    Both of yours are wonderful, but for the moment, I am leaning toward the girl. You have inspired me to get out my supplies, which are very similar to yours, and make up some ideas that have been cooking in my brain for a while. I'm thinking of representing my parents when they were kids, side-by-side separate rooms, not knowing they would grow up to meet. But as the "maker" and onlooker, I know.

    So cute.... Looks like there was a hole at top of the hanger charm, you could feed that through the jump ring so it lays flat and stays

    • @SunsetCrafts
      @SunsetCrafts  9 місяців тому +1

      You are absolutely right. I really don’t know why I didn’t think to do that. It kept falling off in the video. Lol I’ll have to add the jump ring to keep in on for my display.
      Thanks! :)

    I just thought of a suggestion to add that I actually thought of when you were making it in the beginning because the little girls arm wouldn’t go over the top of the chair and be the same height as the chair, so I thought a little rug underneath the girls feet would help Jump her up a little bit to be more even with the chair. You can always use the part of a thick old or Afghan that you no longer use or wear to be your rug because you just need a small piece or you could even crochet a couple rows of stitches to make a rug.

    For the fake book pages, you could make the strip longer and glue the strip along the inside of the spine to give it more stability, and make it easier to glue. Very cute projects! I can’t choose a favorite. Do you display them in your craft area? I don’t have enough real estate! 🥲

    I love this shadowbox you made. I watched Tim Holtz videos pretty regularly and he would love to see something like this so if there’s anyway you can go onto his channel and get his email address and tell him about it, I think he would show it on his next video. His vibe is pretty much grunge, but I still think he would like it and he definitely would like the one with the man and all the moss and everything. When you were making it, I thought maybe you could hear me yelling at you to put the jar on top of the books And see what it look like. It may have been too much but sometimes a little girls room is messy, so I wanted to kind of see if it would work I don’t branch out much more than card making but you sure are persuading me to go outside of my realm!❤️❤️❤️

    The spine is where the book is bound. Maybe that’s the word you were looking for? Your project is cute! And very clever with the faux book!I downloaded one of the tiny books from Nik The Booksmith on Etsy, and I love it! lol yes very tedious but definitely worth it for me, but I can see how people would be like nope. I like your idea though for when I don’t want to do the other. I wonder if the Jenga pieces from the dollar tree would work as the inside of a book? Maybe I’ll try that
    Edit: oops I forgot that you were working with Holtz’s ephemera, so the Jenga/tower game pieces would probably take quite a bit of work to make them fit and would be easier if one is creating their own book cover. The little scrabble pieces might be an idea for that too

    • @SunsetCrafts
      @SunsetCrafts  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi Heather, using wood pieces to fill the mini books is brilliant. I’ll have to try it out to see if they fit any of the TH covers. I have some scrabble tiles. Thanks so much for the tip. And thanks for watching! :) Maggie

    This suggestion is actually for your die cutting video but when you cut dies, the people in the comments were giving you great ideas in how to save your plates. Another suggestion is to put your dies and paper in another part of the plate, or turn them sideways or something like that so that they cut on another part of the plate and not always right in the middle going straight up and down. This will help your plates last longer. You also asked if they’re supposed to warp and yes they do warp there is a way to prevent it. If you look it up on Jennifer Mcguire‘s UA-cam channel, she talks about different ways to make your plates last longer. But do you know that you will have to replace plates once in a while. They will not last you the life of the die cutting machine at all. Depending upon how often you use it, it will determine how often you have to replace them.

    • @SunsetCrafts
      @SunsetCrafts  9 місяців тому

      Thanks Susan, I’ve read all the comments and have received emails too with all sorts of tips and tricks and have already bought replacement plates to keep on hand so I have it ready whenever necessary. But I appreciate you taking the time to give your suggestions. Thanks so much for watching
