The gameplay looks solid! The models, the hit effects, the backgrounds during ultimates, and some of these animations just... Damn, they need to put this back in the Air Fryer for another 15 minutes.
Graphics aside, this looks very mvc3 which makes sense since it's the same dev team. It looks really fun so I hope they can make a UMVC 3 of this game with better graphics down the line.
Seeing how low the budget was it’s understandable why some animations and the overall way it looks is an issue designing a game with no specific engine in mind from the ground up you have the gameplay model but visual direction Arc system works with dbfz most of the budget goes into animation and cinematics like level 3 and if you don’t have enough to spread around to begin with well.. you do what you can I’m definitely playing with an open mind!

Considering this is a demo, I’m expecting that it’ll be a little bit more polished before in terms of graphics and sounds (hopefully) but the gameplay is everything i wanted and more so I can forgive it, plus it gives me the same feeling as the Naruto Clash of Ninja games so I can live with it.

It looks like it has potential but obviously it looks pretty funky plus on top of that is dropping with the same amount of characters as cursed clash despite being an anime thats been around for longer than I have if counting the 1999 version so if this drops at 60 or 70 bucks I don’t see many people buying what looks to be half a game for that much I say 40 at max. Like I find it weird to drop a 3v3 game with 16 characters😭so when both players pick their whole team assuming they chose diff characters thats already almost half the roster

I highly doubt it. You can't negate the success of FighterZ all because of a low budget game, even if it's the first in the HxH franchise. Also, many people were hoping this game wasnt an arena for the sole reason of variation, and not filling the anime fighting game up with just arenas. Someone will want to do better as a result of this game flopping (if it does).

Its unfortunate, but I doubt this game will sell well. If the gameplay is good it'll likely find its niche audience of people who love it. But with the lackluster graphics, art direction, animations and overall lack of flash I don't think this will hit with the broader casual audience. Do we know if this game will have like story mode or arcade mode? If its just online matches and vs that's gonna be another nail in the coffin for casuals. And the sad thing is if it doesn't sell well, they may never greenlight another Hunter X Hunter game. We've seen it happen with even popular franchises like MvC and Soulcalibur. Just one underperforming game can tank an established franchise. With all that said, I don't want to sound like I'm hating. Quite the opposite, I want this game to be good and sell well enough that the corporate entities look at it and see some value in making higher budget HXH games in the future. Fingers crossed its better than it looks or improves before release. HXH deserves a good game.

As someone who loved Battle for the Grid (which has a lot of similarities to this game in terms of inputs and being hella MvC3 coded), I can deal with a lower budget lookin' game.
But I do think it's gonna be harder to sell new people on HxH; like FighterZ got new people to warm up to DB. Hell; I could even make the argument that Battle for the Grid got me to care a little bit more about Power Rangers lol

Idk I feel like people expect every game to be like MVC3 or Dragon Ball FighterZ, I'd rather accept an average looking game with good gameplay than AAA looking game with crap gameplay.
Because they raised the standards while I’d agree this just doesn’t seem like a game made for today’s systems. The combos could be better beyond the graphics I think the gameplay looks very lack luster. Again even with a smaller team like skullgirls the standard is set. This just seems lazy
I like how y'all watched the trailer (The more up to date build) then when this comes out everyone is like wtf is this. They clearly are playing on an early build of the game yet everyone trashes it anyway. Honestly don't know why they even bother giving us more anime fighters when this is the response the community decides to do with it when it aint even out yet, let alone a release date.
So low key, i think the gameplay looks pretty decent, its just the visuals and im REALLY hoping thats gonna be improved, hasnt exactly deterred me yet, weirdly small roster though
I think the gameplay is great, but its graphics need major improvement, plus the ults need to look more like ults
I used to play this game on my PS3 all the time growing up
the shading makes everything look muddy. This, on top of having stiff animations and zero music, makes the game look very unfinished. It's a demo, sure, but it still looks way too unfinished to even consider letting the player base see it for the first time. I really hope they hear the popular consensus and improve it.
Isnt this like an alpha or beta? Besides game play is way more important, power rangers power for the grid looks like hot ass but plays beautifully

You guys can’t settle cause we’ll take what we can get. You will but I won’t 🤣 Ain’t asking for FighterZ but something passable at least not cheap. Don’t make a 2024 game look like a 2012 game basically. Now make a Bleach fighting game with a FighterZ budget next 🥴

Its unfortunate, but I doubt this game will sell well. If the gameplay is good it'll likely find its niche audience of people who love it. But with the lackluster graphics, art direction, animations and overall lack of flash I don't think this will hit with the broader casual audience. Do we know if this game will have like story mode or arcade mode? If its just online matches and vs that's gonna be another nail in the coffin for casuals. And the sad thing is if it doesn't sell well, they may never greenlight another Hunter X Hunter game. We've seen it happen with even popular franchises like MvC and Soulcalibur. Just one underperforming game can tank an established franchise. With all that said, I don't want to sound like I'm hating. Quite the opposite, I want this game to be good and sell well enough that the corporate entities look at it and see some value in making higher budget HXH games in the future. Fingers crossed its better than it looks or improves before release. HXH deserves a good game.
