It's a really beautiful paint job there, definitely going to have to rewatch and properly absorb everything. Quite gutted though that the skin tone was contrast painted as the colour is incredible so now I'll have to weigh up changing techniques!
Thank you 😊 If you wanted to avoid the contrast method, you could use the same or similar Two Thin Coats triad, then still glaze in the blue/purple and scarlet colours.
Blimey.. I'm commenting the same day. I think that's mentioned in Revelations.. right after the locusts *lol* I think your method of multiple light sources makes more realistic sense than one only Stuart. Light is never from one direction alone. Granted one light source, e.g. the sun, may be stronger, but light reflects off the ground and every object around - or they would be invisible - so I think your method of light from above but not just one direction is a good idea :) Lovely work!
Very clever move using magnets to allow for round and square bases. Lovely paint job (which shouldn’t surprise anyone) and I’m glad to have picked up a copy plus the issue 500 magazine. I agree that it is a shame that Old World didn’t get a look in…a bit like ignoring the real history of the character to be honest since Fantasy was there much longer than any other game system, but that doesn’t take anything away from the lovely sculpt
It certainly possible, but I’d be very surprised if he becomes one of the two special character profiles alongside Ungrim, I’d expect it to be someone who they’re building into the narrative they’re building for the TOW period.
what size brush do you like using with your contrasts? I generally use W&N but i don't have anything over a size 1. I figure a size 2 would be good but just wanted to see someone else's experience.
Why is no one talking about how the old world was sold out in 2 hours then ever since the range has been “Temporarily Unavailable” it’s like they are actively making it fail 🔥 🔥 🔥
I think a quite of lot of people are talking about it, but to be honest about it most of it is in stock right now. The Bret starter isn’t, but it comes and goes, but the TK and Orc stuff is. I do agree it’s not reliable enough that what you want might always be there, but it’s far better now, and the out of stock items are reflected across the whole of the Warhammer store and all ranges right now, they just can’t keep up. I think a bigger problem is potentially losing momentum from slow releases (they just can’t keep up with all their systems). Dwarfs were announced 11 weeks ago now. I’m planning on a video around 6 months in from launch as a bit of a chat and review on this, so sometime in July.
Wow! Best paint I’ve seen on this one! Really wish WD would get a bit more into Old World content but I picked up this model and issue as well. All this “world that was” nonsense you know.. 🥱 I will definetly be using this as painting referal on my mine!
Recently got back into warhammer all through watching your videos your painting is really good amd very therapeutic to watch
Thank you, I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos and back in the game 🙂
Very nicely painted all over but I'm especially impressed by the gems. Very cool effect.
Thank you 🙂
Looks fantastic !

Nicely done sir, great job.

You’re the reason why I love to paint man

Thank you, and an excellent point about the light 😊

Completely agree, and thank you mate 🙂
Nice I’ve been planning to square base my one too but I’m thinking I might cut the foot of the rock instead for gameplay
I was very close to doing that, potentially as an alternative king on shield.
👍👍
😊
Could it be that rules for using him in TOW will be included in the Dwarven Holds Arcane Journal?

I use mostly a size 2, though often a 1 as well.
