I have them on my 718 Cayman GT4 and they are the best all around performance tires on the market today(mins the Cup 2R for track days). Now the new PSS5 is out and when I'm due come next summer I'll give them a try, Ive heard they're a step up from the PS4s.
love these for everyday.. on the track they did suffer with heat and pressure build up compared to the other curs running cup 2 and cup 2Rs ( was unfortunately put in with the GR3RS cars)... just had to manage the pressure with the guys after each session... as the day went on I did struggle for traction on the high speed corners but was able to keep pace... but for daily use they have been great... even in the wet... when it comes time to change... I really dont think I will fork out the huge price difference for the Cup 2s
Great to hear you like the PS4S, currently running Dunlops on my GT4 and they are not great tbh! 👍🏻 good job
Ah, I’d highly recommend the PS4S! Although I know lots of GT4’s run cup’s 👀
@@LifeInMotionuk yes I had cups on my 981 but they are just rubbish in the wet. You have some great content btw mate
@@antscars ah i heard wet and cold, they were pretty useless! Oh thanks, appreciate it 👍🏻
Hi Jack, love your videos about your Cayman. Is it possible to do a review about the Cayman base v GTS ? As you have now owned both , I would be interested to know if it is worth the extra cost to upgrade from base to GTS?
Great to hear! I will definitely note it down, thanks for letting me know 👍🏻 but FYI, the base car is fantastic, the GTS just feels slightly more alive! Both brilliant and I only really changed because I’d had the base for a few years
Nice video! What is the price difference between the Michelins and Pirellis? Thanks!
Thanks! I’ve done a quick comparison and the Michelin’s are around £259 whereas the Pirelli’s are £263…so not really much between them!
I ordered today 4 x Michelin Pilot Sport 4S for my 718. The price difference between the Michelins and the Pirellis are 150 EUR for all Tyres in Germany.
I think that's not that much difference. But the Pirellis are also very good!
Test it on the track, the siffer the tyre more grip you have
Hi Jack. I’ve a base Cayman on order and can’t decide between alcantara or leather GT wheel. I know you’ve had both, what would you spec from new? Cheers!
Good question! I would absolutely got for the leather GT multifunction steering wheel. The alcantara is brilliant but ongoing maintenance is just frustrating for me personally. Leather would be far easier every day! Don’t forgot to subscribe 👍🏻
@@LifeInMotionuk Appreciate the advice, it will be a daily so leather might be the one. Love the Cayman content mate! Am subbed 👍
are the PZERO quiter for road noise than the PS4S ?
I thought the PS4S’s were quieter, and more comfortable. However, the Cayman is loud with wind and road noise so it’s hard to tell a huge difference
P Zero are awesome have them on my 718 they are N rated nothing wrong with them 😊
Are the Pilot Sports all weather tires?
These are not, but if you’re looking for an all weather tyre, the Pilot Sport All Season 4 is the one to look at! The PS4’s are very good in the dry, and wet, but they don’t like the cold!
@@LifeInMotionuk my son used to work at a tire shop and after I bought my Cayman, I drove out to Utah ( I'm in the LA area) and he installed Continental extreme contact dws. Those tires are pretty awesome. I've taken through snowy mountains to hot track days at willow springs and I think they are fantastic all around tires.
Oh very nice! I’ve never tried Conti’s before but good to know - enjoy the Cayman
@@LifeInMotionuki recently just switched to the pilot sport 4s all weather tires, lots of grip in the canyons!
Lousy music...unnecessary.
I have just bought the PS4S for the rear of my 981 Cayman. I already had them up front. The rears they are replacing were the Pzeros and they really have "gone off" with few mm of tread left.
*On a side note, my Fiesta ST has pilot sport 5s on. Which are bloomin awesome for the ST
Awesome! Wrapped both in good stuff - enjoy!
