Thank you for this your are right on time for my new life balance decisions. I’m always upside every period and that is mainly because I don’t budget. So the discipline starts now! No more frivolous spending!

I was married 10 years, and had my only daughter at 37. I was her only provider from conception. I worked very hard, and we lived well, and travelled all over the world on my paid vacations.

I did a budget yesterday and it was depressing! Lol! I just picked up a second job that pays pretty good money and I was thinking, finally I can get ahead. After the budget I realized I. Just now even and I still have to live off ramen noodles and the dollar theater for another year just to end up ahead. Sigh. Oh well, even if it's at a snails pace, at least I. Getting ahead now, not behind.

It is very normal to feel depressed after finally putting everything on paper. I was angry, embarrassed, overwhelmed! Stick with it and I promise one day soon it will start to feel empowering and freeing! Glad you’ve shifted your focus and are able to see that you are at least moving forward now. Slow progress is still progress. Please keep me posted! 💖

My aunt taught me to save for 3-6 months rent in advance so I do that

Found this to be good. I'm retired and needed this correction because I have the 1 week of no money blues even though I have all bills paid and food .
My problem is fear based and keeps me in circles. Same cycle each month Christmas is here and nothing saved . My putter- offer in full force. The envelop method I knew about but haven't accomplished yet !
No one can do it for me !
Like the percentage about giving because one daughter says I can't afford to tithe . I can't afford not too !
    Thank you so much !

Hi Shenae! Thanks for watching my video. The rate I get is specific to apartments in the Atlanta area. If you live in this area, check out waltoncommunities.com. They offer discounted rates and low aftercare cost if you qualify. If you want more specific info, you can email me at itssinglemommoney@gmail.com. I'd be happy to help!

New sub, I was a single mom for seem like forever but wouldn’t take back one moment or struggle. My children are adults now with the exception of the last two in college, the oldest finished college and in her chosen field. But I still have financial struggles and set backs, I almost didn’t subscribe because I felt like I should be in a better place financially. But a lot of what you said has much value even for someone in their 40’s. I’m actually starting over after losing my home last year, greatful I was able to get an apartment before my children came home for thanksgiving break last year. It’s been some teary eyed days but I’m still here. I have one big question, I cannot apply those percentages you spoke about in this video at this time due to no extra funds after the basics, what would be a good starting point besides doing the basics such as paying shelter and transportation costs.

Thank you so much for the sub! Happy you decided to subscribe because there is NO shame in wanting to do better financially at any age. My suggestion is to first examine your spending habits. Literally write everything you spend down for at least two week then review it and see if there is any spending or expenses you can cut or reduce. Next review the big three. For most people their 3 top costs will be housing, transportation, and food-any reductions you can make in these three areas will have a big impact. Lastly find ways to increase your income. I pushed hard for a promotion that increase my pay and did some side hustles. Check out my work from home jobs video on here where I talk about my hustles.
I know it can be rough! People talk about it like it’s simple, but it is no easy task. You’ve got this though 💪🏽 Best of luck to you 💖

@@SingleMomMoney I just binged watch all your videos, I learned a lot. I will print the work sheets. I don't have a computer at home so I got to go to library. Just wanted to give you some encouragement, you are a gracefully kind and beautiful. Be well and I hope you are blessed with a career created for you. You remind me of Cathy Hughes owner of TV one, read her story.
