Hello
I'm an Indian Catholic but I didn't like the way his wife behaved to him regarding the way she gave him an ultimatum about the faith of the family. Not nice
He betrayed his family by apostasizing away from Hinduism.
How can we trust him?
I say this as a catholic. My parents were not raised in a religion. So they didn’t apostasize by becoming catholic.
If he came to the conclusion that the Catholic faith is true, then he did the right thing.
You claim to be Catholic and you claim that he betrayed his family by converting to the true religion. Only one of these claims can be true. You also ask how we can trust him. Surely the man who admits when he was wrong and converts to the truth can be trusted. I think back to the many early martyrs who also left behind their familiar superstitions and who suffered and died for their belief; that willingness to suffer and die is very good evidence to trust a person.
@@richardyates7280 He is stuck in a paradox. Apostasy is against the 4th commandment to honor one’s parents.
It is also against honor.
Therefore, the right thing to do in his case should be to do a gradual conversion over 2 generations… first, become agnostic, then his children would have complete freedom to go in whatever direction they want.
OR… get his parents’ permission to convert!
@@BalthasarCarduelis My parents didn’t betray my grandparents by converting. My grandparents were agnostic, and gave permission for my parents to convert.
