  • This video shows how to replace the O-Rings on a moen shower faucet. Over time the O-Rings swell and material accumulates that makes it increasingly difficult to turn the handle. After replacing the O-Rings the faucet handle will be easy to turn.
The materials needed are listed below and can be found in the plumbing section of a hardware store or ordered on amazon:
    3 x Plumbing O-Ring #10 (O.D. 11/16", I.D. 1/2", Wall 3/32")
    1 x Plumbing O-Ring #14 (O.D. 15/16", I.D. 3/4", Wall 3/32")
A very small amount of silicone grease
Note - A common, but much more expensive, alternative solution is simply to replace the whole cartridge. If you prefer to replace the whole cartridge, this video includes cartridge removal and install directions.

Man. This looks so easy. Mine isn't pulling out for the life of me.

They make a tool for it. It is plastic and fits over the beige plastic kinda like a socket then you rotate it and twists the cartridge - look at how the "ears" of the cartridge will ride up on the slant of the brass housing and force the cartridge out from the wall. If you can get something on there and twist the cartridge (without breaking it) then it should come outwards.
