An old timer pilot just gave me a lesson on batteries for headsets. He said to use Lithium batteries versus the standard ones. They’re more expensive but will hold up better and not die out as quick. But you’ll want to have a spare set in your case because when they go, they go.

Great tip - do you think you'll get the A30's?

@@SlingPilotAcademy No…..probably not. I’m a student pilot and just got my A20’s about 2 months ago. Barely have broken these in. I’ve heard mix reviews. Some kind and some not so kind. So I’ll hold off.

@@ron1969 The A20's are great nonetheless, you have plenty of time to break them in!

      Lightspeed Zulus 90hrs a month flying 135:
Bulk Rayovac from Lowe’s alkaline batts (60 AA’s for $30): 30hrs per pair of batts = .033 cents per flight hour
Bulk lithium Energizers from Amazon (60 AA’s for $164): 45hrs per pair (.12 cents per flight hour)
Lithiums do last a fair amount longer but the cost is still more per hour.
YMMV but just showing what I observed flying commercially, I wanted to know my cost so I tracked it. (western AK year round in 208’s & Navajo’s)

If you are wearing a baseball cap as many do in GA they might not slip off, but using them for commercial flying as I intended to do, they tend to keep slipping when tilting my head head. Give them a try without a cap for sure and you'll notice this. Several other pilots say the same thing.

The cables feel so cheap on the A30s. The headset in general feels worse than the A20s

These keep slipping off! Really annoying. Other colleagues have the same problem. This problem does not exist on the A20's. Going back to the A20's

Might want to disclose that this was an ad. Weird how you never mentioned for about $300 less you could get a DC One-X which has always been super comfortable. Less fatigue due to clamping than the A20, with very similar ENC and an admittedly sort of lack luster BT control. But why not mention that you could have an apples to apples comparable product for something like 25% less? Because this is a Bose ad, plain and simple.

OMG! Enough with the annoying music and time-wasting video effects and useless banter. Next!
