As Someone Who Thinks Every Crimson Album is Epic, Thrak is Certainly One of The Most Interesting, Likely Due to The Sheer Ammount of Tracks, And Because of That, The Ever Changing Tone And Theme of The Album is Constantly Changing, And I Like That
This song is so polyrhythmic. Love the interplay between Bruford Mastelotto. Also Levin uses short drum sticks on his fingers to get the percussive sound on his bass on the first part of the song. Plus Fripp, Belew, and Gunn. This is what a true Super Group sounds like.
Finally glad to see my top favorite song reuploaded to avoid the flaws of UA-cam Topic uploads (region lock and no comments); Robert's clean tone, Adrian's crazy noises, Trey's Stick having a wah to it, Bill and Pat doin' what they do best with their percussion, and Levin using Funk Fingers on a 5 string. Crimson apparently penned a song about the Beatles called "Happy Family" , it's on the Lizard album. I think the influence of the Beatles has been acknowledged in many band interviews, and in some mystical way many of us feel that this is one of the directions that the Beatles sound/influence has taken since their demise.
