It used to be double track but was converted to a single-track line with sidings.

I used to have relatives there and have not set foot in the Twin Cities in many years. You also have the newer regional Borealis between St. Paul and Chicago. It would be nice to see them both. Yeah good afternoon Mike I saw that crescent Moon earlier in the video. I'm thinking that's pretty sharp. Yeah that hot weather just isn't lighting up. At least not where you are it gets a little crisp at night now. But in the daytime it just gets hot as the blazes. And so we had some rain yesterday and Friday night. But it's just been cloudy back here. So you know what I'm going to watch the rest of the video to see what happens with the brakes. Have a great day out there and stay safe.

We are living up to the moniker of "The Grear American Desert" out here. Should continue thru the first 3 weeks of October. Then the bottom will fall out of the thermometer, and we will go directly into winter. LOL! Not unusual. I think that was a rolling brake test as the accelerated shortly after the brake squeal ended. I am unsure what the issue was in the engine but seemed to be corrected and the check of the brakes seemed ok. No. We didn't make 95 but have made 92 which was the downgraded temp issued this morning by NWS. Have a stout wind from the south. I am with you in my thoughts and prayers are with those hit by that storm back east. Saddened to read of the loss of life. I am aware that the Red Cross is sending a team from Colorado to assist back there. News casts have showed them loading up with portable equipment as well. I did scan for it but I think it is too low in the sky to be seen over the buildings and trees to the southeast of the station. I may move to a slightly different location to see if I can spot it tomorrow morning. It will also be visible in the evenings later in October.
