Yeah, but Justin would only lose because he would be outnumbered three to one. If it were The Jonas Brothers vs The Darkness it would be another story. Especially if Frankie cheats when he fights as has been mentioned . . . plus, youth and skill are no match for maturity and treachery. As always, MY money's on The Darkness.

@@jackiethetee Yeah, I agree. Justin and Dan have the mad skillz to handle anything that might come their way, but I keep getting hung up on Justin's claim that Frankie will fight dirty. That would be something to see. I mean something along the lines of poetry in motion but not graceful or beautiful in any way, but something awesome to behold. And then there's Rufus with a physique that Roger never even dreamed of having. Those muscles could be put to very good use. In a fight, I mean.

The Jonas Brothers were quite popular on The Disney Channel.
I reluctantly went to a Jonas Bros show a few years ago, and they put on a really good show. They had about a dozen musicians on stage, and you'd be surprised how many catchy songs they have as a band and in their side projects.
Their songs _not_ being catchy would surprise me a whole lot more.
So true, i got into their music in around 2019. Got some brilliantly written songs. DNCE also have some fantastic tunes

One of the unintended (?) consequences of extreme compression combined with autotune is that the vocals in most pop songs are now achingly, desperately LOUD. It turns out that if the humanity is squeezed and aligned OUT of a vocal it can fulfil almost any role you give it. This "tune" is a great example, with what Justin pointed out here regarding the words "waffle house". This kind of approach could be very powerful if the harmonies chosen weren't the same old tired major/minor tropes we've been enduring for decades. I'm nearly 70 years old now, and I can assure all you youngsters out there - it's only going to get worse from here on in!
@@bigpigeon2002 I don't have a problem with loudness, as long as it isn't to the point of flatlining the peaks! Even then that technique does suit some music.
But what I'm hearing more and more is the denuding of the arrangements to feature the vocal to the point where all of the drama is contained in the vocals, and the rest just acts as an ignorable background drone, pulsing rhythmically, but not doing much else.
But hey, I'm just some old half deaf dude whose day never happened. What do I know? lol

Wow, I just realized the silver fox end of the duo is Shawn Lee! ten years ago I saw AM & Shawn Lee at the echo and they blew me away. He's an amazing musician, producer, bassist especially, and I really love his synthesizers in space album. Zero surprise he's behind the project!

I love that your sizing them up to see how much shit talking you can get away with. Honestly you could probably take them in a one on one fight 🤣 I actually saw them live back in 2019 when they had like a reunion tour. Only reason I went was because I was a massive fangirl when I was 13 but now I actually had my own money unlike when I was 13. It was pure nostalgia but they actually put on a very good show. Loudest concert I've ever been to but I think that was mostly cause it was so many 30 year old women reliving their 13 year old self's dream of attending this concert and screaming their heads off. Not my type of music anymore but it was a very fun show confetti cannons and all!
As hard as it must have been to find something to appreciate here, you do a good job of making it feel unforced while still making it painfully obvious you're not enjoying it.
I like these kinds of videos better than the ones where you only say nice things about some new generic music you also don't listen to in your own time.
Something I think that would be cool would be deep dives into discographies of artists with big followings you're less familiar with instead of one off songs and then never listening further. I want to see you cover stuff like Mastodon and something from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard that isn't from the album Butterfly 3000. They've got like 20 other albums to pick from (try Infest The Rats Nest for something heavy). I know copyright strikes were an issue there, but I think they would be interesting even without the music playing, or just a short enough clip to show the feel of it. It's also weird how their label blocks that while being so bootleg friendly otherwise.
That could be another idea... How do you feel about bootlegs? As a fan and as an artist.

Dreadfully auto-tuned “singing” which I can’t stand, but I really dig that funky dancey sound! Will I listen to them again? Probably not. I shall instead go listen to some 70’s funk albums & check out that other band you mentioned. Cheers! They are actually brothers but anyway they used to be more guitar focused and less heavily produced they have good songs during their original run you should check out

Yet another excellent, acerbic, entertaining episode from my favourite entertainer gentleman.
I saw Les Miserables live (at the Sondheim, I think) and Nick Jonas was playing Marius. Definitely has a voice for pop songs, not theatre, although he wasn't bad to be fair.
Thought I'd comment that, since everything else I had to say about them involved sarcasm and mockery. I love that this degenerated into a soliloquy about fighting them.
