In all of WoW's history there is no zone that left me in excitement and awe, than Hellfire Peninsula. Reaching level 58 and finally stepping though that dark portal - what an amazing feeling.
It looks way more stunning in game, specially considering the variety and non static environment/footage vs what's presented in this montage. The sky is a good example, if you turn your camera up in game, it's way more vibrant and realistic than in this video footage. People are easily fooled by video definition applied to a few pixels in the middle of the screen. And i'm saying this as a former wow player, i don't have anything to do with microsoft and with what they did to this franchise.
Ner'zhul was never a warlock. He was a shaman, fel was never his power. His destruction of Draenor was a result of his haste and carelessness while casting a spell to open a portal. This spell was cast using 3 artefacts that corresponded directly to 3 constellations visible at that precise moment, the Seer, thr Tome, and the Scepter (represented respectively by his use of the Eye of Dalaran, the Book of Medivh and the Staff of Sargeras). The celestial alignment amplified the spell, as did his location while casting it, atop the Black Temple on a nexus of ley lines. He had no idea that his spell would be as powerful as it was. His casting opened dozens of portals all across Draenor, not just one as he intended. The whole thing was an accident in truth. But he was never a Warlock, not even after he became the Lich King
1:20 IIRC, Ner'Zhul didn't tear Draenor apart intentionally. Rather, his ritual to open dozens of portals into new worlds so that the Horde could escape into those and start anew, backfired and tore the world apart. Also, during that time frame, Ner'Zhul would go around with a skull painted in white on his face, so that ought to have been included in what is presumably his depiction, at 1:18.
@@yaboityler2617 You didn't explicitly say it, but the phrasing ( ... rather than see it conquered) implies it. Hence my reaction. IIRC, in the novel Beyond the Dark Portal, Ner'zhul didn't exactly know this would happen before the ritual.
@tiffles3890 yeah you're right. I cut a lot out of the script and maybe that was too much. Originally the video would have been 10+ minutes. But it takes hours to render these stupid 4-12 second clips.
Presumably, for a single person, you did quite a good job crafting this video. As a fellow Blizzard/WoW-inspired storyteller and content creator (this is my personal account), I would like to offer some feedback on areas that could potentially be improved (as I wish someone had done this for me to speed up my storytelling process). Since it appears that the video is mostly AI-generated, the voice/narration lacks contrast, variation, and a second voice. My instinct judged it as somewhat monotonous around the 50-60% mark of the video. What fascinates me about WoW videos is how they sometimes accent individual emotions by incorporating super close shots and contrasting them with others. I don’t think you incorporated such, They are also more about “expressing how someone feels on a deep level”. Your shots were predominantly background, wide, or long. Good luck man. Art is love & love is art.
Well I hate to stress this point over and over again. But it's not art. It's a silly video I made in my spare time. Literally Vegeta's super Sayain theme over Illidan stomping out Magtherodin. And thanks for the advice. You're absolutely right. I need more close-ups and definitely closeups that "look warcraft." Not some generic fantasy setting. As for a second narrator, I'll probably try to incorporate some voice clips from Blizzard, but I want a very documentary style video when it comes to the overall theme. Cheers!
Trepidation recalled entering Outlands .. and that blasted Fel Reaver ... now dies every chance I get. More please ... so so much more of WoW to feature.
Nah you didn't go too far. I played wow since original warcraft. And this looks great and wow-like. With a touch of the 50s panorama look. If you don't see warcraft in this you are blind.
1st i thought "looks a little different. maybe a new animator or different representation of the things?. then i said "wow, illidan got bigger! :O " then i realized it was AI :D
I wish it looked that cool in game. Even in W.O.D. though it looked way cooler before being totally ravaged, it didn't look as cool as this video makes the zone look.
Illidan man I'm bad at spelling but you was a fals protagonist now your a protagonist.....honestly where is sylvanas man we need her now more than ever
man we need a world of warcraft 2 so bad. Just imagine Outland in current day graphics or engine. They could just start with vanilla but with super graphics and do everything better. Instead of blood elves in the horde during TBC they should give Ogres who are native to Outland while blood elves could just be an antagonistic faction of Kael'thas in the first expansion. Then they could add Forest trolls and High elves in Wotlk expansion with Eversong forest and Ghostlands being invaded by the scourge thus making both races move to Northrend for safety starting their new adventures there. That's how I always wanted the first two expansion to be . They were so close but Blizzard ruined it and 20 years later we still don't have Ogres, Forest trolls and proper High elves. They really just added elves to the horde because "horde needs pretty" race excuse... what a load of bullshit
This was really really well made! I'm once again suprised how close you got to the actual looks and details of what it is you are portraiting. This was suprisingly enjoyable to watch!
@@Deep_Owl Yes, that's the point of my remark. It's pretty accurate to the visual source material even though it's made through the lense of AI, which doesn't really always know exactly, what you want from it.
