I don’t think people have gotten softer - there are now just much better platforms for people to express their discontent. Brawl had UA-cam comments and smash boards, now we have way more people playing and way more methods of communication.
Another great episode, keep it up! And I wanted to say that I also watch Tweek Talks, and enjoy them and appreciate their content, but they do seem to avoid some controversial topics, and they didn’t mention Samsora when they covered CFL, I really appreciate the lack of censorship and the bravery to hit the controversial stuff! Also I did want to hear what some top players thought about what Tweek said about Steve and Kazuya. I’m sure plenty are pro van but I couldn’t fathom “ALL”. As I said I love those guys, it’s not a knock but I really enjoy getting different takes and hearing more sides on the storylines! :)
The Steve ban is a rough topic because I think the trigger was pulled to early. PMLG scared everyone into thinking the game would die and so they pre-emptively banned him. Had PMLG become an overcentralizing thing that ruined tournaments, I think it would be ban-worthy. But just banning the tech seems fair enough because no one who's actually serious about being good is going to risk being banned from a tournament just to get an advantage with the character that's already the best in the game.
They cherry pick data to scew the argument in their favor. They over exageratted everything that Steve has and the tournaments that steve players have won. They even over exageratte his dominance. The true Mickey Mouses in the scene. This episode was also very good and I'm glad they don't sensor too much stuff and at least talking about Samsora.
Let Samsora play. A lot of shit happened and how can people grow if not given a chance to show improvement. Whether in Smash or life. I agree a break was needed and people needed to step back and look at how minors were involved in the scene. However I don’t think it’s fair he’s permanently banned when so many other people were involved in that situation and faced no consequences.
The better answer is to hold all of them accountable and have them all be banned, makes the community look terrible having these people still involved in the scene. I STILL hear people outside of the scene associate smash with fucked stuff, and this type of attitude is going to ensure that reputation stays around.

Thank you for saying the thing about the commentary. I've watched a decent amount of their streams and they're always crazy loud and hype. Too much sometimes, but CFL was fun. Grand Finals did have "real" commentary thrown in with the joking. And the final moment was made so much better when everyone, commentators included, rushed their boy for the win.
Thank you for addressing the whole "top players said" stuff and the commentary stuff as well. its nice to hear top players genuine thoughts on these things and not on twitter LOL
