What time frame are you using?
Yup I said in the video you need a special broker like IC markets with a raw spread and only $3.50 commission per $100,000 traded. If you can't access a broker like that you need a higher timeframe.

@@Z0R0zeenee rules? What rules? I'd like to see examples and decisions based on data BEFORE action takes place. I see all these vids and it's like "just do this because this" and yet it only makes sense because they have data post trade to verify it.
@@Munky332 I get what you are saying, and yes in some situations it can make inaccurate results. However, when you are sure that the setup is 100% objective and the indicators/chart would be showing the same exact value live than with the historical data, it is still an accurate back-test as long as you make sure to include every losing trade just like every winning trade. Go and back-test in replay mode if you are super worried about the future data messing up your results.
I can't see how an objective setup, and I mean 100% objective, would be any different looking at past charts and live trading (assuming any indicators used do not show something different live/after the fact, which in this example EMAs do not have a different value so it's perfectly fine).
In these videos I do get skeptical about some of the tests sometimes, such as the fact that the data is already selected somehow (how?) and it is difficult to go through the entire fast-forwarded portion of the video and verify that every losing trade was recorded, but that is why you need to go and back-test these strategies on your own! Both a regular back-test and in replay mode for a while before taking them live. You also will probably end up changing it a little to fit your style, or like I do, I back-test and then do quantitative data analysis on all the trades to find the optimal TP/SL. If you aren't spending more time and effort back-testing and optimizing your strategy than you are live trading, then something is wrong.

I backtest a similar strategy 20 & 50 EMA retest on the 15m and got around a 68% win rate with a 1 to 1 RR on 101 consecutive trades.
It's easy to make a strategy on a chart. But when candlesticks unfold in front of your eyes it's way different.

Yea i backtested this and it didnt work on most pairs. Conditions are hard to meet and when it does the success is not above 50%
I tested this exact strategy on M5 and M1 charts for majors with more than 35000 candles. It's win rate is less than 40 precent.
If you’re patient and find 1:3 trades you can win 30% of the time and still be profitable
that mean 60 win.... if the strategy shows you a buy signal, u should sell and will have a 60 %win rate .... am i right?

@@eduardoflores7079 I remember there was this one day where I was profitable using a similar strategy. I came home to do some trading after a not very nice day and noticed how consistently I lost. I just started doing the opposite of what I predicted would happen and it worked. Well it did then atleast.
I am new to trading so take my comments with a grain of salt.
First, I don't get why people backtest a trading strategy against the same stock. Shouldn't you use multiple stocks to see how robust the strategy is? Remember,, I am new.
I ran the strategy against most listings in the TSE, NYSE and NASDAQ for 2020 and 2021. I only did one max trade per stock. If AAL had three cross overs in 2020, I only backtested the first crossover.
When I implemented the strategy as described, I had a 45% win ratio. However, I did make money on the trades.
When I lowered the reward:risk ratio from 1.5:1, I creased my winning percentage to 56%, but my net profit went down.
I always compare a trade strategy against a S&P 500 ETF. That is a no brain investment, with the associated risks and rewards.
That being said, thank you for proposing the strategy. I am learning a lot about investing by learning about the data.
I am going to tweak the strategy some more to see if I get better results.

Back tested in 15-min TF for EURUSD (are far back as possible). End result 12-win; 13-losses; Net +107.8 Pips (Of course on a few of those losses, price action was working against you, but the overall theory works in the timeframe.)

One thing with calculating your goa is that you have to consider compounding your wins and losses, every time you win or lose, your account size changes and that 1% loss or 2% win isnt the same. Numbers can change pretty quickly. For example if you win 100% with one trade your 100money account is now worth 200money, and next time you lose 1%, you dont lose 1money but 2money. Just to make things more complicated :D Your goa is calculated by fixed risk from initial account size ;)

How do you think this strategy would work on some active but smaller cap and/or lower priced shares? I have a butt load of newer day traders want a simple scalping strategy and this certainly checks the box for clear signals and the win loss is phenomenal 12 out of 14... I mean wow.
I would imagine this would work well on something like $SPY but not a lot of accounts will allow day trading a security with a $370+ per share price tag.

So many traders lose money because they don't know the expectancy of their strategy, and long term is it difficult to stick to a strategy that you don't believe in when it starts losing even if it has an edge. Look great men. There is something that I don't like and I see everybody on youtube makes this wrong.
When you put 1:1,5 Risk to reward add commissions and spread so at the end you have a real 1 to 1,5.
For example let's say that 1pip is 1$.
Risk 10pips(10$+commission or spread 1$, your risk is 11$) real target for 1:1,5 is 11* 1,5=16,5pips/$
Especially when some strategies don't have big win rates this little thing really can make a huge the difference.

You can fix that by either getting a pro/business account which have fixed fees but no spreads, or moving to 15/30min TF where broker spreads are negliable

Kind of yes.
I do have a raw spread account, but still depends which pair I trade.
Some pairs USD/NZD, GBP/AUD and others have commission and spread, still better than Standart account but, you know when I make the calculations right, turns out that for every pair is different and depending on the current pip Value, it can be really important to choose the right pairs.
EUR/USD have the tiniest spreads and commissions, but if you chose other pair with the same strategy the targets must be adjusted depending on the commissions,spreads, and current pip value from the broker.
For example:
Pair that have more than 2pips value in commissions and spread.
If I open position with SL 10pips
I don't risk only this 10pips, there's still 2pips commission, so my risk is 12pips.
calculate commission in $ divide ➗pip value for 1pip and you can understand how much is your hidden risk.
1:1,5 R is 10pipsSL:18pips target
if you take it at 15pips is like 1:1,25R
and for 1:2(10Sl:24Target)
10SL:20target is 1:1,66R
My point is that strategy can be good and work perfectly,but depending on win rate,bad calculation, broker commission, you can still lose money or grow like a 2% a month or less because of this Little thing. And still the human factor affects how we manage to enter and exit a trade(emotion, mostly fear). I say that from experience, my strategy works everything is fine, and I actually loss money. But because I had a Journal, the difference started to make me recalculate everything, and turned out that with the right calculation, my strategy has very different win rate depending on which pair I trade, and I had to fix it in order to start making money.
Nothing so big at first look, but changes everything.
I will test this strategy on a demo account to see what will be the real win rate on a GBP/USD looks pretty nice.

If go from EUR/USD to GBP/CAD with same strategy, my winning strategy can actually make me loss money.
I have the same commission but from no spread(0 FOR EUR/USD), I go to commission plus spread Wich is more risk. On top of that the pip value for GBP/CAD is lower my account is in Euro so I will tell you how it looks like, but just because the difference in the pip value I have add more pips in risk and extra little spread.
0,1lot for EUR/USD at the moment is 0,83€ commission 0,6€
pip value for 0,1lot is 0,83€
0,1lot for GBP/CAD at the moment is 0,65€ commission 0,7€ + spread
pip value for 0,1lot 0,65€
so 10 pips SL for EUR/USD looks like this:
total Risk-( 10pips * 0,83)+ 0,6 commission=8,9€
in pips 8,9€/ 0,83 pip value=10,72pips(real risk)
target
1:1,5R - 16,08 pips
1:2R - 21,44pips
not a big difference when trade EUR/USD
FOR GBP/CAD looks like this:
Total Commissions
spread from 0,3 to 0,5 medium 0,4pips in € 0,4*0,65pip value=0,26+0,7€ commission= 0,96€
Total Risk
(10pips*0,65pip value)+ 0,96€ total commission=7,46€
Risk in pips 7,46€/0,65=11,47pips(total risk)
1:1,5R - 10pips risk target 17,2pips
1:2 R 10pips risk target 22,94pips
and GBP/USD is still good pair.
But same strategy on a different pair more often don't hit the target and because of that the win rate changes!
if you use low win rate strategy and and don't calculate the things right using small targets thinking more wins more win rate more money, you can loss actually that happened to me. just adding the Commissions in to the risk(Because we risk the commission to, win or loss we have to pay it) changes the thing. A lot of our money goes for commission to not add them as a risk, that was my stupid mistake.
Now when price reach 1:1 I move my stop loss to breakeven but breakeven is not the entry is entry +Commissions so I have no risk .
I guess that now you can see how the win rate for the same strategy is changing depending on the pair, and must be the right strategy for the right pair, if we day trade, if it is a swing trading is another story.

Looks like a good scalping strategy - however the test period is a generally a long uptrend, which may give better than normal results. I will put this in an EA and back test for a couple of years and some different pairs and see what comes out. Good stuff.

Good idea but I do the opposite of you, instead of first touch and pull back (after 50 cross 200) I apply to first cross over without pull back instead. Simply put If the price cross over the 50 ema without pull back (after 50 cross 200) I just follow it and it woks for me (just experiment, not gauranteed)
Hey I like this strategy, it's very objective. I'm gonna go ahead and back test this on a crypto pair on the 5 min time frame but I have one question. Would you only take one trade per EMA cross or would you take multiple trades per EMA cross if, for example, the price goes below the 200 EMA then comes back above the 50 again (long trade) after you have already taken a trade on that particular EMA cross?

I found it, you look at the red RTS number near the bottom left of the screen (depending where you have the rts set up) then multiply by 2
I might be wrong (need to be tested) but it looks to me as if one could place a stop loss at the minimum of the opening candle or the one before or the swing bottom/top making bigger gains. The only loss using this SL strategy might be at 9:11.
I'll test it on different timeframes! I was looking for one for 5mins - 1min are too fast for me. As you said, it's a very promising strategy!
Oh yes I'm sure this can be worked on I threw it together pretty quickly and didn't test much so i'm assuming the 100 tests wont go nearly as well!

@@Kochos was terrific for the first around 30 trades on EURUSD. Up 11.5% on the account. Then I lost my place and started on USDJPY to avoid repeating trades I had already counted. For USDJPY it did not perform well, the long bars and wicky-ness messed it up. At around 60 trades account gain was still 11.5%. I haven't finished yet. I'd like to do 100-200 trades before getting too excited.

I'm sure over 100 trades the result will be much much worse but still a concept to potentially work with. I was only counting the first touch after a cross
I tested BTCUSDT with the multiple pullback entry strategy on 1m timeframe between 15 Feb 21:00 - 18 Feb 7:00 NZ time. Only one entry allowed at the time. SL is placed at the max/min of the closing or the previous candle but omitting entries with large SL. TP 2:1. Results: 100 trades 46 wins 54 losses, max loss 5, max win 4. I think avg win range will be around 45-48%. Just saying: trading BTC with this strategy is not worth it if you need to pay fees.
PS. With the multiple entries on a single cross but on a 5m timeframe it's much worse, it'll be around 40% at the time BTC was ranging between 32k and 48k!
I back tested it and the results were not good, if I go by the ATR then probably no wins, keeping SL above the red candle high or green candle low and then aiming for 1.5 RR, I got 3 wins & 4 losses.
Will forward test it more, hopefully will get some better results.
Trading isn't easy so please don't give up wherever you are. Trading takes time(months, even years) to master, even the pros learn everyday. Never the less, if you lose money no matter which side you take, maybe you need to look at how you are managing active trades rather than how you are entering them. My advice, find a mentor . you'll thank me later .
You're correct, I don't lose money every single trade, but my main problem is trying to let my runners run. Very rarely do I catch big moves . Instead they go a few pips in my direction, then go against me if when I try holding them. Also my entries could use a lot of improvement. A mentor would be amazing, but getting one is easier said than done. If it's not too much to ask, do you know any legit ones?
@@VIPZig I know of one man though, he is not a mentor per-se, but he is freakishly good at trading. From what I've gathered he used to work for a proprietary firm till he retired. I've been struggling to find good entries and exits for Forex trades at the 1m timeframe (they are there just take a long time to setup and you can miss them unless you're watching them like a hawk). 5m, 15m, and 1hr timeframes are a lot easier to find entries.
When I'm out of my current positions, I'll give this a live try. I'll do some back testing, while waiting.

Really interesting, great video. I suspect their maybe need an exception rule based on very small ATR's otherwise the spread may make the trades unprofitable/impossible.

What were the reasons for losing in your case? Reversals, ranging market or too small SL?
Should use partial TP's and BE. That wil reduce losses dratically.

I have tested this and it works really well, but i would add a small change, you go in even if there is no crossing of ema's , only wait for the first bounce because by the time the EMA's cross the trade is gone while doing it live

@@andereastjoe Depends on your time frame for trading. On M1 I use 50,250,750 & 3000 (So M1,M5, M15 & H1 50EMA's) works really well. I use the same method on my H1 charts and H4 charts but different values of course.

I wouldn't recommend actually trading this as it's not proven profitable in the long run. Test at least a few hundred times and optimize before risking capital!

u know that spread has a significant impact on the win rate? i c u have not included spread and do brokers do less than 2 pip stop loss? from what i am aware of some have min stop loss which is usually 2-8 pips depending on pair.
If you listened to the video you would hear me say it will only work with a raw spread account and even then it might not work because the strategy hasn't been tested even close to enough to know if it's profitable.
icmarketss allow SL on 0.1 pips....their EURUSD spread is usually 0 pips
