Far out, I never saw that particular finish before, nice swerve. You couldn't really have a classic with JYD, but he sure drew money in that part of the country for awhile.
It's hard to believe for anyone that only ever saw him in the WWF that Junkyard Dog was a good wrestler and really over as something that wasn't a joke
The beginning, JYDs entrance gave me goose bumps. We'll never see this again. The McMahon family has destroyed the sport. They made a mockery out of it. But in the end I believe history will show that the McMahon's were the joke.
You don’t know anything about wrestling or the wrestling business. Vince has had matches that were the greatest in wrestling history, you’re incompetent and don’t know anything about smark.
@@kamfisher1714 exactly he probably never seen any of Austin’s / Rock’s / Cena’a thuganomics / Edge’s Entrances lol bout “we’ll never see this again” Not McMahon’s fault other territories let alone WCW fucked themselves up in the first place
Houston was likr St Louis, a one-town territory built around big stars coming in from all over. I wanna say that Verne Gagne owned a share of Houston later on (maybe Bockwinkel did too, but don’t quote me on that). So Houston would use mostly NWA talent, along with filling out cards with guys from the nearby territories in Texas and Louisiana. But there was one night where they were gonna have Race, Backlund and Bockwinkel all defending their world titles, but I believe Race no showed. .
Dick Bockwinkel single handed Bankrupt the AWA refusing to sell for Hogan who later became the biggest thing in the Biz ....ideal look of a non Wrestler ...more like a regular at the local bar and barber shop Gagne the worse Pro Wrestling Promoter in the History ... of the sport ..
You dont know squat, as far as pro wrestling as a sport goes Nick Bockwinkel was one of the greatest ever. Hogan was the begining of "sports entertainment", he couldnt wrestle period, Bockwinkel wasnt gonna give it up to someone like that. Verne Gagne lost the AWA cuz he was cheap, & Vince McMahon's ruthless tactics sure helped. Its the end of old school.
Bockwinkel's selling at the start of the 2nd fall is fantastic, he was the best of all time
He was one of the King's favorite opponents!
He always did for others
This has quickly become one of my favorite wrestling channels because of matches like this. Thanks Brother!!!
Man was the Dog ripped in those days
An absolute classic. Thanks for posting.
That crowd is ROCKIN at the beginning of this match, I love it.
Back when dudes were actually over.
RIP all three of them, man there all gone.

Awesome, thank you for uploading. RIP JYD
Paul Bosch/JYD/Bockwinkel/The Brain/Sam Houston Coliseum equals.....PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING. In the best possible sense of the term.
What a great classic moments ❤️
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bock did well to carry JYD in the match. One of the greatest of all time without a shadow of a doubt.

Wrestling was so much better back then!
What a wrestler Junkyard Dog was and Nick Bockwinkle they were great in their heydays. They're no longer alive(Rip).
Good for you, Junkyard Dog 🐕 a winner 🏆 couldn't ask for more. You fought well and won 🏆 👏 🙌 👍 💛🙌🤣💐🤗👍👍

Sthu
That AWA belt was so awesome …. Flair got his belt patterned after this one
JYD looks surprisingly fit and ripped here, before he let himself go.
JYD was pretty rocked up never knew he was out in the early 80s
Great match to watch!
Where was this?
Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, Texas!
Which is weird because Houston was an NWA town(Rudy Boesch). Not AWA which Bockwinkle was champion of.

This is the best shape i ever saw JYD in now if this JYD had shown up in WWF he may have become the first african american champion
good old days
JYD was yoked
all this racism. hahaha. 1982

what a load of BS
Nick was a loyal employee and did what he was told. If Verne wanted the belt on hogan, Nick would have obeyed.
