I think when Deekshithar composed this kriti he would have been in the same state of mind what sankaran ji presented this song. I have listened various versions of vathapi, this is the only one that has done full justice to the ragam, kriti, alaapanai and everything. 🎉🎉🎉

Perfect sanskrit pronunciation bringing out the full meaning of each word of Dikshatar krithi. Many sing the raga perfectly but the words are blurred and sometimes do not do justice to the aadhyatmic beauty behind each powerful word of the song. We should just listen and listen and abosorb the raga and the phylosophical content of the song. The unquestionable pristine quality of Shakaran Namboodri will then be adequately appreciated.

Modern yes. However the best ever was Chembai. Chembai did a concert in the 60s where he did an opening to concert which a 20 minute rendition. It was incredible to hear.
