I am very surprised to say this, but I'm more interested in a wider variety of SOG's new offerings than I have been from any of the companies so far. Good work!
When you hear TOPs Knives say they are pulling back their offerings this year to catch up, its shocking to see how many new products SOG is coming out with. Was very impress and definitely picking up several of these models.
@@spinfrost yeah, I liked the look of that bugout knock-off and the fixed blade version of it. Hopefully they're not crazy expensive by the time they get to the UK.
Out of all the companies you have been with for 2022 Shot Show, SOG and Civivi had the best new designs and selections in my opinion. I expected to like the Civivi releases, but SOG hit it out of the park for 2022! Well done.
Agree with the SOG review but for me I've become bored and unimpressed with Civivi's products in 2021 and once again they continue to repeat and copy themselves in what they flock as new designs
@@paragonknight3307 If your a true knife enthusiast you’ll love SOGs release.. If your a yuppie material snob it will go right over your head. Let’s go Brandon
SOG is definitely having a huge paradigm shift at the moment. The push for them to rebrand this year and come in strong with intuitive designs has my wallet shaking. As a guy who has been collecting knives for ages, its nice to feel that again after so many years.
I've never been a fan of SOG, owning only the Aegis. However they seem to be heading in the right direction. Keep it up with the American steels and hopefully completely Made In The USA !!!
SOG is quickly surpassing Kershaw and CRKT with their creative, functional and high quality knives at a price point that makes those other companies look greedy. Sorry but I’m not paying $50-$130 Canadian for a knife with 7cr or 8cr steel when I can get a SOG with D2 or S35vn for the same price. You guys are blowing away the competition like nothing I’ve ever seen. Also nice Bugout competitor I’ll be sure to pick one up!
@@twatmunro I think it’s nice. So there will be others that like the knife probably not for it’s looks but it’s niche is a lighter alternative to a terminus XR or a budget competitor to the Bugout. Really like SOG's new designs. No more crazy aggressive SOG logo textured handles or any of that nonsense. Nice attractive, sleek, understated designs here. Love it.
SOG is the only brand other than Esee and Tops that I'm interested in this year. They are stepping up their game! Also the salesmans' honesty is refreshing🙌🏼
I have watched every knife company video from shot show this year and SOG had been the best (in my opinion). I do not own any SOG knives at this point...However, I will 💯 be purchasing a couple of their higher end options from the past and future!!
Ive been a SOG carrier for many years. Its been my favorite of all the knives I own. Im really liking the new designs and colors. Its been awhile since Ive purchased a new knife as they last so long. I think its time. Thank you
SOG kind of lost its way for a while there, but it seems they may be back on track. Also appreciate Jonathon Wegner's candid honesty. As everyone is saying-SOG really stepped up their game and seem to be pushing the envelope a bit (unlike some other companies which seem to be taking a back seat).
Carried a SOG Flash 2 as my EDC for years. Looks like they are making even better offerings today. Best part is omitting the ridiculous SOG billboard branding all over the knives.
My terminus xr was a POS. Took a couple hours with a Dremel and sandpaper and many hundreds of open/close cycles, re-tensioning several times along the way, and removal of the thumb studs to make it not suck. However… I’m glad to see them stepping up their game, trying to do things that aren’t wal-Mart blister pack junk. They just might become a respectable knife maker. I may try another one of their offerings eventually and see how they’re progressing. Keep going SOG. In 5 years I wanna see you making some really fantastic stuff.
I've been with SOG through all of their "brand iterations." I have several of their original, awesome, Seki-made knives from the first years of the company. Young knife collectors may not even know how truly great those knives were. I watched with real disappointment the second version of SOG as they produced truly crap knives that no one but a fool would have bought. Finally, I am excited by this new version of the company. While it has very little in common (knife-wise) with the original SOG, it seems to be successfully making back its reputation with a cohesive, high-quality lineup.
GSM the same company that bought cold steel just bought sog and cold steel's new line of knives this year looks like Walmart knives so time will tell if sog goes the same way
I own the SOG Pillar and its a great knive! I thought SOG just made low tier knive but they hit it out of the park with Pillar. I became a fan and I am glad they are doing more made in America production knives. Keep it up SOG
I appreciate them dropping the pretense of “List Price”. Almost every manufacturer has the same exact “MAP” agreement with every retailer so it’s about time we stop pretending that the knife you paid a hundred bucks for is worth one fifty
Real game changer that new line ups! Keeping the cost at low as possible , personaly i will be able to keep on, as a long time costumer for some products that smile to me 😊
Hey DCA, hey SOG, i love that 2-handed Stout "Slipjoint". Living in Germany where 1-handed operating knives can be an issue i can not thank you enough for making a few solid options for us as well. I guess it is time for me to try out a new knife ;-) Greetings and stay safe and healthy
All these companies comeing out with Non Locking versions for the International market! Me living in germany got VERY exited about those new Slippies! I had the Original Terminus Slip, but it was a little un refined so i sold it, these look MUCH BETTER! I will be picking one up!
Haven't been interested in the aegis and flash rebirths but the Altair fixed and folder look great. I'm digging the lack of visible fasteners too. Strong showing this year.
SOG has done a major redesign of all their stuff in last 2 years or so and oh man, does it show! This is one of the most exciting videos from shot show, there's so much stuff I really want!
To be brutally honest I recently realized six of the top ten knives I'm saving for are all SOGs. No one out there comes close for me. I personally have bought three assisted AEGIS. And I'm about to get another assisted trident. Seal xr is next! I've never felt even an automatic kick open as hard as the aegis/trident assisted. The D2 is phenomenal I mean beautiful. This new line I expect to sale out pretty much. These are incredibly well built for the price. Sog- wow! Y'all getting all my $!
I sell this brand for a big outfitters store. I like the new knives a lot. I'd like to see a broadening of the SOG-TAC XR line. More varieties of blade shapes, 1/4" longer, and more roundness on the edge finish of the scales. This has been what customers requested most in my area.
SOG is on it this year! Alot of good looking blades. The new slipjoint looks interesting. I like that it is more stable than the junk detent joints. Really want to get one of them in my hands.
Had some issues with the Terminus XR LTE. Exchanged it. Got the same thing with the exchange knife. It wasn't the knife it was me. I learned to be more careful with my hand placement and voila no more opening problems!
Im REALLY liking what i see from SOG these days. A welcome change after years and years of junk knives like the flash-2, Aegis-2, trident and other plastic framed knives with that stupid "piston-lock" that came from the factory pre-set with 5 years of blade play already included.
I for one need a video showing how to adjust the sheath on the Altair FX, which I think is the same type of thing they have going on several of their fixed blade sheaths. It seems to come with screws designed for hand-tightening, when no human fingers can fit in there, and I have not been able to get it tightened well....
A small 3 inch or sub 3 inch OTF would be amazing in a single edge but sub 3 inch dual edge would be ok. The little Boker USB is such a handy little EDC knife.

SOG Stepping their game up. Lots of new offerings, they’re going a good job.
Yeah, and they put a lot of thoughts into the sheet/mounting.
Also they stepped up on their steel too, instead of AUS8 and 8cromv it’s now s35vn
I was literally about to say the same thing.
They just need an unassisted aegis
Except SOG doesn't honor their warranties at all!
