    • @anthonyvds

      This way is just a bit faster. The best thing to do is indeed draining the oil from underneath the car. But if you just pump all the oil out thoroughly, pumping out is also fine.

    Hey great video. I will certainly do this myself next time. Just one question how do you get the red oil dipstick cover off. I have tried and tried but it seems to be stuck fast. Is it a push fitting or screw cap?

    • @anthonyvds
      @anthonyvds  7 років тому +1

      You have to wiggle it a little bit from side to side, it is just a push fitting indeed. But in my case it isn't very useful since the only way I can check my oil level is via the on-board computer.

    Hi Anthony, brilliant video thank you. I do all my own servicing and enjoy learning. I've serviced my E220cdi 210 model for the last 7 years and when changing the fuel filter it was easy , just top up the holder with diesel and your done. However recently l both a 2009 E220 Cdi 211 model with the fuel filter as you have in your video. When you replace it with a new one how do you prime the filter with diesel ? ? so there is no air locks. Do you just turn the key and wait a minute and let pump fill up the fuel filter ? and then start the engine. l'd be grateful for any help, regards Larry

    • @anthonyvds
      @anthonyvds  7 років тому +2

      Thanks Larry for your comment, really appreciate it. And yes, to fill up the fuel filter you just have to put on the ignition and wait a few seconds, this will fill up the filter and you won't have any air locked inside. Hope this helped you out.
