👋 Hello friends! It's Jaz from Australia!
Welcome back to my channel and if you're new, welcome forward to my channel!
I’m an Autistic ADHDer and a big part of what I do is share my neurodivergent experiences in hopes that my friends around the world can relate!
I stand for encouraging and promoting opportunities for more conversation about individual neurodivergent experiences.
Nobody should ever be without support or be invalidated for simply existing or asking for support. Navigating a world that was not designed for our brains is a challenge, so why should we have to go it alone?

Acknowledgement of Country
I support and encourage the growth and inclusion of all Australians to help ensure Indigenous Aboriginal culture is strengthened and validated.
I am grateful to walk Australia’s scenic landscape and I cherish daily encounters with the wildlife that belong to this Country.
Sovereignty was never ceded.
I am a non-indigenous person and indigenous culture is very close to my heart. Australia is my place of origin, and I am forever thankful to live in this amazing Country.

As someone who lives in Australia and is getting an assistance dog soon this seems extremely scary 😰 I’m so sorry this happened to you!! I have seen multiple people in America carry around ADA law cards, when I get my puppy I’m going to work up DDA (pre sure that’s our law-) law cards because I thought it was a good idea. Discrimination really needs to end. This really is disgusting to see, people need to calm down and realise they aren’t above the law.
im so sorry you had to go through this im tired of reading that ppl who have a disability and have a special dog are treated like they shouldnt be around what they dont seem to understand that at any time they or theirs could end up in the same situation keep the faith sweetie what goes around comes around
YES - IT’S NOT OK! Thx for sharing I know it was hard but you’re advocating for what is right & hopefully you will spare other handlers from this kind of discrimination & abuse! Stay strong & GOD bless!🐾
In the US, we have the ADA and the ACLU who would help to advocate on your behalf. I hope Australia has something similar for you. Big hugs!
Hello! Firstly, thanks for subscribing!
That's a really good point to mention that there are established organisations that can assist with incidents of discrimination.
I might add some links to the description!
I really appreciate your support. Thank you! 💙🧡💙
oh there is
Emotional support animals don’t apply
@@copperridgegrow3940 no they dont
as a fellow assistance dog hander in aus, i'm sorry this happened to you.
Thank you. It means so much to know my videos are reaching fellow Aussie handlers. You've helped to remind me I'm not alone. 💙🧡💙
I’m so sorry you had to go through this terrible experience and commend you for standing up for yourself and others and finding the courage to share your story and experiences
Yes me too, so sorry this happened
4:43 First off, I applaud you for stepping out and speaking out for those that can’t. I am so sorry you went through that horrible experience at your hotel. I live in the US and am so thankful that I have never experienced anything negative when I have my service dog with me. Secondly, I want to lend my support to what you said. If we ever see someone being treated wrong in any way, it is our duty to do something, whether calling the police or stepping up and saying ENOUGH. If we stand together we are so much stronger.
I just found your post and look forward to seeing more of your posts.
Thank so much for your kind words and support. Yes, we really need to come together from all areas across the globe to support one another and stand up for our rights.
I also look forward to sharing more videos in the future and hope to reach more people far and wide so I can continue sharing further insight and experiences. 💕
Anyone that is experiencing discrimination, no matter the type, you are not alone. You matter and your experiences are valid.
Hey, just wanted you to know that i am sorry for what happened to you, and remember you are not alone!
Just want to thank you for speaking up!
I’m from Melbourne and I’m looking at getting a service dog myself soon to help with my anxiety and other disabilities that I’ve got.
If this happened to me when I actually got my own dog and I was travelling with it and was planning to stay in a motel somewhere and then this happened to me I would’ve just explained calmly and if they still didn’t want anything to do with me then I’d just leave and find somewhere else to stay instead! But if I’m booking ahead I’d always tell them that I’ve got a service dog which needs to be with me all the time and if they don’t care then I’ll find something else instead again!
But I’d always try and remain calm and professional and not get angry with the staff and if all else fails I’d just leave!
Plus I’d go online and print out some cards with some information about service dogs in Australia too and have a few of them with me in my bag. Plus I’d get a dog vest which would have patches on it stating it’s the law and other things on it too from what I’ve seen on videos from American dogs.
But I’d always stand up for myself but if they still don’t listen then I’d just leave the area that I’m in and report them afterwards.
Soo sorry dear. I too was yelled at during a stop at a gas station for a soda. It was humiliating and mean. I too tried to explain that it was a Federal law here in America. It feel on deaf ears and a stupid customer waiting actually called me a liar!
Oh, gosh, I'm so sorry that happened to you. You deserve to be treated with respect.
In the USA that is against the Law. I Feel for you, because I have a invisible disability & I am willing to fight with you.
Thank you. We all gotta stand together and let our voices be heard. Bit by bit we can help spread awareness, create change and build understanding.
No matter where we are in the world, we're all in this together.
Please tell me you’re following this up and taking further action? NO ONE has the right to do something that puts you in such a state or make you feel so scared. Could I also ask for more info about what happened, if you’re up to it?
Btw, where abouts in aus are you? I ask because I’m in Toowoomba myself. And may I ask where you had this issue as I am wanting to start travelling around a bit, so I try to gather info about places that cause access issues, so I can avoid them. I’m also autistic, among several other challenges. Btw, you don’t have to answer any question you don’t want to.
Thx for sharing. Nice to see another Aussie service dog handler on UA-cam.
That happened to me two years ago in a hotel in Iowa and I had to get a local lawyer on them and then they changed their tuna said I could stay there. I just went ahead and move to another hotel I'm a disability Advocate as well as a service dog owner and trainer sorry you went through that.
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear you went through something similar.
Experiences like this really can leave us feeling shaken, and I understand why you moved hotels. I didn't feel safe after what happened and wanted to leave too.
I was worried that they might walk in and take my dog away from me or evict me but I didn't have anywhere else I could go.
Thanks for watching my video and also I'm glad you are advocating for our rights, the world needs more people like us communicating about stuff like this. The world needs to know the truth. 💕
@@JazfromAustralia thank you for the reply and thank you for the work that you do on educating people about service dogs
💪💪💪💪💪
Don’t listen to them they are not right to say that you are ok
Thank you for your support
I am doing much better now. Unfortunately this is just one of many experiences I’ve had since having a Service Dog (known as an Assistance Dog in Australia)
I hope to do more videos on this topic in the future.
Also, thank you for subscribing!
Jaz
it sucks to hear that, but get use to it, this is all part of having a SD. It could have been worse.
This is absolutely not ok!! I'm so sorry this happened to you! That is terrible
:( people like this are terrible and I wish this wasn't an issue.
I've also had people discriminating against some friends of mine that have autism:( it makes me so mad. I always stand up for them despite my own disabilities and I try my best to help them through it. People need to be more accepting:(
@@GreyWolfK9s Thank you for your kind words and support.
I'm glad your friends have you there looking out for them.
The world needs people like us to communicate about these issues because there is so much power in our voices.
Call your parents! That’s what they’re for! If your mother & father have died call the police!
Are you ok?
are you OK? Is it okay outside? Are you safe now?
Hello! Yes, I'm feeling much better now. A few nights I woke up to nightmares of Chloe being taken from me which was tough. I did struggle to leave my room for about a week afterwards because I had a lot of anxiety and was worried he might be out there somewhere waiting for Chloe and I. But thankfully nothing has happened since that call and I'm safe.
I really appreciate your concern 💙🧡💙
@@JazfromAustralia This is good, thank you for removing the anxiety with your comforting words, and I am glad that you are fine, and I wish you a happy life 🦋
