my first time traveling rt 66 was by motorcycle in 1964 traveling to all the states that summer and last time was July 1967 coming home from Barstow California before going to Viet Nam best summer i ever had

I spent the nov dec holiday period working at Bell Textron in Amarillo. Had my RV parked at end of that runway and every weekend C5 aircraft did touch&goes all day long.
That canyon is more area but not as deep or pretty as Grand Canyon. I personally like the Arkansas Grand Canyon off AR-7 near Jasper just as much
I've been by the Caddy ranch but was never able to stop, Maybe some day.
Beautiful I can't imagine driving a herd of cattle, sheep or horses in that terrain in the old western days. Pretty hard.

The trees in Oklahoma are the same, nothing like Arkansas trees! That was one huge bear at the steak house!

I grew up there ! David you need to check out some Hoyt Axton music, he was an awesome singer / songwriter from I think Duncan, Oklahoma,which is east of Lawton. The song "Della and the Dealer" would be something you might get a kick out of ! Evangelina is a beautiful song too ! Hoyt was quite a story teller when he wrote songs !!
