Sisters, Irene and Floor Jansen..the dynamic singing duo. Both have been singing with Arjun since the late teens/early 20's I believe. Its a kickbutt tight knit family of musicians :) Wonderful reaction...Thank you!

The one really giving it her all in the grand finale is "Ayreon Angel" Marcela Bovio. Once noticed, you can't miss it. See: 20:56 🖤 "More Ayreon soon, eh?" Yay! 🤘

    So great!
With Floor, her sister Irene, and Arjen working together so long, that swell in their vocals will be 100% on purpose.
So true - a bloody choir of awesome lead singers.
    As you said, properly EPIC.

The iconic "whistling" synth tone... I always thought it was Arjen's tribute to Isao Tomita. Tomita used a similar tone in "The Planets".

One of the most underrated English singers at the beginning, Damian Wilson. And of course the Jansen sisters, Floor and Irene. Too many other great musicians and vocalists to list except maybe Anneke van Giersbergen, Marcela Bovio, Arjen Anthony, Marko Hietala and Michael Mills. And of course Joost van den Broek on keys.

I hope you never stop doing these reactions. You are by far the most knowledgeable and well spoken person that I've heard do music reactions. Perfect balance of analysis, genuine reaction, pausing and comparisons. Also your intro piece is FIRE. Very dream theater in my opinion. I'd like to hear more of your compositions.

First powerful start from Damian Wilson, then hard rock John Cuijpers plus double dose of Jansen sisters, and then Everybody 🤘🤩🤘.
This song is a tribute to the "Stargate" movie 1994 (An interstellar teleportation device, found in Egypt, leads to a planet with humans resembling ancient Egyptians who worship the god Ra.).
Huge Stargate fan here by the way 😁!
And this song is from Arjen's another projects called "Star One". there are 3 of them now (I have them all on vinyl), they are not concept albums, but tributes to many different sci-fi movies and TV-shows
    This was AWWESOME !!!!
    NWSU/Ayreonaut ✌😎🤘.

Ayreon Universe is packed with amazing performances of brilliant compositions by the best singers out there backed by a near perfect band. You should do some more reaction/analysis if for no other reason than that you're bound to love what you get to hear.
If you have to pick one I would say The blackboard/the theory of everything but there is plenty there to enjoy. After seeing bits of this on UA-cam I bought the CD, my first Ayreon album....then later I bought the Blu-ray, I have never felt the need to do that for one performance before!

Of course, besides the vocalists already mentioned by other users, there are also Hansi from Blind Guardian and Anneke from The Gathering. I recommend both of you great voices. Floor and Joost met at an Arjen project. So Joost became a band member of After Forever (1996 - 2008, playing different kinds of Metal).
He was composing together with the band and playing the piano/keyboard.
This Masterpiece for me is worth listening

The whistle tune you hear and similar sounds are often used in new-age electo/synthesiser music. Vangelis, for instance, has used it quite frequently in his compositions. Maybe you might know it from songs in that genre?

In my humble opinion, this is the greatest gathering of singing talent ever. Sure there are live aid, band aid, etc. but in popular music you can get away with not being the greatest singer, but Arjen does not invite anyone to participate in his project that is not world class, so everyone on that stage is at the top of their field.

I always wondered if Arjen picked the keys that this piece would be in based on both their similarity and difference. It starts in C minor, and that's our home key, representative of the humans who are travelling the Stargate to the other side of the galaxy (NB: the song is about the movie Stargate). And when they get there (with the Archeologist recounting the tale), the key centre goes up a major 2nd to D (not d minor, but D dorian, with a flat-5 sometimes popping in there - d e f g a-flat b c d...and sometimes a flat-6 too, so just like D natural minor), which is not THAT related to C minor, so it feels foreign and weird when you hear it, but it's also not that far away from C minor on the circle of fifths (C minor goes to G minor goes to D minor, so just 2 steps away), and there are quite a few common notes there (mainly D and G, and sometimes that weird, locrian-sounding flat-5), so it is not utterly foreign-feeling either (as the humans, upon travelling via Stargate, find another human-like race, and an Earth-like planet which is kind of like their home). And then they use what is in effect an inverted G powerchord in the vocals (Irene and Floor sing a D and G) to go back to C minor at the end. But note the absence of the third in that transition key; in D minor, the 4th of the key is G minor, which has a Bb in it, but because they're moving BACK to C minor, Arjen leaves the third out (in fact, they've been singing a B natural earlier in the Floor-Irene part anyway), so it feels like the dominant chord of C minor (and indeed, serves that function, as this is how we get back to C minor). And thus, returning to the home key represents the hope of returning home for the protagonists of the film.
    Just a thought.

I'm used to NOT listening to the audience clapping cause they're always off, but listening to NW or Ayreon it's no problem. Do bands like these select their audience? Like you have to demonstrate keeping a beat before you're allowed to enter? No beat? Next! 😁

As a suggestion, if you'd like to take this to the next level:
    The Flower Kings.
Swedish band, and they create songs of absolute beauty... Constantly changing and evolving, and yet instantly accessable at first take!! That's really hard to pull off, but that's exactly what they do.
