@@woah6958 I suppose that was a poor choice of classification when it comes to describing all my personal favorite jazz tunes. I guess I'm just trying to say that I like your choice of music in the background.
@@Heyzeusization I wasn't trying to trap you in some debate, I just wondered what the jazz was that you liked so much. I'm always interested in finding new music.
@@woah6958 When I used the phrase 'the best jazz in history', I was thinking of jazz musicians commonly recognized as the greats such as but not limited to the likes of Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, and Miles Davis. After hearing stuff like 9 Lazy 9, Funki Porcini, and others on the Ninja Tune label, I began to recognize the jazz influences in other bands. For instance, there are two different Richard Cheese songs which directly reference Dave Brubeck's 'Take Five'. Don't even get me started on the Hip-Hop Jazzy stylings of Outkast. Even TOOL uses some polyrhythmic jazz foundations. I even like some of the Dixieland Jazz contributions in the soundtrack of Killing Zoe. In western tunings, classical and jazz seem like the basic foundations of rock 'n' roll and everything that came afterwards. Classic examples of rock 'n' roll definitely pay respect to jazz as much as they did classical music. Think of musicians like Pink Floyd, David Bowie, and Steely Dan… legendary rock 'n' roll musicians that make the high water marks often do so through jazz sounds and arrangements.

This is around the time I would have discovered jazz from my jazz band class in highschool. Ninja tune was my go toooooo
What is the best jazz in history?
