I genuinely thought Luthen was about to kill that man. Instead, he dropped one of the best monologue speeches in Star Wars, maybe even sci fi, ever. You really don’t know what he’s going to do or capable of until he does it, but you believe him when he acts any decision out. He genuinely thinks it’s the best way forward. Great character.
Honestly I’ve never seen a character I like so much but can’t trust as a far as I can throw! You never know if he’s being genuine with people or just manipulating them
@@aylinilya. it’s the best part of the speech for me. Not only is it a cold ass line but it has a deeper meaning. People think that heroes are the ones changing the tides of a war but it’s really the puppet master behind the scenes pulling the strings. Heroes are the ones who get the medals and have statues built of them but to people like Luther they’re just another pawn to be used. That statement alone lets you know how deep the rabbit hole actually goes. It’s awesome.
I wonder what went through that imperials head. I mean, he must have realized that all that tech was way too expensive for a small pirate haulcraft. Maybe he put together that he was facing someone way above his league
This is the real rebellion Lutheran has basically no backup if he's caught he's made many sacrifices and he has a very real idea of what's a stake he's strong and has to do what he needs to not like those fancy senators they basically just sat around while people like him got there hands dirty
My neighbor/friend was visiting and his wife said The acolyte was as good as Andor. I calmly asked them to leave. The wife was confused but her husband understood and said quietly "We must leave now"
2:20 I could be wrong....but u know...someone could have put an instruction manual out saying a vow is like a marriage....🙏 I'm not judging anyone poorly....but at least there would be a framework for everyone who takes a vow....🙏
While it's visually cool scenes like these always kill the immersion for me. Yes, his ship has been pimped, but he's still a civilian up against a major Imperial warship and three TIEs + a bomber. He no-scopes half of them with ease while they don't land a single hit. Three military pilots in interceptors don't manage to scratch his paint, even when at 7:37 he keeps flying straight towards them for what seems like an eternity. The plot armour is honestly immersion breaking. The countermeasures make no sense either - if it was that easy to disable a tractor beam everyone would just throw the kitchen sink at it all the time.
I agree its a bit silly how easily he got out of that and especially how bad guys always miss their shots but at the end of the day this is Star Wars even if Andor is usually a bit more grounded than other things in the franchise there is still gonna be some heightened action. And I think it can sort of be justified, the Imperials here where caught by suprise and I imagine that the tech Luthen is using here for his targeting computer AI and his laser thing and anti Tractor beam weapon is super advanced and maybe rare, (But yeah the biggest mightiest army of the imperials should maybe be aware of some of it) like maybe the anti tractor beam weapon is a super expensive and hard to get for most. And just because there is a counter to something does not mean everyone would use it. It depends on what the enemy is expecting. Like an irl example would be a cop coming at a criminal with a taser gun. There is armor one could hide under your clothes to protect against a stun gun and you could also fire back at the police with a real gun and win like that. That doesnt mean stun guns become obsolete, because in many situations they are still useful if you expect a certain level of resistance from your opponent. In this Andor scene they did not expect at all that this civillian ship would have such advanced weapons and that they would be willing to escalate the situation so dramatically.
“I share my dreams with ghosts…”
Thats honestly one of the most saddest yet well written lines i’ve heard
"i burn my decency for other peoples' futures..." hit me hard too.

@@DreadremingI’ve been wondering on this as well. But creatively I hope he isn’t. It would ruin his backstory as the main catalyst of the rebellion.
Simply one of the greatest actors of our time.
never thought I'd see a better SW series than Mando but man was Andor just perfect, and insanely deep. Thanks, in part, to performances like this.
He’s really something. Here with the delivery of a speech like that and then in dune evoking such a polar opposite vile abject revulsion.
Love how Luthen has a spy ship that’s basically James Bond’s Aston Martin in space
Way cooler imo since it looks like a regular hauler and not some a rare luxury sportscar
I wish his speech to Lonnie wasn't cut short and it showed his 'stay with me Lonnie'
i need all the heroes i can get

Luthen Rael should have his own series
That speech 🔥🙇

A 'haul craft' like that seriously damaging his cruiser would've boggled his mind lol
Was just thinking the same. Im guessing his amygdala was bombarding his mind with scenarios of how much trouble he will be in first and foremost lol.
he's probably petrified that the next thing he's going to hear is "incoming transmission from lord vader."
He was suspicious from the beginning- Luthen just had the element of surprise
Best scenes with Luthen: All of them!
A true....testimt for what we are all going through 😊❤

Dude rude much?
She must leave.
Leave she must!
And don’t even get me started on Obi Wan 🙄
All I’m saying is….that chase 😐
Can't wait for season II. Hope they didn't eff it up like the other disney releases.
Real Art.❤
All of them
7:55 "...promotion time??"

Luthen sounds like Lincoln.
I bet he was in love or related to a Jedi
"We took a vow."
Still trying to figure out what exactly Luthen means by that.
Luther is an Oblationist.

They better not, here's a better idea release it on physical media and IT will sell!
Ignore this and fail...again!
wtf are these effects
the video uploader fubared the footage
H3 looks like John Wayne
