geoanimator I heard they did it as a soundcheck before a concert, but I've never heard it during a concert, and I've been a fan since Parachutes. But I could be wrong...
Actually, this was the 3rd time that A Whisper was ever played live. So happy to see that the band finally decided to give this song a breath of fresh air! It's one of my personal favourites off of a Rush Of Blood To The Head (arguably one of the best albums of all time).
one of me favourite all time Coldplay songs, but they never play it! it puzzles me with a lot of bands, they have really good songs on record but are never played live... I think their mindset would be majority of the crowd will only want to hear Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, Viva La Vida etc. most of them won't know A Whisper haha or Spies! another really good one they never play... thanks for filming this!!
you should look their interviews, they didnt like some of their song played live, because they didnt have the "that" feeling. speed of sound is one of them, they hate the record ones, so when they play it live they always played the stripped version (except when the twisted logic tour) . my information is not 100% correct (sorry for bad english)
@Marcelo Sandoval good news - Sparks and Politik are now regular songs at their concerts. ENL was played last year while Lovers in Japan was played during their 2019 "tour"
Wow imagine being a new generation of Coldplay fan expecting something from Mylo Xyloto or Ghost Stories and hearing this relatively unknown track outside of their norm and thinking WTF is this! the late 90’s and early 2000’s are the golden years for Coldplay, they should have gone more into the “heavier” rock scene.
Yeah they’ve only ever played it two times live. It’s funny because a soundcheck around the time they first played it in 2002 almost resulted in Chris and Guy getting into a real fight.
A whisper, a whisper, a whisper, a whisper A whisper, a whisper, a whisper, a whisper I hear the sound of a ticking of clocks Remember your face, and remember see where you are gone I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks Come back and look for me, look for me when I am lost Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper Night turns to day and I still have these questions You just won't break, should I go forwards or backwards Night turns to day and I've still got no answers Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper Now I hear the sound of a ticking of clocks Remember your face, and remember see where you are gone I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks Come back and look for me, look for me when I am lost Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper

see they should have just made the actual studio version of the song actually have an ending rather than just a lazy fade, a whisper had great potential but I felt on the album they didn’t polish it nearly enough
My favourite Coldplay song, even though I don't really like 90pc of it, but the outro guitar refrain is simply wonderful - shame CM bawled all over it...
Your least favorite Coldplay song? There are sooo many overrated, boring Coldplay songs on the last couple of albums. This one is for sure in my top ten Coldplay songs.
What a rare treat. Very lucky crowd that night.
Very very very lucky crowd
This is the only time Coldplay has ever played this song during a concert... Are you the only person to record it? If so, congratulations!
geoanimator I heard they did it as a soundcheck before a concert, but I've never heard it during a concert, and I've been a fan since Parachutes. But I could be wrong...
The only song they have never player (beside besides) was Twisted Logic despite the fact there was a tour called that
Krisztián Nagy When?! I asked oracle on coldplay.com and he said that twisted logic was the only song they have never played!
+Krisztián Nagy No, no i mean except b-sides, but yeah Up WIth The Birds and U.F.O also wasn't played live yet, i have completely forgotten about them
They soundchecked Up With The Birds recently.
let's take a moment to appreciate the fact that this song was played live and especially in the era of ghost stories

A rush of blood to the head y politik :c
@@sogue9719 Politik is amazing. I had the lucky opportunity to listen that gem at their gig in Buenos Aires (March 2016) and I went nuts.
@Marcelo Sandoval good news - Sparks and Politik are now regular songs at their concerts. ENL was played last year while Lovers in Japan was played during their 2019 "tour"
Spies is an incredible song. One of their best. I hope I can hear it live one day.
What a magical song
AROBTTH meets GHOST STORIES
Honey Buckin I know this comment is really old, BUT SAME!

You never know with Coldplay. Since, Everyday Life also going Gospel with the choir. Legends for sure!

OMG A Whisper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First time they play this live... WOW
This WASN'T the first performance of the song
FUCKING AWESOME
CHRIS IS PLAYING ELETRIC GUITAR, YEAH, BABY
First time played live since September 4, 2002
Yeah they’ve only ever played it two times live. It’s funny because a soundcheck around the time they first played it in 2002 almost resulted in Chris and Guy getting into a real fight.
A whisper, a whisper, a whisper, a whisper
A whisper, a whisper, a whisper, a whisper
I hear the sound of a ticking of clocks
Remember your face, and remember see where you are gone
I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks
Come back and look for me, look for me when I am lost
Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper
Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper
Night turns to day and I still have these questions
You just won't break, should I go forwards or backwards
Night turns to day and I've still got no answers
Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper
Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper
Now I hear the sound of a ticking of clocks
Remember your face, and remember see where you are gone
I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks
Come back and look for me, look for me when I am lost
Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper
Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper
Remember your face, who remembers you when you're gone*
Oh my F****!!!
Did they open with this?
Once every century... 😂
Coldplay performs A Whisper in 02 03 a lot of times 🤣
It wasn't the first time live. They did it once in 2002.
+Wallfish only soundcheck

They never played it though. I remember I heard on an interview or something that they skipped it. They did do a soundcheck of it, though.

"זה מה שתמיד היינו שומעים בצבא"
My favourite Coldplay song, even though I don't really like 90pc of it, but the outro guitar refrain is simply wonderful - shame CM bawled all over it...
Your favorite song, yet you dislike 90% of it? That's funny.
The outro is in my opinion one of their best ever. It had been my ringtone from 2006 till 2014 😊
does he always dance like a fairy when he's playing guitar?
A Whisper is probably my least favorite Coldplay song but to see them play it after it being so rarely played live, I would've FREAKED OUT!!!
I like the song it brings a strange feel to the brain
Your least favorite Coldplay song? There are sooo many overrated, boring Coldplay songs on the last couple of albums. This one is for sure in my top ten Coldplay songs.
CANNOT HEAR THE LEAD GUITAR!!!!
El viejo coldplay si hubieran electronizado esta cancion se pierde esa escencia roquera que tiene
Ok boomer
Not a fan of this version I like it more on the album
A average song from AROBTH destroying musically everything they have done in the past 10 years
