Nice react! And also, nice Lilith behind :D
Alex Terrible has entered the chat. You legend!

Awesome you comment in here. Love your work
The reason us metalheads love these reaction videos so much is we are all like "See, it's not just noise. Elizabeth said so."
True haha
Exactly, everyone can scream but not everyone can turn it into a headbanging music
That, and the absolutely adorable way she reacts to harsh vocals with that giggle she does 😝😝😝
Yes!
AND finally we can get someone to actually listen the song and not just be looking at their phone and say "yeah. Nice. Not for me tho" but instead we actually get a reaction and to me thats awesome!

Hearing THE "Demolisher" scream, live, with no fucking mic, is the most insane, mind blowing, powerful thing i have ever heard a human being make in my entire life. There isnt a close second. He is not of this earth.

He hates that China more than Trump does..
He's slapping that China like it's his ginger haird step kid
What he hates most is playing his sticks the 'right' way around. Sending his skins straight to hell - to join Alex lol
Someone should call the cops, it's definitely classified as assault.

The two things I get from watching this reaction over and over again are;
1. I'm dying for a Tea Time Interview with Alex.
2. She's ready for a reaction to Infant Annihilator (Audio wise, probably (definitely) not lyrically)

That eye-fluttering "trying to figure out what's going on" in the beginning was priceless 😂
I really love how open minded you are about heavy music. You find the beauty in it and dont dismiss it as just noise. Nothing but respect for you!
💯
Evgeniy (The Drummer) plays with his sticks backwards, the butt of the stick gives a much ig chunkier sound than if you play with the tip, this gives it so much of a fatter sound which does help compliment Alex’s deep vocals. It also gives a bigger lower noise from the cymbals
That’s amazing, love it haha

Alex is just a freak of nature, for me he is the best metal vocalist of my generation, love him and hope he treats his vocal cords well, and he remains with this amazing gutturals and growls for a long long time
Dickie Allen, Cj McCreery, Kyle Anderson, Dave Simonich, Will Ramos, Ben Mason and many others and you say Alex is the greatest? Come on lad 😂
He’s an absolute monster of a vocalist. The pure power in his voice is on another level.
I'm old. I've been into metal and the subsequent genres for a long time relative to the lifespan they each have. I've had the pleasure of being here to watch thrash metal transform into death metal, black metal, nu metal, all the many metals. I believe we are currently in a golden age of metal music.
For a long time I personally felt most metal music didn't get the recognition it deserved as an art form, and sometimes felt it was doomed to be an underappreciated subculture for my lifetime. I'm so happy to see I was wrong.
Anyway I just wanted to express how happy it makes me to see people who haven't been submerged in the music be excited about it whether it's from an artistic or scientific standpoint or both. When it comes to art, screw gatekeeping IMO. Thanks for your content and enjoy getting your ass kicked by sound! :D
Total agreement
Could not agree more, 50+ guy here, went all the way from early Maiden and Metallica through pretty much everything else, from Frost to Bathory to Napalm Death and all the rest. And metal is not just going strong but doing better than ever. Rock on.
So happy to see a comment here that’s nothing but positive and good vibes. 🤘🤘
So that "DEMOLISHER" scream Alex does? During shows he screams that without the mic and if you're within the first couple rows you can FEEL it hit you. It's absolutely amazing.
Confirm .
I'm dying to go to a slaughter show but they aren't doing a UK tour anytime soon it would appear ;^;
Wait... What? Duuuuuude!!!!!!!
Can confirm. This is terrifying. 😆
Can confirm
The "DEMOLISHER" part is not simultaneous noises, its layered vocal parts. The pitch he achieves in each layer is 100% real with no pitch shift. There are videos of him doing it solo because people think its fake.
By layered vocal parts you mean post production stuff right?
@@Peterphoskytos Yea. You record the same word for example, with different techniques or pitches.
@@Peterphoskytos More like multi tracking. 2 or 3 vocal tracks layered on top of each other. It sounds like he has a higher pitch scream layered on top of a lower growl. Im sure there is plenty of post production to get the tracks to sit right together, but no pitch shifting or major effects or anything like that.
@@adolfslinger123 oh I see. I could hear the distinct screaming, i just couldn't understand if that was humanly possible, so it does make sense that it is layered screams
@@KingOfAshesMusic i see. I was just wandering if by layers you meant that he actually managed to create those layers by himself, and achieve different sounding screams in one scream ,although that seems humanly impossible but im not that familiar with this stuff so 😅

So many “reaction” videos out there are just highlighting the video itself, but man I could listen to you talk about metal for hours. You have such an artistic way of receiving and processing this. It was FASCINATING, thank you.
Best part is love he’ll ditch the mic for “demolisherrr” and you’ll hear it clear to the back. INSANE live.
That part where he screams "Demolisher" in the break down without the mic, he does that live. And there's videos that you can hear him clear as day in a venue. Fucking brutal
yeah the volume is loud but the 3 layers is a post production thing you don't get that live

Reminds me of J.R. Hayes from Pig Destroyer straight up doing an entire song in a small club without a mic when it broke in the beginning of the song.

I don't know if anyone else has said this yet in the comments but Alex has talked about how long its taken him to get that low and it was something like 12 years. Dude has been at it for a while and it shows. He's a beast.
Yeah! I trained my voice up about an octave in a couple years, without really trying... since I'm a drummer. It just happened, singing along to some Iron Maiden. Going lower, though... I can go a couple steps lower than before, but it's like with each step, the power behind my voice decreases exponentially, until it is barely a whisper.
You should know CJ too from Thy Art is Murder
@@asbjrnfossmo1589 with metal screaming it is even more different because although your vocal anatomy will obviously change how you sound, a lot of how low and high screams can get is dependent on different techniques, access and control of different parts of your vocal anatomy and most importantly control of air flow.
The technique is reasonable enough to wrap your head around as a casual practitioner but the control over the tone and timbre and the amount of compression this dude can just conjure up is absolutely insane.
@@IcepersonYT yeah I'm learning that to produce a growl safely is super easy once you get the knack of it, but singing a line, let alone a song, or a whole show, while running around kicking ass, is another thing entirely.

I love your reactions in general, but these first-time reactions to such extreme vocalists always crack me up. It's been fun watching you slowly be drawn to the dark side... Your endless curiosity and non-judgmental willingness to give different styles a chance is admirable. Metal vocalists, especially ones on the more extreme side like Alex, are so often easily dismissed and misunderstood. People don't really realize how much work, training, talent, and skill (when actually done correctly) goes into it, and how they should be just as respected as other singers/vocalists. Watching professionals like you actually listen, deconstruct, and come to that realization is awesome to see. Keep up your great work!
Also, check out the band "Low Roar", they're on the super chill side and the singer is incredible. IDK if you'll read this, but if you do, I think you'll like live acoustic version of "Without You". It's just him with a guitar, but it really gives you an example of his talent. When I first heard a certain part in the song, I instantly thought of you. The video is listed as "Low Roar - Session Acoustique - "Without You"". Basically all their songs are great, especially if you are in the mood for vibing to some really chill stuff. They probably haven't been suggested yet, so I don't expect you to do a reaction video, but it would be fun to see what you think.
At this point I am waiting when an infant Annihilator reaction is going to happen . 😆
Yep, thats the face. Thumbnail nailed it.
Woooop!
Seeing reactions like this makes my metalhead heart swell up. I’ve always known real musicians and music nerds know how impressive metal is. Seeing you nerd out over Alex’s vocals is so good, because he is one of the most impressive vocalists in metal currently.
Damn straight
Will ramos is better imo but Alex is definitely a close second
@@majimagoro9981 They're both very top tier. We're blessed to have them pumping out songs at the same time. Their skill is immense
@@browny1490 for sure man love it
Yeah honestly he's one of the few I would elevate to the level of Phil Bozeman
I was so amazed of seeing her reacting hahaha and I learned su much, new sub !
Alex is capable of vocals I truly don't understand. He does some sort of doubling naturally that is truly unique and fascinating. What a great song to show the biological diagram of vocals to, thanks for another great video and analysis Elizabeth.
Alex does tons of covers that are actually super entertaining. The sia cover was awesome. The new sing baba yaga is epic as well. It shows a lot more of Alexis different styles.
Exactly what I wanted to say, Baba Yaga shows a lot more versatility IMO
I love his covers ... not to mention the videos he does for some of them are funny as hell. My introduction to Alex was his cover of Lonly Day and I was in stitches from laughing
"There are not enough research papers on metal" - that had me laugh out loud.
Didn't know the band and your vocal analysis really shed some light to how they use their voice, thank you!
the mix on this song is done perfectly
16:52 I am in tears at how her face went from excitement to pure, unfiltered terror when she realized something was coming 🤣 🤘
Alex's voice is an audio analog of how I feel inside. I am thankful for that.
I had no idea these guys existed. Thank you for doing the video. I love this band now.
