I love how Ahmed immediately notices what's the issue. A lot of time I would stare at a drawing, I know there is an issue with it, but I can't put my finger on it.
Wauw thats really cool. Gotta say i loved his demon design, but it also makes a lot of sense when you go down to basics and pushed his proportions to give it a more interesting shape... Great interesting video as always!
They say iteration is the best way of learning, so I'd recommend Kienan Lafferty's channel, he's often emphasizing the importance of breaking things into big-medium-small to create appealing designs. Hopefully Ahmed doesn't get mad at me for bringing up another youtuber.
it is a bit confusing at first but when you start doing lots of drawings keeping this in mind and also when you try to study the art of artists you like you'll start to see how you can implement it into your own art to improve. try to take drawings you like of other artists (maybe even classical artists) and see what you can learn from it. granted it wont be easy but you just have to go in with the mindset that you will improve if you give yourself enough time. good luck!
im confused about what not to do. the goal was to design based of triangle in circle. But i think i did get something out of this; the contour communicating a shape while inside the silhouette use other shape elements. *thumbs up*
Basically : use big, medium, small rule - emphasise certain points in the image for extra oomph, don't make everything equal in size and shape etc because it makes the image boring and false feeling And the triangle with the circle in seemed to be a thing about contrasting shape language, again if everything is the same it's not as interesting and memorable of a design sometimes. The outside edges being "sharp" contrasting inside shapes being smooth and rounded makes an interesting image (That's how I understand this anyway lol)
As someone that never went to art school or a art course, I never seen a design critique like this, so simple but helpful wow

Big/medium/small being applied to shapes within shapes isn't something I thought of consciously. That was extremely helpful, thanks.
omg even just the first tip in this makes so much sense - I would love to be in this class one day it seems so good!!!
