Really miss kirin chips. I wonder how they would handle 120hz with battery life. Face unlock in zero light conditions is a plus for me.... A beautiful alternative in 1.000 euro segment .

FYI if you put it in performance mode and do Antutu you should get nearer 950,000 according to Twitter and other reviews.
What's the use of that? What matters is real life performance
@@HansTechTalk I understand that, just when comparing with other devices that run on performance mode in Antutu, it is best to equalise the settings to get a fair comparison. So when comparing with Samsung on max performance then do the same for OPPO?
@@andyH_England @andyH_England Performance mode may get a quick burst of peak performance but it doesn't work that well in the long run, also if you try and compare 3dMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test then you will get a better and clear picture, personally, I think Antutu is a gimmick, I have a smartphone which gets 1 million in Antutu but when I play Genshin Impact, it lags/throttles... I am not from a English speaking country but I try to do some tests, if you have time, you may check some of my videos

Personally I am sitting out 8g1 and 888. Just not digging the approach from Qualcomm. 865, hell even 855 to me was better power to battery life balance
I have the Xiaomi 12 pro with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1. Battery life isn't the best when the screen is set on 120hz.
Have it set at 60hz gets a little bit more life out of it.
Have the phone for just over a month now when it got global release at the first of april.
Yeah, 855 still performs well
the 8 gen 1+ manufactured by tsmc is supposedly getting released next month or in july which will probably help the throttling situation unless they overclock the shit out of it
I also think snapdragon 865 was the pinnacle of technology. I personally use s21ultra with exynos2100

Sd 8 gen1 still throtles, its difficult to tame them wo a proper cooling like in nubia redmagic has.
Yes, true fi they have a fan in them like the Redmagic 7 series then it can perform without the throttling.

Like the Snapdragon 865 870 are the last Snapdragon chipsets that can maintain higher performance for a longer period without throttling These newer Snapdragon chipset are throttling alot after a few minutes of heavy use.
You can actually maintain highest performance for a long time, if only you get additional cooling

Yes that's apparently very hard to do I heard with the difference in the aperture. But could be improved.
Two questions:
1) does this have the touch shoulder gaming trigger options like the mate 40 pro does ?
2) is the battery life significantly improved if set the screen resolution to 720p and use 60hz refresh rate ?

Probably Oppo, better screen, bigger battery and faster charging. Camera performance is probably up there with the magic 4 pro, probably better depending on the situation

Sure 240 FPS (8x) to 120 FPS (4x) all slow motion videos are 1080p.

Vivo X70 Pro+ main camera is better with OIS and better at night shots

the edge display is not my type
the camera design looks weird but too big but I can live with that
with the front-facing camera video, the sound look muffled
but with the main back camera, it sound normal
the still photo quality is just too perfect
if the work a little on the videos without touching the still
it will be the camera king

Comparing this to the S22 Ultra Exynos, the Magic 4 Pro it's superior. Too bad that after 2 years this phone will be dead since Honor will stop support for it...
The UI performance defiantly is better compared to the Exynos Samsung S22 Ultra.

I'm assuming that you are in Australia and the power adapter that came with the phone is European. So the difference in charge time could be because the charger isn't designed for that power grid.
I'm in Spain and it's an EU charger correct power.

It’s good up to a certain point but it’s not like that 100x zoom is useable Samsung is the champ at high Zoom telephoto sensors

I really don't see the point in buying a Snapdragon 8Gen1 phone when they throttle so much, save some money and buy a last gen handset.
I agree on performance and thermals but the newer chips also offer upgrades in other features including LTPO 2.0, faster storage and RAM, better camera chips, better batteries (OPPO using new tech that doubles the life of the battery), faster charging, better PWM flicker, extra year support, etc. So it is not just a simple choice and if you use common sense like lower game setting or use game optimises then you can keep that heat down and have less throttling. So, no I would recommend getting a 2022 if you can afford it and look for a deal.
They are basicaly huawei phones with google services. Expect same great quality camera and overall build

A proper flagship from Honor, with a fluid UI and GMS which is great. Unfortunately like most phones with the hot 8 gen 1 it will throttle under heavy gaming. The fact that the front facing cameras do record in 4k saves face here. Other wise that pill shaped notch is quite off putting for me.

The wide angle secondary front camera and the 3D Face-ID makes the pill easily acceptable as it is adding value and making it different to the generic pinhole Samsung wannabes that litter the Android market. Before Huawei was banned, it was heading for number one smartphone, and there was a reason, functionality, and glad to see Honor keeping it real and simply not copying every other phone.
@@andyH_England Honor have done great job here no doubt. But personally I don't like the punch whole or the pill shape eye sour. Both are attention grabbing in a bad way. I hope manufacturers would perfect the under screen camera technology or meanwhile do what Sony is doing with their Xperia IV. Small Symetric bezels at the top and bottom where you include cameras and front facing stereo speakers.

@@mohammadzein504 The Sony way is gone, and Sony only sell under 1 million a year so they an anomalous. The pill is for 3D Face unlock phones and the pinhole for the rest, giving customers a choice of form or function. Under display cameras are 2-3 years away from being good enough for $1000+ phones.

no desktop mode review. i'm curios if they actually allow streaming services in desktop mode. cause on my magic ui 4.0 thats not allowed. also if they actually allow 4k resolution. so far motorola seems to be the best for this

The problem is with Samsung there the one producing the chip, rumors has Snapdragon gen 1 plus will be produced by tsmc.

The pill cut isn't pretty and for what? 3D secure unlock....Why they don't put 3D SBS 5K cam instead...?! Same for the back...More useful to my taste...
PS: Most of youtubers show us 4/3 shots, it could be more interesting to set photo to 16/9 mode for UA-cam viewers,
especially when builder still release phone with 8Mp 4/3 useless(only 6mp at 16/9..) cam for 16/9 4K screens...
That would have been good. Btw I tend always shot at the max res and default res with photos samples so that's 4:3 unfortunatly.
