Absolute here for more book content 😍 also the opening sequence is so cozy and so much like Christmas in the most spring-like way, if that makes sense at all 😂
Love seeing people working where their passion lies. And also really enjoyed seeing you interact with the bookseller. You do a nice chat! And the Mitford sisters are quite an interesting story too for anyone who likes a peek into the intrigues of the past!
Can I just say that as a long-time BookTube fanatic whose fallen out of love with it for a little bit, I am really starting to get back into my BookTube love because of your videos? Thank you, Lucy! ♥️
Lucy!!!! I LOVE THIS FOR YOU!!! Also, you’re such a lovely person, you could tell Conal was a bit nervous and you were so sweet and seemed to make them so much more comfortable.
Thank you SO MUCH 💗 It's been a while since I vlogged with anyone who's not friends and family so I was a bit nervous too! But they were so lovely to chat to x
I picked up the Ruth Ozeki because I was drawn to the cover, and I’m completely entranced. I feel like I KNOW the characters, it is utterly fantastic!!
This was divine. So comforting and cozy. It’s starting to get quite cold here in Australia and while I’m lying snug in bed, watching this was so lovely and just the right thing to settle in with and watch, so soothing. Connell is gorgeous and I could listen to them all day. This has also inspired me to pick up a new book and get back into my reading… and to explore some local bookshops to find some gems. Love you Luce. Always a pleasure. Xx
I watched this video snuggled up in a blanket in my reading nook, with my cat asleep on my lap (Stensland says hi to Flo, he thinks they’d be great friends), drinking a cuppa, and let me tell you, it was the absolute loveliest 26 minutes I’ve had in a long time. Connel seemed absolutely amazing, I could listen to them talk about books and reading all day long tbh! The books you got all seem really interesting, I’m excited to see what you think about them.
I worked literally on Picadilly for years and NEVER found this place. I feel robbed and I'm going to have to make a special journey to visit. Thanks for sharing Lucy!
Your answers to the questionnaire are almost exactly what I would have put myself so will be following up all the recommendations! I really struggle with being indecisive so its great to have a nudge in the right direction 😊
Just happened upon you as I was adding to my TBR list and oh Lord, why haven't I found you sooner. You are so relatable and I just know your suggestions will go from my TBR to my must own for good pile!
Lauren Elkin’s Flâneuse is an incredible read, just the right balance of intriguing while academic, I really hope you enjoy it! I came across it whilst writing my dissertation on women walking in early C20th London; it’s an especially interesting read if you have any interest in Virginia Woolf. If you enjoy it then there’s lots more psychogeography to get stuck into, particularly about London. This was a lovely video Lucy, and what a dream day out for an English Lit grad!
I adored this. Felt like taking a trip with a friend similarly obsessed with the culture surrounding books. I'm a bookseller at Warwick Books in (you guessed it) Warwick and we hand-write reviews of books we've read and enjoyed to add a personal touch when customers are browsing through the shelves. I enjoyed Matrix a great deal last year, and it was one of the first reviews I ever wrote for the shop! I appreciated how it wasn't afraid to be poetic in earnest, and how the writing was geared towards strong female CHARACTERS rather than just STRONG female characters.
I found your channel today by pure chance. I now know where I'm going to be going next month and I love the idea of their personal consultation. I'm ashamed to say I've never heard of this bookshop as I usually head to Foyles. Thank you for bringing it to my attention and for this very interesting video.
This is what a book lovers dreams are made of! I love your honestly about the books you enjoy, I like the same things and often think I should be reading more “high brow” content but I like what I like 😂 I need to visit this book shop ASAP, I almost cried with happiness watching this, is that weird?!
I haven't commented for a long time but I just wanted to say how much I absolutely loved this video! I used to be such a bookworm but have been really struggling to focus. Yesterday I took time to sit down and read - 450 pages and 5 or so hours later I'd read the whole book and now I feel re-inspired so definitely will be checking out these books as your preferences sound similar to mine. Also, I live in Edinburgh these days and there are some AMAZING independent book shops that have a similar vibe.
I don't know who I envy more: you for having a personal reading consultation or the staff at Heywood Hill for having such lovely jobs. Really enjoyed this video - the more books the better :)
I am so glad I’ve found your channel. All the books sound incredible and it’s so cool to have a similar taste in books with someone. Hope you’re having a very happy reading time! :)
In reference to witchy themed historical fiction, I just read “the witch's lullaby by hester fox” and it was great. Perfect witchy vibes and a fun quick read. I also like female based fiction by female authors if possible. 📚 🌙
Thank you for taking us along with you for this experience! This was so lovely, comforting and inspiring to watch and I'm going to get off UA-cam right now and read.
Love this! Also laughed so hard at the comment of “I’m sure in modern times” when talking about her UNCLE 😱😵💫 need to visit this bookshop my next trip to london 😍
If you want some more Ruth Ozeki, I recently listened to Ruth narrate her older book A Tale for The Time Being. I read it years ago but Ruth's own narration brought it to life in a new and beautiful way. Her work is philosophical and touching, but also laugh out loud hilarious at times. Wonderful.
I have read both of the Nancy Mitford novels and enjoyed them. If you don't know much about this family, I can recommend 'The Mitford Girls' which is about the Mitford sisters and it is really fascinating how their lives turned out
Being dyslexic I find it takes me a while to get through a book but I really aspire to read more and your videos inspire me so much! I love making a trip to my local charity shops to hunt out your recommendations. Also, this was such a relaxing watch, thank you ❤️🥰
Lucy, I know your TBR list is probably very long but if you haven’t read it already, add ‘Another Life’ by Jodie Chapman to your list - similar to Normal People, really interesting premise 🥰 Thanks for all the book content!
Omg the one about the objects talking- I've been looking for that!!! This sounds like the absolute dream tho ngl... might treat mum to a book consultation for birthday...
My first ever book vlog ❤ dear gosh books are a main love of mine and this was heaven to watch! Could almost smell that gorgeous book smell through my screen! I can’t wait to see more of your bloom vlogs Lucy (please keep doing them)
I read Matrix for my book club, definitely something different! I also bought Flaneuse in Paris at Shakespeare & Co. It has been sitting on my bookshelf for a while. Time to read it! 😊
Great video! My favourite bookshop haunts in London are the MBS section in Waterstones Picadilly, Watkins, Atlantis and Treadwells, I can make a day of it going around them all on foot, I share the pain of lacking discipline around books 😬😀
I loved this so much! I wish I could go and have a look around Heywood Hill. My husband and I could get lost for days in there. I absolutely love seeing you enjoy the content you’re creating. I hope you enjoy your books and that we get a reaction video on however many you want to include in a video. Happy reading!!!
pyscho geography is brilliant a fav was artists in the 1960's would follow a berlin metro map in paris! Not careing if they walked through gardens railway lines whatever it was a way of seeing past the capatlist landscape taking over western cities.
I love this book content even though I think our tastes in books do not overlap much at all. (The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was probably one of my least favorite books I actually finished reading). I always find it interesting to see what other people are reading though! It helps keeps my brain from closing too much.
This is absolutely one of my favorite videos ever! You have inspired me to go sit in a coffee shop and read tomorrow to get out of my own head. New goal is to go to that bookshop one day.
I just discovered the channel and I enjoyed the video about one of my favourite bookstore. I ordered books from them before Brexit but now it’s too expensive as I live in Belgium. Now I order books sometimes from Amsterdam or sadly from Amazon. This last one does deliver books but I miss the love and the warmth that I feel when receiving their boxes. Thank you for your awesome video. Your pronounced “ Flâneur “ right. With flâneurs you just don’t say the s. They both sound the same. Congratulations on your French.
I loved this video! The Persuit of Love is one of my favourite books of all time, I haven't read Love in a Cold Climate yet so will be interested to hear your views on it.
Hi Lucy What a ;ovely video. I am reading Free Love for my reading group this month. I think the conversation will be really interesting. You will really enjoy Love in a Cold Climate there is also a bbc series of this

CHRISTMAS IN SPRING, what an absolutely joyful compliment hahaha
I ADORE Connel's voice, so relaxing. I could listen to them all day!
Me too! So lovely to chat to x
Love seeing people working where their passion lies. And also really enjoyed seeing you interact with the bookseller. You do a nice chat! And the Mitford sisters are quite an interesting story too for anyone who likes a peek into the intrigues of the past!
You're right, the joy is infectious when you chat to someone who loves something so much! Thanks so much for watching 🥰
Can I just say that as a long-time BookTube fanatic whose fallen out of love with it for a little bit, I am really starting to get back into my BookTube love because of your videos? Thank you, Lucy! ♥️

This is so amazing to hear! Really glad, thank you 🥰
Um, Lucy, you totally win best video of the month!! This made my day…cozy vibes, books, London, what more could I want?!
I ACCEPT THIS PRIZE, I'd like to thank the academy
Lucy!!!! I LOVE THIS FOR YOU!!! Also, you’re such a lovely person, you could tell Conal was a bit nervous and you were so sweet and seemed to make them so much more comfortable.
It’s Conal, I think (found at Heywood Hills website)

Didn't even finish the video before hopping on their website and buying a subscription for my father. Thank you so much for the brilliant idea!
What an ace gift! You'll have to let me know how he gets on with it 😊
This was so lovely to watch! Very curious to see what you'll think of Matrix. 👀
Lovely cosy video. The opening of the video gave me all You’ve Got Mail vibes which I’m here for. X
If there was a film that I wish could be my life aesthetic! Haha x
It's such a hidden gem! I would never have noticed it unless I was on the hunt x
Your answers to the questionnaire are almost exactly what I would have put myself so will be following up all the recommendations! I really struggle with being indecisive so its great to have a nudge in the right direction 😊
What a great bookstore. I'm adding it to my list of places to stop at when I eventually visit London one day.
Definitely! It's such lovely vibes for a little book browse x
That gave me propper Charing cross 84 vibes. What a lovely vlog. I wish this could be an " All across UK book stores" series.
Imagine! That's gotta be the dream vlog series haha x
Yes please to this series!
The Persephone bookshop in Bath would be a good one!
What a great cozy video! Thank you! Put some of the books on my tbr list!
Your dissertation sounds so cool! What a great topic 🤩
