Steve looked uncanny to me and I think that's the issue with models and especially if you meet one in real life they look amazing don't get me wrong but it almost looks off how perfect some look.
It’s interesting because in Mayas and in Steve’s case they became more undoubtedly attractive but they also became the average Instagram model or tiktoker. Especially in Maya's case. When you added the changes to her i couldn’t help but think of the average ig influencer. Like it just wouldn’t leave my mind. she became more like the average Instagram influencer that you don’t at all but is somehow famous. With Steve he became the average male thirst trap influencer. Like a 1980s aged vinnie hacker just older. It took away his uniqueness. It didn’t separate him from the pack it put him right back in it. It begs the question in Steves case do you think he would’ve got the same roles he did and be as famous, successful and easily recognizable as he is today?? Great video as always!

@D Soul oh no, I agree. It's just that they are human, and if someone was breaking down my face and showing all my flaws, I'd view myself differently. Seeing the bad, or what could be done to "fix" my face etc.
Actors and actresses really can't be too beautiful. Look at Angelina Jolie, she is just too beautiful there's not a lot of roles that is logical for her to be in, and her face is too distracting we can't really see her as the character, just her as her.
This reminds me of Megan Fox. She lost her features and gained some sexualized roles in return, and maybe some beauty products and fashion contracts, idk. She lost part of her identity and became an stereotype. She got quite beautiful, but in a generic way. There is an argument about her having a too common face, despite been beautiful before, that wouldn't land her great roles and contracts, but as "a doll" she suffered prejudice and seems lost, like she forgot who she is because she learned to change her looks (mimic) to gain "leverage". She herself is nowhere to be found...
Hmmm, her old face (and body) was what got her noticed and was the one that landed her great role$ & placed her at the top in terms of celeb status. I don't even know wtf she did after Jonah Hex besides the Ninja Turtles where she already looked really odd. She looked older than she was which, I assume, is what she DIDN'T want 🤷🏻♀️ What sexualized roles/movies did she choose to act in after the excessive procedures? I googled her movies just now, were her roles in This is 40, Friends With Kids, etc very risque? Never saw any of them. If anything, I think those overboard procedures proved detrimental to her acting career. That, and angering Michael Bay for a while lol
When I saw her in Transformers, I thought she usurped the spot of most gorgeous woman I've seen from Angelina Jolie. Now, I wouldn't really look twice. She looks overdone in a desperate way.
This is to address the people commenting that they looked better before being photoshopped and, the people commenting that after photoshop they just looked like the "average" beautiful person. I can't remember if I heard it from a Qoves Studio video or, some other beauty article that stated that because we consume so much media in our culture we assume that high level beautiful people are common but, in fact they are extremely rare. Even apps like Tiktok and Tinder are notorious for pushing the most attractive people to the front which also helps trick people into thinking very attractive people are common. However, when you get offline and, out of the movie theaters you can go months, years, or even a lifetime without personally seeing someone on the high end of beauty. Take away their fame and the same celebrities many of us drool over would be ignored in real life; especially men. I see guys on Steve Correll level all the time struggling to get dates. My point is even if any of the celebrities they photoshopped looked like the typical Instagram model put that person in the real world (without fame) and, they would love the photoshopped version of their face because that level of beauty would still be rare and, highly desired!
Yet those looks are only highly desired today because of social media, tv, film, and modeling. Go back 100 years and that Instagram influencer wouldn’t be the one who caught everyone’s eye. They had their own idea of beautiful. Each generation decides what is extremely beautiful and that standard is constantly changing and varies from place to place. At the same time….,Tick Tok is showing the world what the “standard” is “supposed to be” with every video they show though so who knows, with time, as we all become addicted to the same media, perhaps there will come a time where we all agree on what is beautiful. To me, that is a terrifying thought.
@@free22 I agree with the spirit of this comment however, ultimately I still disagree with this comment. Because universal beauty standards don't change. Take a woman who is universally considered "high end" beautiful today and, I guarantee you that she would still be considered beautiful 100 years ago and, beautiful 100 in the future. Again remember the point of my original comment: highly beautiful people are rare in the real world it is just that we consume so much media that we believe highly beautiful people are common.
@@333angeleyes I guarantee you that is not all true. Take pictures of women who won beauty pageants in the year 1900 and then compare them to a 2023 beauty pageant winner. Take a picture of a beautiful Korean woman considered beautiful in 1900 and compare that to the ideal South Korean woman today. Night and day. I remember talking to someone who showed me pictures of her sisters from the 1930s in a small Latin American village. I pointed to a woman who would win a Miss Venezuela beauty pageant today and she said she was not considered that attractive then. She actually told me her chest was too big and her legs were too long in a straight face. Those are features people in Venezuela and all over the world pay a lot of money for but back then, they weren’t the beauty ideal. She pointed to the sister considered attractive at the time. To be honest, I didn't like those changes at all. All of them were already well above average - not perfect 10s obviously, but attractive people nonetheless. After those changes yes, they did become more attactive - but also totally forgetable, like all those faces from instagram which are undeniably pretty, but they all look exactly the same (and also quite fake). What people tend to forget is that uniqueness also plays huge part in attractiveness - that is why celebrities like Natalie Dormer or Tom Hiddleston are considered to be super hot by so many, even though they don't have perfect facial features...
The "uniqueness" of their faces is avg as well, just because you look unique doesn't make you handsome or ugly. Natali Dormer is avg and Tom Hiddleston is considered handsome because his whole package like tall, fit, successful, well-spoken, and great personality, while for women is based on looks in specific rather than the whole package. That's why female models make more than male models.

going through the comments I realize something, ugliness/imperfection gives character. As an artist this makes perfect sense! It's the imperfection that gives art and people a "vibe" and individuality that is lost when we alter the face to be perfect. as a person who strives for perfection, how interesting 💁♀💁♀
It’s interesting how these little tweaks aggregate into their faces not looking like them at all. I can see how it might make them fit the beauty ideal more but it feels wrong in a way bc it takes away the uniqueness that makes them so likeable.
I have a feeling that one is going to make me feel the worst... It's going to point at all the ways that I have a man face... Which I've known but I don't want to know know you know
think for the next installment of this series you can change the face according to a different standard, ie "making striking celeb faces kinder," "changing asian celeb faces to WBS,"
The problem with this is that it focuses on making actors more 'model-like' according to beauty standards/benchmarks. But the thing is, these actors are celebrated for their talent, the roles they play and their public personas. So changing their faces would actually detract from what people find attractive about them. Their personalities and professional ability actually count for something - unlike what models are celebrated for - which is their looks.
There is partly truth in it. You also have to remember they are partly chosen for their looks. If brad pitt plays a nerd and Danny Devitto the popular guy who gets all the girls it would be weird. Even if they acted their role perfectly.
really cool the comparisons. it shows the importance of each characteristic unlike just saying and showing the example of someone that has it without the comparison
Love this channel for its honesty. Nothing in this world is perfect and looking at those imperfections shouldn't be hated. Its just the truth. Its easier to navigate through life when you understand how things work.
I feel like Ryan gosling and Reynolds would be cool to see since i feel like their face and jaw shape does not fit the western beauty standard but are still considered attractive. Also someone like Steve Buscemi and Amy Schumer since They are both considered unattractive.
He has an obsession with chiselled hexagon-looking jawlines. Asian girls with curved or v-shaped jawlines are 10x more attractive. Also changing the eyes didn't really do anything. The only change that made her more attractive was removing the smile lines but that's just aging
He was going by western beauty standards, which means more striking of a look which is something most asians don't have. Most asians have really soft faces, so by making her appeal more to western beauty standards she in turn "looks less asian".
Hi qoves. Could you analyze James Franco? He was considered one of the most attractive man in the world during his prime, despite having a negative canthal tilt. Also, Hayden Christensen (Anakin's actor) has been considered top in terms of attraction. Jensen Ackles too.
James Franco most attractive, considered by who? By fucktards obese bitches maybe... he s fuckin awful... Hayden was gorgeous, yes... the last one nothing special.. search for Gabriel Garko or Alessandro Dellisola if you wanna understand what attractive men are for Sane people... James Franco.. lot of people are just fooled by the halo of fame... James Franco could easily work at walmart or be a plumber
Whoaa.. i'm thinking of hiring you to photoshop my face to give to my surgeon. Good job! Also, can you do Michael b. Jordan next? I wonder how would he look like with a stronger chin.
The literature on beauty standards speaks of distributions, if you reduce these findings to point estimates and then extrapolate those points estimates to actual people's face, of course you're going to get conventionally attractive faces. This doesn't mean the literature is claiming these are objectively more attractive. This is reducing a distribution of preferences to a single number.
I wouldn’t say Constance Wu is average-looking by either Eastern or Western standards. She has a beautiful face to begin with. Plus, the pic of her with blue eyes is freaky. Also, one thing that’s not mentioned is the double standard of beauty between men and women. While it’s acceptable for men to have a few wrinkles and gray hair, society tends to dictate that women have to remain youthful as possible.
Qoves you did Alain Delon and Monica Bellucci two one of the most beautiful famous people, can you do more like famous old stars and new ones like Margot Robbie? She is literally too beautiful she is the new barbie in a movie and almost flawless considered the "most beautiful woman" now can you explain why please?
This was so interesting! I loved the in depth step by step and explainations. What would really interest my are body proportions and how they play into attractiveness. Say shoulder and hip width, torso and leg length etc. Stuff like that! Great video as always, i imagine lots of work goes into these!
ino this is kinda a sensitive topic cause it ties in with peoples perceived value of self worth over things they cant change, but i find these videos very interesting to watch. Even just from a "learning" point of view its interesting to see how these different features interact with our perception of peoples faces. And how often its not as simple as following a very precise formulae to get the best results, but rather considering a wide range of factors.
i love how respectful u are also i agree theres nothing wrong with how these pple look, and steve is looking better with age wich happens to some pple!!
I'm binging all of your videos again, love the scientific approach to beauty so much! I would love to see a face analysis of blackpink's kim jisoo! Her face is one of the most uniquely attractive I've ever seen
We need to stop pretending that old men look better than old women. Seriously, the guy at 3:17 did not look better than the woman right after. They are both very attractive yet middle aged, which takes away some of the attractiveness in both sexes. It's time to become fair and honest in the 21. century.
I agree with your point that aging reduces attractiveness in both sexes though. Men do NOT look better at 42 than 22 usually. But a 42 year old man usually > a 42 year old woman. It’s better to accept than fight against it and suffer

@@evelynzucker907 that's cause you're a presumably heterosexual woman and can't really judge female beauty fairly, just as the guy you're replying to can't judge male beauty.
@@evelynzucker907 What? Men are interested in: youth, innocence and beauty - a woman is guaranteed to lose some or all of this by the age of 30. But women are interested in: masculinity, life experience and financial stability - this is what a man receives only at the age of 30-35. This is how attractiveness works biologically. So here ideal ages: Woman - 18 years old. Male - 30 years old

Striking face; - really high cheekbones like those of Sean O'pry or higher- instead of round apple cheeks you have little shiny ball right under your eye or two "blades" at the height of your eye corners -great horizontal projection of all three parts of face- lower third, midface and forehead which give sculpted "3D" like front and great side view. - long palpebral fissure lenght combined with small p.f height and positive canthal tilt - overall angularity- mandible, forehead and overall skull have squarish contour.
This video is not made to offend anyone it's just experiment on how model looks are on someone's face and how it it is in that case.Nobody called any celebrity ugly. And let's be honest, attractive is attractive and most people are just average and you are more likely to meet someone below average than pretty or gorgeous.I just can't believe how many fat, greasy haired, thin liped, crooked teeth and small eyed people I can see on daily basis...And many of them can be rude also and it's worse.Honestly.
Wait... can you say more about the "idealized standard" which don't apply to real people thing. I didn't know that idealized standard =/= theoretically most attractive? 3:41
I think it’s interesting to see the theory behind the process that we see with celebrity photos. Hair makeup and a quick touch up using a bit of software and we believe everyone looks a certain way. The weird bit are people actually getting surgically altered to look like a retouched or filtered picture

going through the comments I realize something, ugliness/imperfection gives character. As an artist this makes perfect sense! It's the imperfection that gives art and people a "vibe" and individuality that is lost when we alter the face to be perfect. as a person who strives for perfection, how interesting 💁♀💁♀
I'm curious to see what you did to Jennifer Lawrence that is shown in the thumbnail.
It’s interesting how these little tweaks aggregate into their faces not looking like them at all. I can see how it might make them fit the beauty ideal more but it feels wrong in a way bc it takes away the uniqueness that makes them so likeable.
Can you dive into the topic of androgynous attractiveness? I think it would make a great video!
Since you teased us with a thumbnail of Jennifer Lawrence...let's include her in the next one. 😄
she isn't average though...at least not on camera
Make more videos answering and reviewing Reddit’s advice on glowing up
Crazy how a couple of changes makes all the difference!
Regardless if they fit the western beauty standard they are above average in looks
@@adamg6711Light years above
I'd like this guy to analyze Bill Skarsgard. You cannot deny that dude is attractive, yet one of the most polarizing
What? Gosling and Reynolds are certainly not top models, but they are conventionally handsome men by Western standards
Can you do also older models, actors and more singers in general Qoves? That would be great 👍
He’s so painfully honest 😫
No one’s perfect 🤷♀️ not even the guy who made this video
i can't believe you haven't done a brooke shields face analysis pls do it 😭😭😭😭
Man just made her less asian 💀
He was always just a clown.
@@lukebruce5234 franco?
Qoves can you do a video about how moles affect facial attractiveness?
I think it’s very interesting. They look good on some people and not on others.
Yes, please. Turn this into a series.
Am surprised how careful you are with these makeovers. I appreciate how you always point out the models attractive facial features.
Damn, make Steve Buscemi, would be best video ever 😂😂😂(really love him as an actor)
I would love to see a collaboration with a plastic surgeon and/or recommendations for surgeons
Whoaa.. i'm thinking of hiring you to photoshop my face to give to my surgeon. Good job! Also, can you do Michael b. Jordan next? I wonder how would he look like with a stronger chin.
People come to a channel that analyses beauty standards and they get upset when they hear an uncomfortable truth they aren't ready to hear.
Tell me the truth am I ugly
If Steve Carell is "average" then I must be ugly as hell.
Probably
Most likely case scenario, yes.
He's average he's still attractive to me tho unlike Ms. Lawrence his photoshoppd version also looks like my dad with grey hair
Hey u should do Keith Powers for a celeb face breakdown , he was a model turned actor, it’d be a interesting analysis
He has done videos on Alain Delon and Monica Bellucci
@@thirstaefortae5057 That's what I said lol
Steve Carell looks like a box with the changes. Like a Ken doll. Definitely not more attractive. Seems like many people agree.
Steve Corel transformed into Liev Schreiber.
I hope I can age like Steve Carell. He just gets so much better with age.
I'm binging all of your videos again, love the scientific approach to beauty so much! I would love to see a face analysis of blackpink's kim jisoo! Her face is one of the most uniquely attractive I've ever seen
Yes it is very nice to hear that I am scientifically ugly I wasn't just subjectively bullied...
This would be a fun series to watch. Good job guys 😊
@@southpoor5716 I see a lot of the opposite. It's a sexist culture that supports you though. Regardless of what is fact.
Haha the tipically woman who cries over everything calling the society sexist and this and that. victimizing themselves for everything, living under the philosophy of "everyone is stupid except me"
😂😂😂 Stop it's not that big of a deal
@@evelynzucker907 that's cause you're a presumably heterosexual woman and can't really judge female beauty fairly, just as the guy you're replying to can't judge male beauty.
@@evelynzucker907 What? Men are interested in: youth, innocence and beauty - a woman is guaranteed to lose some or all of this by the age of 30.
But women are interested in: masculinity, life experience and financial stability - this is what a man receives only at the age of 30-35. This is how attractiveness works biologically.
So here ideal ages:
Woman - 18 years old.
Male - 30 years old
The actor Rebecca Ferguson, would be a great candidate for facial analysis.
I feel like I'm getting more attractive when I watch your videos lol
Can u make a video analyzing Dasha Taran beauty ?
I really trust this channel so much and i can't wait to see a video talking about Dasha Taran here 💚💚💚💚💚💚⭐
Qoves can you do Keanu Reeves? He is so attractive and seems like he doesn't age.
It would be lovely if you make it a series
If you're calling Candace Wu average you've already lost me
This was neat. How did you choose which celebrities to do?
More Jennifer Lawrence, please. We have some similarities. It would help.
U should try tgis but with actionable changes, like hair, makeup, weight changes and different variations so ppl can apply it to themselves
Striking face;
- really high cheekbones like those of Sean O'pry or higher- instead of round apple cheeks you have little shiny ball right under your eye or two "blades" at the height of your eye corners
-great horizontal projection of all three parts of face- lower third, midface and forehead which give sculpted "3D" like front and great side view.
- long palpebral fissure lenght combined with small p.f height and positive canthal tilt
- overall angularity- mandible, forehead and overall skull have squarish contour.
Basically just have hunter eyes theory
what about strange beauty like Grace Jones, Tilda Swinton, Daniel Kaluuya, Rami Malek, Adrien Brody, Lee Su-hyeok, Tsunaina, ....
Photoshoped Steve Carrel looks like handsome Squidward 😂
This video is not made to offend anyone it's just experiment on how model looks are on someone's face and how it it is in that case.Nobody called any celebrity ugly. And let's be honest, attractive is attractive and most people are just average and you are more likely to meet someone below average than pretty or gorgeous.I just can't believe how many fat, greasy haired, thin liped, crooked teeth and small eyed people I can see on daily basis...And many of them can be rude also and it's worse.Honestly.
True!! Am I ugly?
Wait... can you say more about the "idealized standard" which don't apply to real people thing. I didn't know that idealized standard =/= theoretically most attractive? 3:41
This is amazing :) Would love to see a face analysis on sharon tate!
If you did this for me I already know it would shatter my self esteem because I know how much prettier I could be with a few tweeks 😭😭😭
you aint that important bruh chill
He turned Steve Carell into Zack Snyder.
Lmao
You guys worked hard on this, and the results are very informative and intriguing. Great job!
cool concept. But how about doing changes that are medically possible?
All of these are possible…you didn’t know that😂
Loving all the content! Would love to see a video dissecting what makes the Culkin brothers faces look so distinctive.
Constance Wu became Brenda Song lol
And Steve Carell became Zack Snyder 🤣
I think it’s interesting to see the theory behind the process that we see with celebrity photos. Hair makeup and a quick touch up using a bit of software and we believe everyone looks a certain way. The weird bit are people actually getting surgically altered to look like a retouched or filtered picture
Way to make teens more crazy and obsessed with beauty "standards".
Very interested to see the face behind the voice in this channel :) Something makes me believe that this will never happen.
I don’t remember in which video but he has shown his own modeling photos before, and his Instagram page.
Idk why but I imagine him looking like Griffith from Berserk
Could you make a video on dimples?
Qoves can you do dimples and body shapes?
Everyone looked more attractive on the right, but sometimes being attractive can be a slight disadvantage for people to approach you
I’ll take the slight disadvantage, thanks.
So basically, if you "upgrade" certain facial features to the "ideal" the person becomes unmemorable and they lose their uniqueness.
Steve Carrell's photoshopped picture looks like Carlos Ponce.
Doesn't averageness cover for proportion? Why are they often separated?
My body dysmorphic disorder Is screaming 😭
I liked this! I think it was just fascinating! I hope you continue this series
Hands off Steve Carell! We love him the way he is
I don't like what you did with Maya Hawke. She is already above average with a youthful freshness
