I grew up in hardcore. It was my entire life. I will always feel like a hardcore kid. Seeing this band and this community that I love so much get this level of attention brings me so joy.
You'd probably really like Poppy's new album Negative Spaces. Real diverse sounds on that album and a good mix of lovely melodic singing and screaming.
His first reaction after the Suffocate single release was: “y’all thought this would be a soft song with that Poppy feature, I’ve been laughing hard the past few weeks” or something He’s a legend 😂
Poppy actually approached them about the collab and they made this extra song after already having the album written. I'd recommend Don't Reach For Me, which is another single from this album. Interesting you brought up Billie because she was watching these guys sidestage at Coachella 2023. Getting to play there was a breakthrough opportunity for them. Now they have this concert and are nominated for a Grammy too.
I work with Bryan's dad and can tell you these are some of the smartest, nicest guys you could ever want to meet. The whole laugh tracks album is amazing. Favorite song is Forget your name from the different shade of blue album.
Bryan is the vocalist for Knocked Loose. His vocals are real harsh, not 100% for me, but very impressive and extremely powerful. That said, "Blinding Faith" is one of my favorite songs by them, and tons of people loved their latest album.
I used to not really enjoy Bryan's vocals but I have grown to appreciate more and more different genres of metal over the years and when deep in the willow and everything is quiet now dropped I was hooked ever since
Honestly when I first heard them I thought the same thing but then I watched a nik nocturnal video explaining that it’s called “pissed core”. And it made sense. If I was extremely angry about something I would probably sound just like Brayan lol
imo bryan's vocals are very raw, which is really cool to hear (coming from a very long time metal listener). Raw vocals like his drive the music so much more. They make the vibe so... dirty? i love bryan's vox
Honestly idk why so many people were trippin. Even metal fans were like “there are more deserving bands that should have taken that spot” like dawg this is the only band who is making music this heavy and will probably pay homage to the bands you listen to who can play on this level. Metal fans worse enemies are themselves, y’all just need to appreciate that a band this heavy can get this popular in the first place. And like you said in this video people are gonna watch this and find out they like this type of music, people can’t appreciate nothin these days 😭

If you're interested in more Knocked Loose I would recommend reacting to the video for their EP "A Tear In the Fabric of Life." It's about 20 mins and the official video is a continuous story with incredible visuals. It is a very intense experience but an amazing work of art.
The song origianally features Poppy and this song is nominated for Grammy. You should watch the music video along with studio version as they're great too!
I can't remember all the bands and artists who sang in the show. But I do remember at least another mosh pit in the show. Maybe two, prior to Knocked Loose & Poppy. Great review!
My suggestion for reacting to Knocked Loose after counting worms (or in the same video because counting worms is so short haha) is their UA-cam video for a release from 2021 titled ‘Knocked Loose “A Tear in the Fabric of Life” (Animated Film & Full EP) The video took over a year to make and it’s stop motion, with a concept album following a very dark topic, and if you read into it as well as have the lyrics beside you while watching the video itself, you will fall in love with them, regardless of how heavy it is (and it is HEAVYYY both musically and meaning-wise). It is also only 21 minutes long for the entire project so it is perfect reaction length!
knocked loose is a great band, they have a 30 minute EP called ‘A Tear In The Fabric of Life’ and the music video is a stop motion film, it’s so amazing
As a heads up, if you’d like to watch the music video for counting worms, they released it as a double song music video with another song ‘Billy No Mates’. Counting Worms starts at 2:13 of that music video if you just wanted to react to that. Also, those songs ARE from their first album, which was released back in 2016, so they aren’t as polished as what they do now. They’re fun, but yeah haha a bit more raw and pushing more to the hardcore aspect of their sound
I also discovered Knocked Loose this year (via Nik Nocturnal) and fell hard for them. That entire album is so freaking good. It's very short, but that just lends to no songs feeling too long or like they don't really fit in. It's been my gym playlist for almost two months now. My favorites from it are actually two tracks, 05. Moss Covers All into 06. Take Me Home. They build such an amazingly earie tension and has some fantastic lyrics too!! Glad you enjoyed this performance and hope you fall for them like the rest of us did!!
I can't usually take constant screaming, but I enjoyed this album. The guardian gave it 5/5* and said it was amazing, so I thought I'd best give it a go. Cos it's my genre. Wasn't disappointed.
Sister you’re gonna get HOOKED on this band. I discovered them earlier this year just before Sick New World and my bestie and I saw them live at House of Blues. Bryan is a fantastic vocalist and the band is beyond consistent with their live performances ✨
It was a big moment for modern metal, we haven't had representation for years in the mainstream. I'm loving the vitriolic response from the people who have never hear of Knocked Loose, or listen to metal 🤣 This is too great for me.
Love your reactions. Knocked Loose is easily my favorite modern hardcore band. Very authentic, authentically pissed, no perfectionism in writing/production/performance. Raw. Genuinely nice, humble guys. Look into Tear From The Fabric of Life, especially the video/film that goes with the entire ep. The next thing they released is a two song video, Which I think is the best stuff they've ever put up.
I love Knocked Loose. They are putting out bangers and getting hardcore/metalcore to the masses. Hopefully, this creates a ripple effect with other metal bands in the future. I would definitely recommend their songs, "Counting Worms" and "Billy No Mates."🤘🔥
It took me several songs to digest Bryan’s vocals. I saw them live with BMTH and something about that live show really warmed me up to it. Their “Upon Loss” singles and then their newest album have been in CONSTANT rotation. I just love that a band has heavy and unique as them has played Coachella (iconic performance btw) and played live national television.
@ definitely not for everyone. My fiancé loves heavy stuff and appreciates KL but has had a really hard time warming up to his vocals. She really loved them on Slaughterhouse with Motionless in White. Definitely unique.
The crowd was totally into it. I became a fan of Knocked Loose after Deep in the Willows. I wasn't a big fan of Bryan's vocals at first but it's grown on me. The fact that someone is demanding an apology.... Please. I'm bombarded by music I despise everywhere all the time. Deal or turn it off. That's what a remote control is for. I loved it.
Not going to lie, it took me a few listens to get used to Brian's vocals but I'm definitely a fan after listening to "You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To". When I heard Knocked Loose was going to be on Jimmy Kimmel I thought someone was pulling a prank but I was not disappointed. I'd recommend a standalone single "Deep in the Willow", because it's got one of the best self-band name callouts I've ever heard.
Their new album is awesome, but I love Denied by Fate from their A Different Shade of Blue album. Also Bryan featured on a Motionless in White song Slaughterhouse which is great too.
Please listen to don’t reach for me it’s my favorite ever of theres. When I saw them live someone got hurt and they didn’t get to finish it sadly but that just means I have an EXSCUSE to see them again . Enjoy!!
Hi again, I have been trying and will continue to try to vibe with this band. I also find his vocals very wail-y and grating so i think its taking me a bit of time. Absolutely love the dynamic of his pig squeal with Poppy's own banshee wails though. A very cool tv moment...and the satanic panic is just the icing on the cake tbh. Makes me feel young again.
Their 2021 EP, "A Tear In The Fabric of Life" is their best work and has a full animated film to go with it. The whole EP tells a story that goes with the video. That is what got me hooked on this band and I would suggest you do the same
Knocked Loose recommendations: • A Tear in the Fabric of Life EP in full and with the short film on UA-cam!! They had an artist animate it all with stop motion and the music, the story that the ep tells, plus the visuals? It’s their best release ever in my opinion. It’s a journey for sure, in all the best ways. Some samples they originally had included as intros/outros for songs got claimed on Spotify so for the original intended experience I’d watch it on UA-cam. It’s an emotional release to the band I’ve heard, as they’ve lost people in their life to a car crash- the music has a a heavy emotional feeling… it’s deep. But it’s incredible and worth it, regardless of a potential emotional response (depending on your life experiences). • “Mistakes Like Fractures” a simply great song 😂 • “Blinding Faith”- their first single from the newest album they released * “Deep in the Willow// Everything is Quiet Now”- two singles that tell their own collective narrative, but listening separately can still work. Once again, the music videos are extraordinarily good. All in all I hope you can get into this band despite the vocalist. It took me a while to get into them because of the vocals, but once I was in…. I’m never going back. Also! They’re a hoot to see live! It was so fun in the crowd- despite getting a bloody nose after the first song 😂😂
Hi Ashlena! I know you were planning to do an Arch Enemy day for my birthday and I think that's awesome. You're so thoughtful! Anyway, a great way to kick it off would be the song Deceiver, Deceiver! You can thank me later.

I was like “damn Bryan sounds pretty close to studio” and then Poppy came out and I was like “oof that’s a biiiit off”. Her banshee scream was dope tho. Either way, love everyone involved and it’s so massive for the core community. Awesome stuff and a really fun reaction.
I would definitely recommend when you do the counting worms reaction, you should do the long version of billy no mates//counting worms. Its so much better when listened together as one song imo
There are a few bands that do the higher vocals, and I honestly feel like it comes of more genuinely angry sounding. Most Precious Blood, The Warriors, Walls of Jericho and others have nailed this vocal style to perfection.
He's definitely a grow on you vocalist but once he does you'll love him. Their guitarists also have distinct screams they sprinkle into their songs but it is all screams. For more songs, you can't really miss with the latest album this is from, the EP "a tear in the fabric of life" and the "upon loss" singles. The arf arf song is "counting worms". And true to being a hardcore band with song lengths, you can probably listen to all of that within an hour lol love your reaction and thoughts!
Hi Ashlena, it's been a while. I tend to come around when you react to heavier bands. This Knocked Loose performance was wild, as always they went hard. I'm not surprised people were shocked by it haha. Fun reaction video!
It was like Motörhead performing ACE OF SPADES in a day-time infotainment show on german tv back in...85, if I remember correctly. It was a bomb heard throughout the country. I had much fun, my Dad was horrified...
Next we need to have WhiteChapel or Lorna perform to complete the heavy genre! Bryan is so so for me as far as vocalist but the fact they are Grammy nominated means they are doing something right.
I thought this performance was awesome and for the people complaining about this is just silly this song got nominated for a Grammy so that’s why they are here Brian’s vocals are not for everyone but I really like them because he has a tone that stands out great reaction keep up the awesome work and I hope you enjoy your knocked loose journey
Brians vocals are def not for everyone and you have to get into them. It took me some listens and seeing them live in a tiny club in 23 to now love and appreciate them as they are just different. Not to mention the outstanding songwriting and technical abilities of the band.
You would definitely enjoy Poppy's - I disagree album. It's her first album with metal in it, combines a lot of elements from balads, rock, electronic, to metal. Just a great album overall.
If you do another Knoocked Loose song SlaughterHouse 2! Has Chris from motionless in white. Hella dope song. Alot of people complain about the singer but I like it alot reminds me of Devil Wears Prada. And extremely different which is awesome these days.

suffocate! dumps dududumps dududumps! love it
I didn't know them prior to Jimmy but that was badass! I'm liking the song more every time someone bitches about it 😂 🤘🏾
Same 🤣🤣🤣
counting worms is a banger, and the cd is pretty good to
Manipulator II is forever the nastiest Knocked Loose song
Oh, Ashlena! You should've included a warning with this one. It had me in tears.😅
🤣🤣🤣🤣 sorry!!!
I would definitely recommend when you do the counting worms reaction, you should do the long version of billy no mates//counting worms. Its so much better when listened together as one song imo
Counting Worms!
There are a few bands that do the higher vocals, and I honestly feel like it comes of more genuinely angry sounding. Most Precious Blood, The Warriors, Walls of Jericho and others have nailed this vocal style to perfection.
@@bryanmillsBMfM check out Connie from seeyouspacecowboy too
He's definitely a grow on you vocalist but once he does you'll love him.
Appreciate that!
Hi Ashlena, it's been a while. I tend to come around when you react to heavier bands. This Knocked Loose performance was wild, as always they went hard. I'm not surprised people were shocked by it haha. Fun reaction video!
Hey hey! It was wild but people need to chill.
I love that you love it haha
Also +1 on that Alexisonfire poster too
Ty!! Love AOF
I like Bryan’s retort was on this. You should be scared!
It was like Motörhead performing ACE OF SPADES in a day-time infotainment show on german tv back in...85, if I remember correctly. It was a bomb heard throughout the country. I had much fun, my Dad was horrified...
Hahahahaha I love it ‘85 is a great year 😏
you should check out a different shade of blue and a tear in the fabric of life. fav stuff from knocked loose
Great reaction. Check out Spiritbox ft Poppy - Softspine (Live at Louder than life 2024)
Next we need to have WhiteChapel or Lorna perform to complete the heavy genre! Bryan is so so for me as far as vocalist but the fact they are Grammy nominated means they are doing something right.
I can't believe people are mad at them while Jimmy has had metallica, megadeath, slayer, lamb of god and so many other heavier bands
You saying fuck off to that comment and that it's their fault got a subscribe from me. Love that attitude lol
Hahahaha thanks I’m too blunt
"its your fault for not introducing your adolescent to good music" THAT PART!!
Hahaha right???
I thought this performance was awesome and for the people complaining about this is just silly this song got nominated for a Grammy so that’s why they are here
Brian’s vocals are not for everyone but I really like them because he has a tone that stands out great reaction keep up the awesome work and I hope you enjoy your knocked loose journey
Thanks me too hahaha
🤘🤘🤘
Canada represent!
🤘🏽
Brians vocals are def not for everyone and you have to get into them. It took me some listens and seeing them live in a tiny club in 23 to now love and appreciate them as they are just different. Not to mention the outstanding songwriting and technical abilities of the band.
KLMF!!! Knocked Loose is fkn awesome
Check out Moss Covers All/Take Me Home
When Black Sabbath created Metal to make "horror music", that's what they were talking about...
You should really check out Poppy's new album
Next week
You would definitely enjoy Poppy's - I disagree album. It's her first album with metal in it, combines a lot of elements from balads, rock, electronic, to metal. Just a great album overall.
It took me a little while to get used to Brian's vocals, and I still only like a few of there songs. All music isn't for all people, and that's okay
If you do another Knoocked Loose song SlaughterHouse 2! Has Chris from motionless in white. Hella dope song. Alot of people complain about the singer but I like it alot reminds me of Devil Wears Prada. And extremely different which is awesome these days.
Slayer were on kimmel
Check out their song Slaughterhouse 2
We got a god damned pig squeal on mainstream TV, we got a 'BREEEEEEEE' on the TV 😂
Hahahahahaaha
2:32 Preach, my 3 y/o and 7 y/o headbang to heavy music all the time.
Hahaha love it my 3 year old is loving heavy music right now too
ARF ARF!
🤣
Knocked Loose is popular right now imo theyre ok not great but Poppy is amazing so i recommend a reaction to her newest album
