    You could get a cricut machine and cut out your entire design from vinyl and transfer if on your sign.
    You can create tshirts, wall plaques, water bottles with your logo.
    The opportunities are endless.

    I feel like the original name of the estate should also be on the front gate because it's a historical property. Chateau de la Tuilerie is a beautiful name.

      Hello Barbara, together with our logo, it says both names out there on the signs at the main entrance.
      To our information from the Notaires office, our chateau is not listed as monument historique, BUT because our land borders the village Gluges we have to adhere to the same rules anyway. Gluges which is a 8-10 minute walk from us is listed as monument historique. Bo

    I suggest going to a chateau that has been doing bed and breakfast for a while (Ex: LaLande of Chateau Dairies) and follow them around as they do rooms and their storage methods. I’m sure Stephanie would be open to that. Ask for her advice since she’s been doing it for years.

    Wow Karen that look fantastic! I think it looks really professional and of course the savings are phenomenal. It would cost a fortune to use a professional sign manufacturer. Maybe consider putting a top coat on it to protect all of your hard work! It will keep the weather off and keep it from flaking off. Bo what great idea to have an agreement with the farmer to cut more hay and expand your garden. It's a win for everyone! The garden and park are going to be beautiful when it's all done. English lesson this time...;-) "the farmer made hay bails". A bail is an amount of money set by a judge or law enforcement to have a prisoner released from jail (bail-jail is how I remember they belong together - same spelling) following a criminal charge. The word you are looking for is "bale" - from the Merriam Webster dictionary: gathering alfalfa or grass to make up into a bale in the field; baling hay (the action of) ; hay baler (the machine that rolls the hay). Loved your freehand design of the gate sign. Good job! Good luck Bo with the garden expansion! The fruit on the tree looks to be a crab apple. Good for jams - Just make sure that it is not an ornamental crab, as those are only good as bird and animal food. The 2nd tree shown with the oblong fruits is definitely an ornamental crab apple. Do not eat those. I'd suggest cutting off a 1 meter length of branch with fruits and leaves of both trees and taking them to a local greenhouse that sells fruit trees in your area. They would be the best to identify them.

      Thank you for the recommendations. The new park will definitely be interesting to watch develop over the coming years. We found several fruit tree’s on the property, so we thought to ask you guys with a better knowledge about such things to see what it might be. All the best, Bo

    I would cut a fruit open to see if it has one big pit in it (Mirabelle or a Cherry? a bit early in the year for these to fruit) or when it looks like an apple inside it may be a crabapple. You can use the crabapple to make preserve. Your chateau is one of the most beautiful ones and the orangerie is the icing on the cake!

    • @BoSAChristensen
      @BoSAChristensen Рік тому +1

      Thank you Angelika, that is a good way to determine which fruit is which. Blooming season starts a bit early down here. Yes, we were lucky to find a chateau + orangery. According people from the area, this is not a common thing at chateau’s in the south of France. They’re often found in the north of France where they lack the good weather. Bo

    Bamboo can be used dry or semi-dry and when young, as long as they don't bend over, they are strong enough to plant in the ground. Just remember that their stems are hollow. You can trim the tips into points but use a very sharp axe for this, not a saw as this splits the stems.

    You should get a Cricut and then you can print signs in a few minutes. Are you going to let farmers hunt boar on your land? It does help to keep the numbers down.

    Farmer will get alot of Bsles of hay off ur property Karen. When u see the big rolled bales so close in together. This . farmer,is Smiling! He is saving alot of Feeding €€€ from your property. U can do this if u have the tractor and mower and baler. But that costs alot for machinery, versus income from the startup cost!

      Hello Sheila, we all get something out of this. The land is kept the way it should be, and we don’t have the machines to do it. It’s a win win. Bo

    Just a small French language detail for the plaque : you should write "Propriété privée" (most common) or "Privé" but not "Privée". which is not correct.
