Mozart99900-He was also the teacher of Josef Hassid-perhaps the finest violinist of them all. Fritz Kreizler said "every one hundred years a Heifetz comes along, every 200 years a Hassid!

Carl Flesch ; Maestro de Excelencia .
No wonder why his students were so great! Thanks for uploading.
he's so lovely old fashioned...
Wow, he was so good. What a rare appearance. What a gem. Thanks.
❤️Handel❤️
Are we in the midst of a sweet family reunion? Appreciate all his teaching.
He played on a Pietro Guarneri Venice 1747 what he bought in 1931 and played on this violin till the end of his live.
Amazing how he slid from note to note in the first mov’t. I don’t think anybody plays like that.

I wish it was still in fashion, it's beautiful.
The Einstein of the violin! Also sprach Henryk Szeryng
Wow. My new idol!
He did have a Strad but this recording was not played on it. It was played on the "ex flesch" violin named after him, made by peter guarneri.
Thank you
What a treat to come across this recording from the early 1900's!!!
Spellbinding! Bravo! A gem of gems.
pietro guarneri Venice 1747

Great Hungarian violin tradition! Tribute!
@1perryg

I've been practicing his scale book daily for about an hour for the last I'd say 15 years...

1725 Strad "Brancaccio"
Una grabación muy de su época, por los trinos, las velocidades, las articulaciones. No hay que olvidar eso. En ese contexto, una buena grabación.
Mozart99900-Szeryng and Rubinstein do the Beethoven 5&9 sonatas, spring and Kreutzer-IMO better than any others ever did.
There is a cultural center named after him in his native, Hungarian town: fkkk.flesch.hu
Mozart99900-Josef Szigetti was also his student, and they also recorded together.
Mozart99900-Ginette Neveu was also his student.,as was Josef Hassid.
would appear so shychamleon!
Grandes nomes que não se apagaram pelo se grande talento! Amazing
thanks a lot
Great !
Lovely. Who was the accompanist?
My father - Ignace Strasfogel
Both a just great!
Realy rare perfomance!

Talent wise maybe. But Flesch's playing was artistically more refined. Hassid never got the chance to develop unfortunately.

Great violinist, hideously awful person. Bragged that he drove his own students to suicide. Crazy.
Could you give us some more details ? Thanks.
Josef hassid hat psychical problems, as much as I know Flesch wasn't the reason or do you have other informations?
Ida Haendel recalls a certain dutch student who got the full brunt of his ways and did commit suicide.
