Another Colourpop release I’m not picking up but I just want to applaud your ability to pivot on your upload schedule and content. I think it makes a lot of sense to show comparisons since I do think a lot of people who want this palette may have to wait for a restock or find different brands to make similar looks. The colors in there are beautiful and since I’m so pale, I like darker colors because they show up nicely on my skin. I’d say Taylor Wynn and I have the same color skin tones. I think the thing in the hocus pocus that I’m drawn to is the greens... but it still looks so similar to garden variety, just a few notches darker. Idk if it’s an unpopular opinion but there haven’t been colourpop releases that I’ve *really* wanted lately
Me either, so many colors are overdone, and I'm over all the pressed glitters in every palette. The greens are pretty, but I'm sure I can dupe them in my collection.
I have Untamed, Garden Variety, and Autumn's Reign.........so I'm good!😁 And passing on Hocus Pocus. Another deciding factor: I'm NOT a fan of the utter bedlam of highly anticipated launches! I don't find them exciting.....I find them extremely anxiety producing! I avoid them. If I can get a product later, I will.........if it's gone, I'm fine with that too! Thank you for the comparisons. Oh man what a nightmare that launch was!! I didn’t care about the color scheme I’m obsessed with hocus pocus and will be dressing up as them with my daughter and sister in law I was able to snag the whole collection thankfully and am excited for it!😊❤️

I love their products but they're business model kinda sucks!! They release something new every week mostly all similar, they don't restock the things everyone ones like the creme liners and the classic palettes. I ordered almost $200 worth of stuff during their labor day weekend sale. I barely got it today!!! Just unacceptable!!
Super frustrating...they need to make enough for all the influencers they send their products to and then the people who pay money for their products. Even if I wanted this collection, I didn’t even have the chance to purchase it. It doesn’t do any good for an influencer to review makeup we won’t have access to. No knock at all to Samantha, I love that she reviews these collections and more importantly offers alternatives or dupes because obviously we won’t be able to purchase these releases 😒😤🤨
Stuff is coming to Ulta, so if you are in the US you can get the collection. Ulta however no longer ships to Canada apparently. Colourpop also mentioned on Instagram that items would be coming back and to sign up for reminders.

Stood in line at ulta, managed to get the pallet (they had 40 pallets) but everything else was sold out. Now if I want the lipstick or eyeliner, I have to pay triple the price or more or take a chance on a restock.

I originally said I didn't want the Hocus Pocus palette but after this video you surprisingly made me want it 🤔🤣🤣🤣. After seeing the swatches, the formula looked much smoother than I was expecting. And I believe the Sydney Grace palette is sold out. I don't know about you, but I always "take it as a sign" 😅 that I didn't need it THAT bad. Ugh. I am waiting for my Mel Thompson Sydney grace palette it will be the first time trying Sydney grace and I’m so excited.... however I am so sad about the hocus pocus launch. Thanks for all the comparisons! I absolutely love Hocus Pocus and was super excited for this launch. I managed to grab the palette and a glitter (didn't need it, but it was so cute). Hoping to pick up some of the other pieces once it launches at Ulta. I was super behind on youtube videos and just binged all of your video from the last 2-3 weeks. Now back to things I am actually supposed to do 😂.
You did a great job with this video Samantha - swatches looked good and your descriptions of the similarities and differences were also great. I won't be getting anything from Colourpop soon, what with delivery from the Us to Australia and exchange rates etc. it's just not worth it.
Suggestion for comparison swatches next time: do shorter horizontal swatches on either side of the inside of your arm. I’ve seen it done on another channel (wish I could remember which one). It worked really well since the shades being compared were directly next to each other.

I wanted to get the Colourpop Hoccus Poccus eyeshadow pallette but after watching a few reviews and someone mentioned that two of their shades (red ones) were not meant to be used in the eyes I was like "should I or not..?"🤔 Anyway, I'm almost to the point of a heart attack because everytime I want to order both Sydney Grace's eyeshadow pallettes, Autumns Reign and Enduring Love in Deep they're always out of stock. I'm really hoping, as they wrote me back recently, that both palettes will be restocked during this month.🤞🤞
I'm gonna try to get it just because its hocus pocus. I also wanna pick up a lip duo and one of the gel eyeliners. The sigma untamed palette was the one that popped in my mind when I saw it so happy to see that comparison!
The colors in the Hocus Pocus palette (adorable packaging), are definitely your colors. They would make your eyes pop. Sydney Grace's palette is almost identical to the Hocus Pocus. Her shadow formulation is incredible. I'm loving Mel Thompson's and Sydney Grace's Tiny Marvels palette. Simply beautiful. Thanks for the comparisons, Samantha! ❤💗

This was an easy pass for me, since I hate the occult/witchcraft/Halloween themes. I'm definitely going to check out the Sydney Grace palette instead! It looks gorgeous, and I finally got my hands on their Tiny Marvels palette, so I know I will love the formula. That is such a fantastic palette that I haven't been able to make myself use anything else since I bought it!
I like your swatches Sam! The problem with the super perfected swatches is that they don't always realistically show how the shadows will appear on the eyes and they can look photoshopped. And this was sold out by the time I remembered when I got the email from colourpop. Which is fine. I just ordered the Pat palette (which is big for me) and the Marc Jacobs holiday. I know I am buying either a quad or palette on my birthday (between Suqqu and Charlotte and Pat) and I might get glam on black friday or during the Sephora sale (although I've done my holiday makeup shopping so early this year, I feel on makeup overload and kind of want a few months of a nobuy just to play with it). And that feels like way a lot for the year. (Unless Natasha releases a holiday palette). And this is close enough to untamed that I don't feel FOMO because Sigma's formula is just outstanding and it has the tones (or close enough) that I want from this palette. But I do love Hocus Pocus so much. I'm going to look on etsy to see if I can get some cute Hocus Pocus vibes decoration for my office.

I am really not thrilled with them right now. First world problems I know. It’s 2020 brands know how many people would want this palette. They waited an hr and a half to say they are going to launch the next day. I took off work early so that I could get it to review for my channel. I am just not happy. Again, first world problems, just not happy. So I have to work today, hopefully I will get something. Thank you for reviewing. Maybe this will change my mind all together🤎
Yup Hocus pocus is one of my favorite...More of a collection type for me...I landed the palette but every eyeliner was sold out within THREE mins bummer. I had to wait in line for a total of 7 mins, with two gaptcha to assure im not a robot by that time all eyeliners were sold out but again I did get the palette
I did manage to get the purple liner but the green sold out before I could get it. I had the same deal as you but I kept trying to process on pay pal and it wouldn't take it until the end after I filled out all my info already. So if it hadn't been for that I might have gotten the liners I wanted. I do see on the website that this will be available on Ulta on 10/4! Maybe you can get liners then if you still really want them.

I wanted to get the Colourpop Hoccus Poccus eyeshadow pallette but after watching a few reviews and someone mentioned that two of their shades (red ones) were not meant to be used in the eyes I was like "should I or not..?"🤔 Anyway, I'm almost to the point of a heart attack because everytime I want to order both Sydney Grace's eyeshadow pallettes, Autumns Reign and Enduring Love in Deep they're always out of stock. I'm really hoping, as they wrote me back recently, that both palettes will be restocked during this month.🤞🤞
I'm gonna try to get it just because its hocus pocus. I also wanna pick up a lip duo and one of the gel eyeliners. The sigma untamed palette was the one that popped in my mind when I saw it so happy to see that comparison!

The colors in the Hocus Pocus palette (adorable packaging), are definitely your colors. They would make your eyes pop.
Sydney Grace's palette is almost identical to the Hocus Pocus. Her shadow formulation is incredible. I'm loving Mel Thompson's and Sydney Grace's Tiny Marvels palette. Simply beautiful.

I am loving all the Colourpop collections like that but I haven't gotten any. Thanks for the comparison and your help. I'm pretty sure I won't be getting this. It's a really pretty palette though.

This was an easy pass for me, since I hate the occult/witchcraft/Halloween themes. I'm definitely going to check out the Sydney Grace palette instead! It looks gorgeous, and I finally got my hands on their Tiny Marvels palette, so I know I will love the formula. That is such a fantastic palette that I haven't been able to make myself use anything else since I bought it!
I like your swatches Sam! The problem with the super perfected swatches is that they don't always realistically show how the shadows will appear on the eyes and they can look photoshopped. And this was sold out by the time I remembered when I got the email from colourpop. Which is fine. I just ordered the Pat palette (which is big for me) and the Marc Jacobs holiday. I know I am buying either a quad or palette on my birthday (between Suqqu and Charlotte and Pat) and I might get glam on black friday or during the Sephora sale (although I've done my holiday makeup shopping so early this year, I feel on makeup overload and kind of want a few months of a nobuy just to play with it). And that feels like way a lot for the year. (Unless Natasha releases a holiday palette). And this is close enough to untamed that I don't feel FOMO because Sigma's formula is just outstanding and it has the tones (or close enough) that I want from this palette. But I do love Hocus Pocus so much. I'm going to look on etsy to see if I can get some cute Hocus Pocus vibes decoration for my office.

Hi Samantha! Thanks for this video! I was highly considering the palette, but I decided not to because I own the BH Cosmetics Royal Affair palette and I find it to be VERY similar to the CP Hocus Pocus palette! If you own the BH palette definitely compare the two!!😁

I am really not thrilled with them right now. First world problems I know. It’s 2020 brands know how many people would want this palette. They waited an hr and a half to say they are going to launch the next day. I took off work early so that I could get it to review for my channel. I am just not happy. Again, first world problems, just not happy. So I have to work today, hopefully I will get something. Thank you for reviewing. Maybe this will change my mind all together🤎

I think Hocus Pocus is multigenerational. Sailor Moon is a bit more of a niche and far newer. Loved the video and your gorgeous green eye look.

Yup Hocus pocus is one of my favorite...More of a collection type for me...I landed the palette but every eyeliner was sold out within THREE mins bummer. I had to wait in line for a total of 7 mins, with two gaptcha to assure im not a robot by that time all eyeliners were sold out but again I did get the palette

I did manage to get the purple liner but the green sold out before I could get it. I had the same deal as you but I kept trying to process on pay pal and it wouldn't take it until the end after I filled out all my info already. So if it hadn't been for that I might have gotten the liners I wanted.
I do see on the website that this will be available on Ulta on 10/4! Maybe you can get liners then if you still really want them.
