I am from India and stiu putin romana. There are more than 10 or 15 or more words. I found similar in Indian language hindi and in Romanian. Due to indo-european connection
The connection is indeed present, I've heard a word many times in hindi (mostly in Bollywood movies) the word dushman, I was thinking it looks very similar to the Romanian word, we say Dușman - same thing but a bit different stress (And in Romanian it means enemy ). And man I did not know it's from Sanskrit. Indeed there are many connecitons between Indo-European languages, that's why they're called Indo-European
Thanks ! I don't think I did very well at today's lesson though. It reminds me of learning French all those years ago (and I still can't speak that properly either).
And I thought the most used word is "da" = yes followed by "dar" = but. Cause most Romanians begin their phrases like "Da dar ..." = "Yes but ..." even if they actually mean "Absolutely not" ...
Officially, no. Inofficially, yes - this due to a slightly different accent, as well as frequent use of Russian words (as you may know, Moldova used to be one of the 15 Soviet republics, during which time the language was written in the Cyrillic alphabet). In the heavily disputed area of Transnistria, the official name is Moldovan (same case in Ukraine), whereas the Moldovan constitution itself uses the Salomonic phrasing "limba de stat" (literally "language of the state"). I guess the difference can be best described as, say, Broad Australian English vs. colloquial Ulster English. Same language, but with each its regional differences - as well as speakers of one variant may need some time to "tune in" to the other. :)
Djulieta, I'm really sorry to do this to you, but "și" is a conjunction, not a preposition. And prepositions are, in turn, spelt just like that. "Propositions" are "suggestions".
More lessons please.

Thank you a lot, difficult to hear and repeat the words because it's a bit too fast for me.
I think it's a good way to learn.

Are there any major vocabulary differences between the Romanian spoken in Romania and the version spoken in Moldova?

@@dancroitoru364 Hehe...true that. They're all kind and beautiful, these Romanian/Moldovan women, but, man, you do _not_ want to piss them off. 😂🤣

Hello Juliette. Are you in Romania now?
Cine naiba e Juliette ? 🤔

@@TarebossT Dar numele ei este Djulieta, nu Juliette. Ok, bine, "aceeași diferență" din punct de vedere etimologic......but still. 😃
