I know Andy is notoriously reclusive, but someone at Spitfire should do a comprehensive breakdown of this demo to show the level of detail required in his programming to achieve results like this. Seriously. Please.

Obscenely brilliant. Beyond the technical mastery of extracting unbelievable realism from sample libraries, the musicality and orchestration in his compositions are absolutely outstanding. Every time I hear one of Andy Blaney's demos, I'm mystified as to how he isn't scoring more big name tv and movie projects.

I havent heard any of Andys other works but this is certainly one of those orchestrations that fit into any of the millions of heroic action scenes out there, which is NOT a good thing for a filmmaker since it lacks character therefore. He likely made this with the only intend to show off the library tho, so lets all just take the demos for what they r

I don't think they give you enough time to write miles of more classical inspired score music these days. The minimalist movement ushered orchestral textures that are produced rapidly with minimal effort. In America we're several generations in for people that have never had any interest in classical music, and the only orchestral music this population hears is at the movies, and if it sounds like an orchestra playing pop music, so much the better for them.

As much as this is truly impressive I would like to hear slower melodic lines as well, to see how these libraries handle them.

It would be great to have a full list of the orchestra... not just the solo trumpet. Which strings, brass, winds, percussion? All from Spitfire Symphonic Orchestra? Except they never did percussion-- just the old percussion Toby Burgess library that was made before these libraries.

Yes, it would be very interesting to find out in a documented manner how long it takes him to create such masterpieces. A very successful composition and orchestration, Chapeau!
And also very inspirativ to write a work like this. ;-) Such works are always created when creative composers allow themselves the necessary seclusion.
Of course, it's also an advantage if you're a pianist. I assume that he is. Then it's like composing in a paint box with colors. A bright joy! :-)

Spitfire please feel free to contact me. I own Spitfire Symphonic Strings and BBC Strings and have never heard lows like this from the low strings (or from any other sample library). When directed to Blaney's "Reditus" on the Symphony demo page, I hear a sound that sounds more like the sound of a sample library. But this demo is sonically worlds apart. Now, perhaps it's layering of the other string libraries but the lows in particular do not sound like any lows ever produced by a library in my DAW (I also have Hollywood Stings and Cinematic Studio strings and Metropolis Ark 2 which sounds closer). In fact, if anyone reading this can teach me to create low strings (and perc transients) that sound like this library I would gladly take lessons. Just reply and tell me how to reach you.

Wow! Great piece! I long time underestimated this library - there are strange things going on in the woodwinds with inconsistent room tails - but since I treat the woodwinds with close mic and an IR reverb, it beats all the other big libraries I bought after it (Berlin, VSL, Cinematic, even BBCSO) in terms of realism, versatility and broad, high professional orchestral sound. *** Would like an updated, smoother legato for the strings ***, but nevertheless it's pure fun and creativity. I always went back to that wonderful library.
