It’s because of this man I sold my 3.5 tc rods, big pit reels and alarms, I now fish from a seatbox with light rods and have never looked back, cheers Des
Good choice buddy , sitting behind a set of rods hoping for a bite started to bore me as well , waggling is pro active and there is nothing better than watching a float slide off and I have had carp up to 26lb on it as well , love it!!!!
I've watched this video three times now before and over the lock down and hear something I missed and learn something every time. IMO nothing can beat fishing with a float, particularly with a rod. That's how 99% of us learned......Des is so good with his comments too.
Proper traditional fishing i have been fishing 40 years i was brought up fishing the waggler it's absolutely fantastic to fish young anglers i see today not a clue how to fish the waggler properly great to see DES and PRESTON covering this fantastic method of fishing been asking for a video on waggler fishing makes a massive change from feeder fishing ALIEN
50 yrs of fishing a float and again learnt something new, that was bait band round the shot. Been using a shot to plumb up for a few yrs now, but thanks to you des I'll be using a band from now on.
That was really nice. Going back to where we all began was so refreshing, made me feel like a kid again. Well, nearly, I started out with a porcupine quill fixed top 'n bottom. All the same, it was great to see good fishing presented in an uncomplicated manor. Thank you.
Des always a pleasure to watch you fish as a Scottish coarse angler it great to see the pros fishing and helps my catch rates here thanks again. ps will be at white acres last week in April i my be lucky and see some of my fav anglers fishing live who knows.
great video des i will be 66 in may and not wet a line for the last 15 years or so but this has got me thinking of digging the old gear out and getting a local club card cant really pole fish these days due to a lower back disc problem waggler pleasure fishing seems just now looking foward to looking at more of your videos many thanks
Another great video Des, I like fishing Meadowlands as it is quite close, there's also Jubilee pools behind, as the warren pool is quite shallow I normally lay on as the wind really does affect both lakes, with surface skim and tow often going different ways, the waggler really does work well here on its day and its nice to see you conquer it so well you really are lucky mr carp didn't join in as its full of them along with those Crucian/brown goldfish type fish, a great tip with the SSSG/ band as now we can't use lead the shot always falls off the hook, I thought you would have mentioned about sinking the line just below the surface as I noticed what looked like some fairy in a spray bottle.
Been waiting for this video about waggler fishing and here I thought it was dead but waggler is my favourite type of fishing Also I'm starting method feeder fishing
One of my favourite ways to fish, along with one of my favourite anglers...you sir are a fishing Jedi master....only the light side though...cheers des
i used the preston micro swivels to attach myhooklength`s a few times but found they snap the hooklength too often , the shot in the pellet bands tip is brilliant by the way
Just a couple of things Des. Did you try fishing overdepth to combat the tow at all, in that video? Were you tempted to fish a black tip at times with that water colour/background?
Des great video. What length rod you using the reason I ask 2 years ago I had a break in and lost all my gear as well as other things, sort of lost my mojo after that and not fished since. Now I looking to get back out there and I used to love waggler fishing.
Des, if the tow is strong do u use a bigger shot nearer the hook (maybe holding on the bottom) to hold the float in the same area and look for more lift bites?
am gonna try this out this winter des nice video like always.hope those waglers are availebel here in belgium.dont mind my spelling bro am duth so.be safe m8 and cu som day at the bank wen am on pension.
Ash The fisherman stops the line tangling when retrieving quickly all day. Also, does the same when using baits like double caster which tend to twist the line on the receive also.
Des, the tow is a big question that someone needs to answer, it's always being asked on forums. If it's not too strong should you leave it to allow the bait to move. If its too strong, what is the answer please, and don't say a feeder? Ha!
Great vid des, but msg to the production team. Please turn off the annoying music . Especially the crazy frog on helium on 24.40. Takes the attention away from des commentary

Yes, what a tip about the big shot plummet. Never to old to learn even after 50 years fishing, brilliant Des thanks.

Love the pellet band in the shot 👌I shall be using that myself thanks Des.
Yeah, I've been squeezing it onto the hook but the band is a great idea, will be doing that in future👍
Really enjoyed this Des and Preston, brilliant method, very underestimated, thanks for sharing great breakdown of tactics and tips 👍👍👍

One of my favourite ways to fish, along with one of my favourite anglers...you sir are a fishing Jedi master....only the light side though...cheers des
I always fish rod and waggler old school and have one carp rod ie flot for the reeds .I done like bullying fish in bite alarms ect ..Great vid 👌
i used the preston micro swivels to attach myhooklength`s a few times but found they snap the hooklength too often , the shot in the pellet bands tip is brilliant by the way

Magic waggler Fishing! 👍💓👏
Great video full of tips and fish👍have you a link to the rod used, can only find feeder or pellet wag. 🤔
please, we need more movie about floats!
Great video. Can you confirm what rod was used please? Is it the Supera 13ft 3-10g? Thanks.
Yes the 13ft 3-10g
Des great video. What length rod you using the reason I ask 2 years ago I had a break in and lost all my gear as well as other things, sort of lost my mojo after that and not fished since. Now I looking to get back out there and I used to love waggler fishing.
Superb 💪💪💪
Just watched this and complety changed my trial rig, the only thing I didn't do was use a 27meter hook length, thanks a lot. 😂🤔
Awesome buddy awesome
Please reply what tackle rod and reel are you using?(I’m a beginner)
Whats the benifit of using stotz etc vs float stops?
Des, if the tow is strong do u use a bigger shot nearer the hook (maybe holding on the bottom) to hold the float in the same area and look for more lift bites?
am gonna try this out this winter des nice video like always.hope those waglers are availebel here in belgium.dont mind my spelling bro am duth so.be safe m8 and cu som day at the bank wen am on pension.
Great video. 2 questions. 1st what floats are you using? 2nd why use a swivel instead of using loop to loop for your hook trace? Cheers
Ash The fisherman stops the line tangling when retrieving quickly all day. Also, does the same when using baits like double caster which tend to twist the line on the receive also.
They are the Preston Dura Wagglers and he uses a small swivel to prevent line twist when reeling in.
Cheers.
Des, the tow is a big question that someone needs to answer, it's always being asked on forums. If it's not too strong should you leave it to allow the bait to move. If its too strong, what is the answer please, and don't say a feeder? Ha!
have you done a cannel pole section?
Mans a genius
Probably a daft question but I'm new to this, why dead maggots compared to live ones.
Great vid des, but msg to the production team. Please turn off the annoying music . Especially the crazy frog on helium on 24.40. Takes the attention away from des commentary
Are these 'plumb shot' still available, cant find them anywhere..thanks
I'm afraid they are no longer available
Scared the fish with that drill 😳
May seem a silly question.... Does tipex come off the blank afterwards?
I use sliding knot. 👍
Why not float stops, i switched to them some time back with a loaded waggler after advice from a top angler who shall remain nameless!!
I thought Bream liked it solid on the bottom!! you are in tow! can you explain, please?
I just pinch a ssg shot on to my hook been doing this for years,ALIEN
Would love to win
i didnt catch what rod des used. can you remind me please?
The model he's used has been superseded by the Supera X range - the ideal choice for this tactic would be the 13ft Supera X
@@UKprestoninnovations yeah andy messaged me thank you. its the rod i will be buying
come watch
Is it your west country accent, Des, or do you call some fish 'hybreds'?
He loves a Hybred🤣
Что за удилище ?
Pardon my ignorance, but why dead maggots? Never fished with them in 30 years. Must be missing something.
What is a pommy?
A silver bream
Why roll the maggots on your leg?
It stuns them so they lay dormant. Sometimes dead maggots pick out quality fish.
@@UKprestoninnovations AHH I see, I've learnt something new today, I'll be using that method at the weekend, thanks for great content and great tips,
Thumbs down what the fuk
