Litter size was likely 10-12. That's typical for a first time gilt. The two surviving piglets are not indicative of the litter size. Not sure how many others there were, but the others died because the other litter stole colostrum.
@taylormclouth2318 There are probably people who can give better answer. We were a small dairy with several hogs as a sideline. For dairy calves the first four days were vital . We couldn't sell milk with colostrum in it, but the calf needed it. After that the calf did fine on whole milk, or milk replacer. I assume pigs, and other mammals are the same.

Question- do you castrate your male piglets at/around birth? Your videos have helped me learn so much about hands-on pig farming!
yes
what is u using for shooting your videos ?
I’ve got several different cameras. Cell phone, DJI action pro, and a
Sony a6700
ThankQ
Thanks bud.
How are you efficiently with pigs on pasture keeping a male from breeding with his kids?
The little ones are removed from the breeding herd at weaning, so there isn't a chance of breeding.
Disappointed at the litter size. Thank you.

Is colostrum a pig feed im not a 100% sure on pig farming. My AG teacher is having us do a paper on this topic.
