    Yes, everytime we look at your garden videos, it looks different but always so interesting. The Roscoea flowers and so weird... The Hydrangea paniculata look glorious and the Persicaria surely is doing a good job. Very lovely stroll around your amazing garden, thank you very much.

      Thank you, Fernanda. I try not to always talk about the same plants but, actually, it's not hard because in different seasons different plants call out. Wishing you a great evening!

    What a beautiful garden. My urban cottage garden is very simple but you have inspired me to add some more dahlias to my garden. They are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your joy!

    you mentioned in a previous clip liking stipa tenuissima best of all the grasses....have you come across/grown jarava ichu, and if so, what is the main difference between that and s. tenuissima?

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  4 роки тому

      I don't grow Stipa ichu but from what I can see it looks quite different to Stipa tenuissima. Stipa ichu has feathery plumes. S. tenuissima does not. Stipa ichu is deciduous though so will not be around in winter whereas S. tenuissima will. Hope this helps.

    I love your Gargoyles and the fact that you've named them. Lovely video Rachel, there are more than enough focal points in your garden that are able to attract the attention of your visitor's on 'Open Day'. I'm sure it was a big success. Your Acer Japonica Aconitifolia(did i spell that right?) has seeds. Have you tried propagating it?

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  5 років тому +1

      Hi again, Ben, and I am glad you like our gargoyles. They are almost a part of the family at this stage. I haven't tried to grow the acer tree from seed. I think one is enough for me ;-)

      Thank you so much, Jeanne, for such positive feedback. The selinum can be grown from seed too. That's how I got mine and it's handy if you want loads of plants. Happy growing!

    And you have a Sassafras!(I have always wondered what 'root beer' tastes like...)

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  5 років тому +1

      Haha. Well, actually, it isn't sasparilla as I said in the video (I put a note on the screen) but the sassafras tree makes fabulous autumn colour.

    • @benwinkel
      @benwinkel 5 років тому

      @@GardeningatDouentza Yes i saw that too late. :) I actually did some research on Root Beer. It is made from the Sassafras root bark, among other ingredients. In the USA it's no longer used because it's a suspected carcinogenic. I'm now in doubt if i still want to try Root Beer. :)
