I have noticed this decade thecwhole 90s nostalgia/revival thing has come full swing and shed the ‘core influence completely (mostly). It’s just a bit heavier than the 90s. I love it. It’s fresh.

Mark my words, this will be the new Adventures, as in that they will at most do 3 releases and then be put to rest and whenever the band gets asked when it's coming back they say we just don't have the time. Much respect though to Vein and Code, I love the drumming to both bands.

I also love Fleshwater, Fleshwater does have a very deftones type of playing, but i also never actually said that Adventures and Fleshwater sound similar. The only similarity is they are both side projects to larger Hardcore bands
Deftones are my favorite band, but I hate how any band that’s heavy and has some shoegaze vibes gets compared to Deftones like they’re the only band that’s ever done that lol. I gotta assume the only music you’ve ever heard is a couple Deftones songs if you think this sounds like Deftones. Maybe Deftones are just one of the more famous bands that have had that kinda sound and that’s why people compare everything to them, but y’all need to venture out to more music because there’s a lotta good shit out there.
what are some other heavy shoegaze bands? i only know the popular blackgazey stuff like deafheaven, alcest and agalloch. have a nice life is like dark shoegaze but not really heavy/rock/metal. what would you recommend?
