2:11 pretty sure thats Olavinlinna. It's in a freshwater lake in Northern-Savonia, Savonlinna. Suomenlinna is a saltwater fort near Helsinki 9:00 Yeah, the Santa village is a tourist trap, but its fun especially if you have children.
There are traps everywhere, Disney Land, Lego Land, Central Park, Vatican... Santa Village is also a tourist service Center... for Reindeer hike, Snowmobile safaris and so on...
19:06 The highest point in Finland is the peak of Haltitunturi , located in the municipality of Enontekiö, Lapland. The highest point on the Finnish side of Halti is 1,324 meters above sea level . The actual peak of Halti, which is slightly higher (1,365 meters), is located on the Norwegian side.
"Network of bridges connect the castle to the modern town." I lived in Savonlinna for 10 years and I can tell you that there is one small pontoon bridge, that can be moved out of the way if boats are coming, so if that is a network then ok. Smoked Vendace is almost all canned so you don't get that from the market place fresh. The small white fish is always served fried in butter. I fried the fish on Savonlinna market for 5 summers and it's way better than in Kuopio. 🤣
My friends family has a summercabin in the middle of nowhere, about 200km north from Helsinki. One summer he had been there in holliday and one morning he goes to the outdoor toilet. After a while he heard some puffing and snorting and thought that either his father or his cousin was playing a joke on him, and shouted "Don't much make me laugh, go to hell for puffing like that!" Well, the sound died down, but after a while his father shouted him to get out of that toilet, there's a bear in there!
Turku Cathedral is lutheran today, but when it was built it was catholic. It's really worth a visit. There's some historic art (like in all old churches) but the colours are just something very unique. You cannot really observe it in pictures, you must SEE them.
I'm actually born and raised Ålander, living here is pretty much the same as the mainland, maby a bit more picturesque, and definitely a local tourist destination for swedes and finns in the summer. Since we are a small group of people, it's not unusual that we meet people that we've met before, and you could jokingly say that "everyone knows everyone" here. What more? Local government, great entrepreneurial spirit overall, lots of history, both maritime and military. Would definitely recommend a visit!
I don't sleep that much during the summer when it's light outside even at night time. In winter when it's almost completely dark, I could sleep all the time. I need to learn how to hibernate. 😅
Yay, Kuopio my hometown! Finally even someone thinks we are one of the best places in Finland 👍 I would add to the video though, that we really appreciate culture here in Kuopio and are guite known for it. Also, one of the best finnish genuises Pertti "Spede" Pasanen is from Kuopio (rest in peace). You have already seen many Spede's works and videos in Uuno Turhapuro and also in Spede show 👍
10:48 Å : Often pronounced in Swedish and Norwegian as [oː] (long round vowel) or [ɔ] (short). It resembles the long O in Finnish . Å : Developed from medieval Latin letters and meaning "river" in Swedish (e.g. Åbo, Ångermanland). It was added to the Latin alphabet in Scandinavia in the 16th century, replacing the combination "aa" .
Most foreign visitors find it hard to sleep during the "midnight sun period" or during the summer in general as the sun sets only for few hours. however, many people just use really thick curtains to make their sleeping room dark in the night. "Pimennysverhot" could be called in english as "blackout curtains". Simple as that. But yes, it is also hard for many native citizens to get sleep during the summer due to light. But good, thick curtains are the answer. Also, most standard level hotels do not have these darkening curtains, so it may be difficult to get sleep for a traveller...
2:08 That's Olavinlinna in Savonlinna. Suomenlinna is an island fortress in Helsinki. The name "Suomenlinnna" is misleading, for there is no castle there. 6:45 Yes, Saimaannorppa is small seal. Males weight only around 100 kg.
It's easy way to know when you should go to sleep here in Rovaniemi on summer time. We just to to sleep when we are tired And we Haven little things here.. We Calle those a clock. You can check what Time it is.. 😜😂 (just messing with you. Great reactions)
The position of the Arctic Circle is not fixed; as of 17 January 2017, it runs 66°33′46.5″ north of the Equator.[1] Its latitude depends on the Earth's axial tilt, which fluctuates within a margin of 2° over a 40,000-year period, due to tidal forces resulting from the orbit of the Moon.[2] Consequently, the Arctic Circle is currently drifting northwards at a speed of about 15 m (49 ft) per year. Only 5 peaks in Finland are over 1000m above sea. Most Mountains/Tunturi is 500-800 meter above the sea.
These commercially produced videos always show the best sceneries and landscapes in the country. Reality is exactly what you see in Finland.
Yes, nice from Hanko to Nuorgam
300 km down from Arctic circle, still not darkes at night. Just❤️

Yep. And often the natives sleep in hut that have no window. Called granary or barn. No other use for them in the summer.
In winter the sun doesn't rise for a few weeks, You get used to them.

He didn't mention Tampere, it's a beautiful city, and I think it's the best, I live in Oulu.
No Utsjoki, Kilpisjärvi or Urho Kekkonen National Park?
"tervetuloa kanavalleni" or "mun kanavalle" :)
Lappi on hieno paikka. Videolla näytetään aika paljon Lapin paikkoja. Mielestäni saisi näyttää enemmän muuta Suomea.
Salla is behind God's back
