My dad passed 4 yrs ago from aggressive lung cancer, I still to this day pay for his cell phone bill just to keep it going. Can't bring myself to cancel it.
Keep paying that bill. I wish I could still hear my dad. Mine passed in 06 when I was 15. I remember calling his cell phone up just to hear his voice mail.

3/19…. I’m glade I flew up a year earlier and had a drink with him had a 3 day walleye trip in SD. and that unknowingly would be the last hug I gave him. It was a long hug… so long it felt different. And I think about it a lot thank you for this. 25 now with 1 year old daughter. Thankful my girlfriend now Fiancé… ( never had a father in her life) got the chance to speak and to have at least heard his voice and one conversation together and it means the world now.. just thank you.

My father passed away 2 yeara ago this week. My mother died 20 days before. It was a testament to their love. 68 years of marriage. People ask, "I'm so sorry- how do you deal with that"....I look and smile. I had them for 48 years. All of them good, loving, caring, and nurturing years. I was so lucky in so many ways blessed with 2 loving parents. But they got a chance to see me grow from a boy to a man and it was due to them, 4 grandkids they watched grow to adults. I'm sad- but grateful. Miss you dad!

Cancer is a evil disease that took my dads life on March 8th 2019 at 66 years old, he never smoked, never chewed tobacco, never drank and never did drugs, he was a beautiful person and loved the Lord, he worked hard his whole life, loved my mom who he married 43 years ago, loved me and my brothers and all of his grandchildren, he will be missed dearly.

11/5/13- pap took his last breath. One week prior he was in the deer woods. He had shot the biggest buck in his life, a 9 point that hangs on my wall. He raised me from age 2. Taught me how to fix cars, build houses, hunt and fish. He raised me to be the person i am today. I hope i make him as happy as he made me.

recently lost my dad at 46; on father's day was the first time I heard this song. on my way to work on Pandora. it was meant to be for the moment to hear this song. it's a drive I will never forget. he was a hard working man. the cancer got to him but he never gave up the fight. I promised him I'd move a 1000 miles to attend college. started a few months after he passed. will never forget what he said "please get to that school" before he left the Hospital to go to the hospice. I will make him proud. never told anyone one this but he's the reason why I started looking at what I wanted to pursue in college. looked up one day, saw the planes flying in the air. thought to myself, I fix my own car myself being a mechanic would be great. let's make it better and become an aviation mechanic technician. told my dad about that. he was super proud, I won't let him down. down here in texas doing what I told him what I'd do before he passed.

Its me again, i just cant get enough of matts song! It means so much to me that i will never forget my old man. I got the call in 2009 and i watch my dad that was able to walk and slowly went into a wheelchair! My friend Tim, my girlfriend and I took him for his last Elk hunt in oct 2017 and shortly afterwards he past away in our home! I look at the spot were the hospital bed was, i cry but i think about the good times we had, fishing, hunting, mushroom picking, going to Alaska, those memories will always be in my Heart! We miss you Dad always. Ill see you soon at the Columbia river were we salmon fish all the time, we put his ashes in the river so every year his son fishes with his old man like he use too! I lost my dad a few months ago. He was 71 died suddenly while healing at a rehab, I should be lucky for the time I got with him. I've been told I sound and look just like him, he wasn't perfect, but to me he was pretty great, taught me so many things that I love to this day. It just pains me knowing I can't just call him up and talk to him, hear him laughing or just call to say hi. It's going to be tough, but I hope my dad is watching over us.

The part at the end with grandpa dancing with his grand daughter gets me everytime. My daughter Olivia was born January 6th 2010. That winter in northeast Pennsylvania was one of the coldest that I can remember. When we brought her home I couldn't wait to bring her over to my dads. I talked to him on the phone and he said you keep that baby inside it's too cold to bring her out. Well that cold snap lasted a few weeks. Got a call the day before Valentine's day that same year. My brother in law found my father in his horse pasture. Fell off his tractor from a massive heart attack. Needless to say the first time he met his granddaughter was at his funeral. I never thought I'd regret listening to my father like I always had. That's one time I wish i wouldn't have listened to him. I wish he had got a chance to dance with her just once.

This song reminds me so much much of my Dad. He worked for J.W. Buck Construction for years, drove a truck and pulled equipment for the jobs. Worked hard out in the cold and heat. His hands were rough and tough looking. I lost my Dad on 2-21-16 due to a fall and blow to his head on 2-09-16 the day after his 79th birthday. It seems like just yesterday sometimes and today is one of those day. I love and miss you soo much Dad.

My dad shot himself 12/26/2019, "the day after Christmas". I still can't believe the man that taught me everything, the man that i always hoped to be like, could do something like this. He was ONE HELL OF A MAN. His suicide has really fucked with my mind.. I lost my little brother 10/16/2017. He fell asleep on his way to work, that monday morning, and hit a tree. He was 20 years old. I was 26 when that happened. These last few year have been rough on me, i mean, I can literally feel the emptiness, but I know there are people in this world that have it way worse than me. That old CAT is something he spent thousands of hours on. I think it was really awesome giving him that final ride on that lowboy you know he jumped off of a million times. She was patient and kind. She taught autistic children for 13 years. I could never do the work she did. We lost her at 43 years old from an undiagnosed heart condition. Me and my brother making a point to see each other on a constant basis now. We see each other more and spend more time together now then we did when we were teenagers and living with our separate parents.

I lost my dad at age 12 in june 2019 and my birthday was in october i turned 13 so now it is just me and my mom now. We are going throught all of the holidays for the first time without him.

Dad died 11 years ago. He raised me, he didn’t have too we weren’t blood but he loved me like no one else on this world. It still hurts. But I smile when I think of him.
