A long term project of refinement which always yields more learning! That’s what I love about this stuff.
Very well detailed love IT 😎😎
This is really good stuff! Your channel is very concise and to the point. I also saw your library of movements, as a beginner in locomotion it's gonna be very useful
I'm happy man! Starting locomotion was really confusing for me, hope the library helps!
Best video yet, please keep this up

That intro looks creepy. Easy too. I'm gonna try it!

Forgive me for my idiocy, Master Lizard.

Awesome videos mate! Appreciate all this information and super helpful
your welcome Adam, let me know if theres any particular movements you would like videos on!
Quick and slow both are needed for agility with strength. Can you do a vid on stengthening the glutes with taking into consideration with the spine for improving mobility with strength.
Lizard Cool!
progress roll and pivot on pisiform

Utthana Pristhasana in yoga.

Good stuff mate.
How do you not have more subs? This was awesome mate. New sub here 👍
❤❤
waiting for lizard.....tnx
Hi Phaon, thank you very much for this Video! I am a beginner currently progressing through the twist & reach with pushup. Last time I was training I came up with the idea to do the lizard move backwards in this step. I did not find this move in this or your other tutorials. It think this will help a lot to quickly build more strength in the upper body. Try it and let me know what you think. P.S. (I have not seen a real lizard actually moving backwards, sideways or moon walk either, if this comment should therefore contradict your philosophy of a "natural" movement just forget it :-))
You can try doing the Lizard Crawl backwards. It's much harder than forwards :)
great breakdown! best one i've seen so far!
just one question - what is the right breathing pattern? inhale when reaching forward? it seems like the hardest part with 2 points of contact
thanks
Hey - there is no right breathing pattern. Ultimately you should be able to breathe however you wish whilst performing the movement. As you are learning, it could be useful to inhale and hold the pressure at the parts of the crawl which are the most difficult for you, such as when one hand is lifted. However we want to head towards normal breathing throughout the movement, just like when you are walking.
@@thepassivehang Thank you for the quick reply - will try it!
I thought it might be like a pushup/bench press but it felt weird, plus got me winded fast
How many do you do in a workout
What about training for speed with this movement ? Is it possible to go fast ? And Also uphill / downhill ?
All great ideas, you can do all of the above. Best is you give a try and see what you find.
Great stuff !!
I noticed that you emphasize the using of the pisiform more than once.. Can you tell me please what is the idea or the importance of it?
Hey Tal, it's about learning to manipulate your base of support so you can move your torso into advantageous positions. If you cannot pivot freely on your hands, it becomes harder to manipulate your centre of mass (torso/hips) into position so you can move efficiently across the ground. Easiest way is to just try it - try crawling and pivoting with a flat hand or across the first knuckles/fingers with your weight on the front part, versus keeping it on the heel of your hand and freely pivoting. Something worth exploring and feeling the difference!
No one ever states how many should be done in a good workout please advise
Hey man, it's individually dependent. If you're just starting, I would recommend choosing a progression you can work on continuously for 1 minute. Then you can do 3-5 sets of 1 minute crawls. Over time you can increase intensity by either - increasing length of set from 1 minute to more, or do more sets, or increase the difficulty level of progression. I hope that helps.
This video is incredible ... I spent the last 90 minutes looking for and watching videos on crawling, and especially lizard crawling, and I finally found THIS video -- why did it take so long? This is BY FAR the best video on crawling I came across. It's fantastic. I'm 75 and this video's breakdown of the progressive sequence of crawls to learn will be the ticket to my progress. Thank you, you're a wonderful instructor. Thumbs up, and I subscribed.
Good on ya for taking this on at 75! I hope it's going great for you. I agree, the progressions is broken down really well here, and the details are helpful
