Thanks for the kind words and support! All vehicles come to us through the manufacturer media fleets, at no charge. We've never reviewed a rental car, nor relied on a dealers lot for a review. We spent over $4,000 on gasoline alone last year for the test vehicles and countless hours keeping them clean.
We have a 2008 model, 6 yrs old, not one problem yet, smooth riding, very powerfull, Quiet, So far we are very happy with it. It gets about 38-39 m.p.g on the hwy. Glad i got it, i would buy another.
There are many variables, with yearly mileage and fuel prices having the most impact. It all depends on the specific situation. The argument could be made that all cars are a waste of money if you buy them new, rather than buying a previously owned vehicle, after the big hit of depreciation. Hybrids do not need to be junked after ten years. Battery replacement costs are headed downward.
Dan, where do you get your cars? Do you have to pay to rent them? or is it some sort of deal like "You do a good review on the car, we lend it to you for free."? You do many reviews, so I just want to know if you have to pay for them. By the way, you have been awesome with replying to my questions, just saying. Thanks so much for the replies in the past!

I read in the newspaper today about people suing ford for false mpg numbers, as much as 27% incorrect! on the fusion and the new c-max, O C register 4/24/13 issue.
